2017 AR Indy Academy

Post by DemocalypseNow »

Image
This is the direct feeder series to the AR Indy World Cup, visiting only North American venues to ensure cost saving and ease of operation for teams.

The series will use a brand new chassis called the Voeckler Academy i1, which is similar to its bigger brother from IWC in that it is also closed cockpit. However, this car is slower, topping out at around 180mph. View a gallery of the new car here.

Teams will be rewarded most handsomely for the hiring of talented young drivers, as the performance of your team will mostly be down to the ability of your drivers. There will be external factors such as (RNG generated) fanboosts, and also small things money can be spent on (e.g. testing to improve driver skill, illegal tune-ups, etc).

Probably the most important thing however is that the two highest placed teams will earn automatic promotion to the Indy World Cup for the following season!
This will allow those who were unlucky enough not to get entry to the Indy World Cup straight away a route into the series, if they can prove they're good enough at managing their team to the top! However, best not throw caution to the wind - the bottom five teams at the end of the season will lose their teams if new applicants come in for the series (e.g. 3 new teams apply for 2018, then teams that finished 23rd and below are 'relegated into oblivion').

Next year there will be a bonus for signing drivers who graduate from the AR 2.0 North America series, but for now, there won't be any signing bonuses. Drivers who succeed here will carry a bonus over with them to the Indy World Cup from 2018 onwards.

Himalayas Racing, on the back of a successful 2016 in SARS are going to try their hand at open-wheelers and would like to present:

Himalayas-Denali Racing

The team will be completely based in the United States and will offer a stepping stone for young Asian drivers into the North American market. However drivers of other nationalities may be considered if they show potential (i.e. aren't good enough for the ACO Le Mans team but need to be farmed somewhere)

And if anyone cares, Denali is the native name of the tallest peak in North America.

Alvarez Competicion will submit an entry on the off-chance that teams with no prior entries are less forthcoming than expected.

Failing this, Astro would like to build a partnership with a trustworthy team; we would supply Astro Racing Stars to the team to give them a more linear path towards the IWC and help them develop as drivers.

Should the circumstances arrive that Alvarez is not getting an entire and my team, Loyer Racing Technologies, is getting one we would be really interested in a partnership with Astro in order to help young talents getting a path to IWC. This partnership could also be extended to AR 2.0 NA if the wish arrives.

That sounds like a very good deal, and so if Alvarez don't receive an entry to ARIA then we'd like to work with Loyer. In addition, we would also be looking to help Loyer-affiliated drivers with their path to the IWC to ensure the deal is sweet for both sides.

Mazzacane Motorsport would like to apply for an entry. The team has no entry in one of the major single-seater series (F1RWRS, F1, IWC) yet, although entries in F1RWRS and IWC are planned for the future.

It's now been a few weeks since ARIA entries were opened up, so everyone who has submitted an application can consider their teams locked in. There is one free team slot remaining at the time of writing.

A calendar for the 2017 will be drafted soon, and then we can get to the issue of series rules, regulations and so forth.

Considering i promised Da Cunha a ride (Octan YD honours all contracts), this looks the best for him. He's still too inexperienced for the big indycars. However there's one condition: if he fails here too: he's out of the program. The second seat is open for offers.

Probably hard to believe, but, it isn't dead yet. Basically just waiting to get IWC going first, and ARIA will swiftly follow. IWC gave me a lot of headaches...things not working as they should, etc. Deciding a ruleset that didn't involve me touching the car performance anymore, etc...

Anyway, look, shiny new content! It's actually real!

OK, enough waiting. Time to just get this series run and done.

Go sign some drivers. You can't sign a driver that's done a full season of F1RWRS, F1, F1RICS or IndyCar. For 2017 only, you will be able to sign real-life drivers (one per team), who have driven in the following series in their 2014 edition;

Pro Mazda Championship
U.S. F2000 National Championship
Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0
Formula Renault 2.0 NEC
Italian F4 Championship
BRDC Formula 4 Championship
Fórmula 4 Sul-Americana

I plan for there to be video clips, so a decent livery for every team would be nice. You can find the template PSD here.

Let's go!

Octan is interested.
Due to contractual obligations Octan YD will run Jamerson Da Cunha, however, on a performance based race-to-race contract. We don't believe in him, so i'm already looking for a replacement before the season starts!
hat replacement will be 18 year old Belgian Tom Bellinkx, a protegé of RonDen RE, altough never champion, he always ended in the top 5 in the national karting championship. And winner of one race in his first season in the GT3 Cup challenge Benelux. Also got to an incredible 28th place in the 24hours of Lemons. But first let's see how many races Jamie survives. :P
I don't know what i want and i want it now!
