KL-racer's F1 management: 2007 Season finale/ROTY UP!

Post by KL-racer »

KL-racer’s F1 Management: 2007 Season

Okay, after Alonso successfully defended his Driver's title from an improbable season from Jarno Trulli and Ferrari reclaiming the team's title despite not winning a single race all of last season. What could this season bring? First off, I added the FIA prize money to your leftover budget from 2006. Second, I must make sure that all 13 people that I have currently signed up are still committed to this, so you must confirm your entry, along with any comments you want to make about last season before we move on to the bids! All of the RNG'S are now completed finally, so the entry list looks like this!

Imola
Catalunya
Monaco
Montreal
Indy
Sliverstone
Magny-Cours
Nurburgring
Hungaroring
Spa
Monza
Istanbul
Shanghai
Fuji
Interlagos

Testing:

There will be a pre-season test at Jerez, and three in-season tests after Imola, Sliverstone and Spa. Finally, like last season the YDT will be at Catalunya, but this time after the race at Istanbul.

Upgrade rules:

One area will still cost $500k, but two areas will now cost $900k. You can still put a double focus on one area. In addition, the five areas themselves haven’t changed. FYI, these areas are:

Engine power: Improves both qualifying and race engine power
Reliability: reduces the chance of a failure
Qualifying Runs: Improves the qualifying pace of car
Race Runs: Improves the race pace of the car
Aerodynamics: improves the handling of the car

Good luck to everyone!

ProDrive will once again enter in 2007 season.

And we need better engines, so ProDrive already declares interest in the Mercedes power unit.

Midland confirm their entry and express regret about the lost Ferrari engine deal. We would also like to say how pleased the new owners are with Jarno Trulli's result in the World Championship of 2006 and also that the team are in advanced discussions with Spyker Cars about a possible tie-up.

Re: KL-racer's F1 Management: 2007 Season

Post by KL-racer »

Since I have gotten everyone except Andrew and Toro Rosso, either he’s going to respond late after this post or not respond at all. In the latter case, Collieafc you are free to take Toro Rosso if you are still interested. You know what time it is? It’s . . .

BIDDING TIME!!! There is three steps to this!

Step 1: Buy your Chassis!

Yes, it’s new for 2007, the Chassis one and only purpose is to determine your initial reliability value before the pre-season test at Jerez. There are six chassis tiers, the numbers next to the cost will be the range that I will set the RNG to produce your reliability stat to begin with. Don’t worry, you can improve your reliability during the pre-season and the three in-season tests!

Tier 1: $25 million 4000-5000
Tier 2: $22 million 4000-6000
Tier 3: $19 million 4000-7000
Tier 4: $16 million 4000-8000
Tier 5: $13 million 4000-9000
Tier 6: $10 million 4000-10000

Step 2 Buy you Engines:

If you are a works team, you don’t have to worry about this! But for everyone else, you have to bid for an engine. You can bid for up to 3 different engines. And you must use a V8 engine, no more V10’s. All engine makers except Spyker and Cosworth can supply two teams.

Renault: $18 million 1 team left
Ferrari: $16.5 million 1 team left
Mercedes: $15 million 2 teams left
Toyota: $13.5 million 1 teams left
BMW: $12 million 1 team left
Honda: $10.5 million 1 team left
Spyker: $9 million 1 team left
Cosworth: $7.5 million 1 team left

Step 3: Driver Bids

You must have 2 race drivers, but a test driver is now OPTIONAL, thanks to the YDT, and it’s your choice whether to hire one or not. Otherwise, you can bid up to 3 drivers for each race seat and/or test driver seat if you decide to do it.

Fernando Alonso $20 million Wants #1 status
Kimi Raikkonen $17.5 million Wants #1 Status
Michael Schumacher $15 million Wants #1 status
Juan Pablo Montoya $12.5 million
Jarno Trulli $10 million
Ralf Schumacher $7.5 million
Nick Heidfeld $6 million
Jacques Villenueve $5.5 million
Mark Webber $5 million
Christian Klien $4.5 million
Sebastien Bourdais $4 million
David Coulthard $3.5 million
Rubens Barrichello $3 million
Lewis Hamiltion $3 million
Sebastian Vettel $2.5 million
Jenson Button $2.5 million
Pedro De La Rosa $2 million
Heikki Kovalainen $2 million
Giancarlo Fisichella $1.5 million wants a race seat or he will go to ALMS
Felipe Massa $1.5 million
Robert Kubica $3 million discount off Ferrari Engines Wants a race seat
Adrian Sutil $1 million OR $3 million PD Wants a race seat
Nico Rosberg $1 million Wants a race seat
Mark Gene $1 million
Kazuya Oshima must bid for Toyota Engines, $3 million discount off the engine
Alexander Wurz $750k He will retire at the end of this season, hence the discount
VItantonio Liuzzi $750k
Takuma Sato $750k
Anthony Davidson $750k
Robert Doornbos $500k
Christijan Albers $500k
Markus Winkelhock $500k
Clivio Piccione $500k
Scott Speed $500k
Luca Badoer $500k
Adrian Valles $250k
Jose Maria Lopez $250k
Nelson Piquet Jr. $250k
Luca Flippi $250k
Mike Conway $250k
Andreas Zuber $250k
Ho-Pin Tung $250k
Sebastien Buemi $250k
Narain Karthikeyan $6 million PD
Ernesto Viso $5 million PD wants a race seat
Sakon Yamamoto $4 million PD
Giedo Van der Garde $2.5 million PD
Vitaly Petrov $2 million PD

One final note: All of you must send all bids via PM! Yes, I learned that the hard way from last season that it's better!

Good luck to all of you!

Toyota will in fact not be supporting any endeavour by Kazuki Nakajima in F1, our protege is Kazuya Oshima who a) needs to be added to the list and and b) earns whichever team hires him a $3m discount on Toyota engines (take that part of the engine price out of our budget).

Edit: Bids sent, please confirm.

Post by KL-racer »

Okay, I checked my Email and I confirm that I received the following teams bids:

Ferrari
Renault
Toyota
Honda
Red Bull
BMW Sauber
Prodrive
Super Aguri

Also, I removed Nakajima and replaced him with Kazuya Oshima as Klon requested, and as roblomas 52 reqested, I added the Ferrari engine discount on Robert Kubica as well.

Finally, since I have no clue where Andrew went, I decided to give Toro Rosso to Collieafc, with immediate effect.

EDIT: I now have McLaren and Midland's bids, so there's three teams that still haven't sent bids yet, so please hurry up and send them via PM, before I get too impatient!

So, I still haven't received bids from Williams, Toro Rosso and Carlin. It's been a week already since I posted the bidding instructions. I am not going to extend the time for you guys to send bids via PM. So, here's what I am going to do, I will do the engine bids first for the teams that did send PM'S, after that is done, then the three teams that didn't send PM'S can select from the leftover engines that haven't got taken yet and it's first come first served! Yes, I am sick and tired of waiting for PM'S to arrive anyway!

Re: KL-racer's F1 Management:2007 ENGINE BIDS!

Post by KL-racer »

Engine Bids:

Mercedes part 1: Three teams for two engines, let's see who gets them!

McLaren 1-60, Prodrive 61-90, Midland 91-100

Number is . . . 60, McLaren gets to keep the Mercedes engines

Mercedes Part 2:

Prodrive 1-75, Midland 76-100

Number is . . . 12 so Prodrive gets the second batch of Mercedes engines

Ferrari

Prodrive and McLaren also submitted a bid for Ferrari engines, but both of these teams already got their engines, which leaves Midland as the only team left to get the Ferrari customer engines.

BMW

Red Bull was the only team to bid for the Customer BMW engine, so they will use them.

Honda

Likewise, Super Aguri was the only team to bid for the Honda Engines, so they keep them.

For Williams, Toro Rosso and Carlin, first off, you will be using tier 6 chassis for this season because you didn’t submit your bids via PM in a timely matter. Second off, the four leftover engines are Renault, Toyota, Spyker and Cosworth. Finally, it is first come first served on these engines so react quickly to get the best selection!

As for the driver bids from Williams, Toro Rosso and Carlin, after much thought and debate, you can now go ahead and post them on here because you didn’t bother to PM me in the first place!

Updates:
W12, since you were on the waiting list, and Williams was the first opening, you can take control of Williams, which by the way, you need to send your bids via PM. Expect a PM from me about this.

Meanwhile, that leaves no one on the waiting list and Carlin is suddenly available as well. So if you are interested, just post on here, and I will PM you about bidding instructions.

Yes, you can. Since the previous owner didn't do bids, you will have to do bids and send them via PM. It's pretty simple, you can bid for up to three engines, select a chassis tier, and three drivers for each race seat. Test drivers are optional. As soon as I receive your bids, we can finally move on to the REDO engine RNG'S!

REDO ENGINE RNG’S

Since, I finally received Carlin's Bids, you know what it's about time for, the Engine RNG'S. Yes, I have decided to redo the engine RNG’S. This time, it’s for real, so if the results end up being different than the first time around, you can put the blame on me! So, here we go!

Mercedes Part 1:

Three teams for two sets of Mercedes engines, let’s see who gets them!

McLaren 1-60, Prodrive 61-90, Midland 91-100

First number is . . . 47, so McLaren gets to keep their Mercedes engines for 2007

Mercedes Part 2:

Prodrive 1-75, Midland 76-100

Second Number is . . . 69, so Prodrive got the second batch of Mercedes Engines! Which happens to be the same result as the first time around!

Ferrari

Prodrive and McLaren also bidded for Ferrari’s but since both of these teams already got their engines, Midland was the only other team that bidded for Ferrari’s, so they will get them! So far it’s looking much like the first time I did the RNG’S.

BMW:

Three teams for one set of BMW Engines, let’s see who gets them.

Red Bull 1-65, Carlin 66-90, Williams 91-100

Unlike Last time, Red Bull now has some competition from Carlin and Williams for the BMW engines.

Number is . . . 66, so Carlin gets the BMW customer engine in a surprise! I imagine wallio is pissed off right now!

Toyota:

There were two teams that bidded for one set of Toyota Engines, Williams and Toro Rosso

Williams 1-55, Toro Rosso 56-100

Number is . . . 16, so Williams gets the Toyota Engine

Cosworth

Red bull would be the only team that ended up bidding for the 2007-spec Cosworth V8’s, so they would have to use them!

Honda

Super Aguri, likewise was the only team leftover that bidded for Honda engines, so they will keep using them in 2007.

Which means, Toro Rosso is left without an engine as of now. However, there are one batch of Renault V8’s or the Spyker engines that they could use for 2007. Collieafc, it’s up to you which engine you want to use.

Driver RNG’S will be posted tomorrow at the earliest.

Of Course, the first post will be updated as well!
Now posted to PMMF . . . F1 management 2011!

After yet another long intermission . . . I finally posted round 8. What will happen in the second half? Stay Tuned

I'd be lying if I said I was happy, but what can you do? Hopefully the Cossies will punch above its weight and our superb chassis will carry us.

Driver RNG’S
So, the time has come! The Driver RNG’S are finally here! So, let’s see who goes where? Starting from the team that finished 1st in the team’s championship (Ferrari) to the team that finished last in 2006 (Carlin)

Fernando Alonso: The defending champion received three offers, from Ferrari, Renault and Honda.

Signs with Ferrari 1-50, Stays put at Renault 51-95, Signs with Honda 96-100

The number is . . . 78, so he stays put at Renault in 2007 for $25 million.

Michael Schumacher: He only received one offer from Ferrari, and since Alonso is staying put at Renault, he accepts the Ferrari offer for $20 million.

Juan Pablo Montoya: Like M. Schumacher, he only received an offer from Ferrari to return as #2, after Alonso returned to Renault. He accepts it for $15 million.

Lewis Hamilton: The 2006 GP2 Champion had many offers indeed, six in all.

Signs with Renault 1-30, Sign with McLaren 31-60, Sign with Williams 61-80, Sign with Toro Rosso 81-90, Waits for Toyota 91-95, Waits for Honda, 96-100

Number is . . . 90 . . . he signs with Toro Rosso-Renault, in a shocking move indeed! Guess, the Renault engines really attracted Hamilton to ditch the top tier teams.

Sebastian Vettel: This 19-year old, also had quite a few offers, five in total.

Resigns with Renault 1-35, Signs with Red Bull 36-70, Signs with McLaren 71-85, signs with Williams 86-95, Waits for Sauber 96-100

Number is . . . 20, he resigns with Renault

Jarno Trulli: He only had two offers, from McLaren and Midland. He wants to stay at Midland, but McLaren made a pretty strong case as well.

Number is . . . 21, he signs with McLaren

Kimi Raikkonen: He got only two offers, stay at McLaren, or join Honda.

Stays at McLaren 1-70, Signs with Honda 71-100

Number is . . . 8, he stays put at McLaren

Nico Rosberg: After getting injured last season, at Canada. He was replaced by Rubens Barrichello for the remainder of 2006, so he’s not inclined to return to Williams, unless they show massive improvements.

Signs with Midland 1-65, Signs with Carlin 66-95, Waits for Williams 96-100,

Number is . . . 34, he signs with Midland

Robert Kubica: Since Midland got the Ferrari engine, they can now sign Kubica, and get the Ferrari Engine discount as well.

Christijan Albers Part 1: Signs with Midland as Tester 1-55, waits for Carlin race seat 56-100

Number is . . . 67, he waits for a race seat with Carlin

Ralf Schumacher: He only received an extra-long contract from Toyota until the end of the 2010 season, at $3 million per year he gladly takes it.

Sakon Yamamoto Part 1: This Pay driver received plenty of attention

Signs with Toyota 1-75, Waits for Super Aguri Race seat 76-85, Waits for Toro Rosso Race seat 86-90 ,Waits for Sauber Test seat 91-95, Waits for Williams Test seat 96-100

Number is . . . 36, he signs with Toyota as their new #2.

Mike Conway: Which leaves this young driver with a test driver role with Toyota.

Mark Webber and Chirstian Klien: Aussiegrit and Klien both had no other offers other than resigning with Honda.

Narain Karthikeyan: The highest paying driver in the pool received three offers

Signs Test role with Honda 1-35, Signs test Role with Sauber 36-70, Signs test role with Williams 71-100

Number is . . . 55, he signs a test role with Sauber.

Sakon Yamamoto Part 2: Honda suddenly banged on Sakon’s door for a test driver offer

Accepts the Honda test offer 1-45, declines and waits for Toro Rosso race seat 46-75, Declines and waits for Super Aguri race seat 76-90, Declines the offer and waits Williams for Test role, 91-100

Number is . . . 77, he is still waiting for a race seat at Super Aguri.

Jacques Villeneuve and Anthony Davidson: Both of them only received offers from Red Bull, so they both signed without much of a contest

Nick Heidfeld: He only received an offer from Sauber for $6 million, so he resigns for that amount.

Adrian Sutil: This pay driver wants to race now and received four offers promising him a race seat.

Signs with Sauber 1-60, Signs with Super Aguri 61-80, Waits for Prodrive race seat, 81-90, Waits for Toro Rosso Race seat 91-100

Number is . . . 49, he signs with Sauber

Giancarlo Fisichella: After being out of F1 for all of the 2006 season, he is still trying to find a race seat and came up with two offers from Williams and Prodrive

Signs with Williams 1-85, Waits for Prodrive 86-100

Number is . . . 85, he signs with Williams as their new #1.

Heikki Kovalainen: He only received an offer from Williams to race, he takes it for $2 million.

Sakon Yamamoto Part 3: A few days later, Williams came knocking on his door demanding him to accept their Test offer.

Accepts the Offer 1-50, Declines and signs with Toro Rosso as #2 51-75, Declines and Signs with Super Aguri as #2 76-100

Number is . . . 53, he signs with Toro Rosso as #2 and declines Williams in the process

Vitaly Petrov: This Russian Pay driver only has two offers remaining

Signs with Williams as their tester 1-50, Waits for Carlin race seat 51-100

Number is . . . 18, he signs with Williams as their test driver

Pedro De La Rosa and Andreas Zuber: Both only had offers from Prodrive to race, so they both accept.

Takuma Sato and EJ Viso: Both only had offers from Super Aguri to race with them, so they accepted their deals.

Christijan Albers Part 2: It took forever for Carlin to respond, and they did but he is not so sure about falling down to the last-place team on the grid.

Signs with Carlin 1-65, declines the offer 66-100

Number is . . . 34, he signs with Carlin as #1.

Felipe Massa: He has no other offers other than Carlin’s #2 race seat, he accepts it.

Sebasiten Buemi/Ho-Pin Tung/Luca Flippi: All three are battling out for the test seat at Carlin, but only one will get it

Buemi 1-34, Tung, 35-67, Flippi 68-100

The number is . . . 19, so Buemi gets the test driver role at Carlin

And that my friends, that’s all of the driver RNG’S!

Re: KL-racer's F1 Management: 2007 PRE-SEASON TEST UP!

Post by KL-racer »

Wow! It’s already been this long since I last posted here. So, here’s the deal, I will post the pre-season test results anyway, and I will send all of you guys via PM the stats so that you can plan your first batch of upgrades before I start the first round.

Pre-Season Test at Jerez results

1 Fernando Alonso 1:22.680 (Renault)
2 Michael Schumacher +0.343 (Ferrari)
3 Kimi Raikkonen +0.554 (McLaren-Mercedes)
4 Sebastian Vettel +0.689 (Renault)
5 Juan Pablo Montoya +0.729 (Ferrari)
6 Lewis Hamilton +0.738 (Toro Rosso-Renault)
7 Pedro De La Rosa +0.814 (Prodrive-Mercedes)
8 Jarno Trulli +1.103 (McLaren-Mercedes)
9 Nico Rosberg +1.155 (Midland-Ferrari)
10 Ralf Schumacher +1.237 (Toyota)
11 Nick Heidfeld +1.278 (BMW Sauber)
12 Giancarlo Fisichella +1.395 (Williams-Toyota)
13 Mark Webber +1.450 (Honda)
14 Christian Klien +1.486 (Honda)
15 Jacques Villenueve +1.788 (Red Bull-Cosworth)
16 Felipe Massa +2.091 (Carlin-BMW)
17 Christijan Albers +2.215 (Carlin-BMW)
18 Heikki Kovalainen +2.257 (Williams-Toyota)
19 Robert Kubica +2.260 (Midland-Ferrari)
20 Giedo Van der Garde +2.265 (Toyota)
21 Sakon Yamamoto +2.432 (Toro Rosso-Renault)
22 Anthony Davidson +2.515 (Red Bull-Cosworth)
23 Adrian Sutil +2.635 (BMW Sauber)
24 EJ Viso +3.103 (Super Aguri-Honda)
25 Takuma Sato +3.488 (Super Aguri-Honda)
26 Andreas Zuber +3.616 (Prodrive-Mercedes)

Alonso is looking like the favorite to win the Driver’s title three times in a row, but M. Schumacher and Kimi both have strong cases to dethrone him. Vettel is looking like a force to do better in his second season. The surprise of the test session is Lewis Hamilton in the Toro Rosso-Renault, he finished 6th. Meanwhile, Pedro De La Rosa continues to defy his age and managed to finish 7th on the sheets. Rosberg wasn’t as bad as his rookie season might suggested. Don’t forget Fisichella who was out of F1 completely in 2006, he made his comeback with Wiliams-Toyota and managed to squeak in a 12th on the sheets. Expect Villenueve and Red Bull to slip backwards somewhat, the Cosworth V8 is kind of low on power despite a better chassis than last season. Carlin-BMW are hoping to squeak into the points on a few occasions this year, with Massa and Albers. Finally, if you are Super Aguri be glad that your cars are somewhat improving over last year.
