Race - Japan
Ayrton Senna sparked wild celebrations in the Arrows garage, by holding off a charging Jean Alesi to take the teams first ever win by less than a second. Alesi's second moves him to the top of the championship, a single point ahead of Alain Prost after the Frenchman spun out with 18 laps to go. Gerhard Berger took the final podium place for Benetton. The two Williams cars came home fourth and fifth, with Thierry Boutsen leading home Nelson Piquet. The final point was scored by Ivan Capelli in the Minardi, after a three way battle with Olivier Panis and Michael Schumacher.

Great run by Capelli. That point should hopefully lock up 8th in the WCC for us.

It was first blood to Alain Porst in the title decider, as he edged out rival Jean Alesi in qualifying by less than a tenth of a second. It was Alain Prost who took his fourth world championship with a dominant display for Ferrari. Jean Alesi's title challenge never materialized and he dropped behind Nelson Piquet who finishes the year with a strong second place. Nigel Mansell brought his Dallara home fourth, just ahead of Thierry Boutsen in the second Williams with Michael Schumacher rounding off Jordan's impressive debut season with the last point

With the FIA deciding to reduce the number of teams for the 1992 season to 20 and having already accepted the application of the Andrea Moda team, Osella and Coloni as the bottom two teams will not have their licences renewed.

That concludes the 1991 season, I'll be starting the 1992 season soon (when I've sorted out all the teams finances) so confirm your entries either here or there.

Yes! I can finally join this series.

Can I just purchase Coloni to avoid paying the entry fee? :P

I'm just messing, but I plan to not quite be as rejectful as the real Andrea Moda.

I'm guessing to survive into 1993, I have to avoid dead last in the WCC, to compensate for Sauber entering?
