Drivers' plans
First, the drivers on positions 2 to 10 go through randomizer to evaluate, whether they continue in the series. A maximum of two drivers may leave the series this way.
Robert Kubica: 1-41 to stay, 42-100 to move on.
59. Kubica moves to F1.
Jamie Green: 1-82 to stay, 83-100 to move on
95. Green moves to Indycar.
As two drivers have moved, there is no need to go through any other driver.
For the remainder of drivers, they got points for their championship position. Once the driver reaches 25, he will leave automatically.
Point standings as this, taking account 2005 and 2006 seasons, with points are distributed 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 for top 10. Drivers who are eligible for the series have points as follows:
Kovalainen 14, Speed 12, Glock 10, Sutil 8, Lotterer 4, Doornbos 4, Danielsson 2, Allmendinger 2, Philippe 1, Carroll 1.
Thus:
Kovalainen will leave if he finishes top 4
Speed and Glock will leave if they finish top 3
Sutil will leave if he finishes top 2
Eligible drivers
Driver can participate if (s)he's 18 during the day of qualifying (one day before the feature race) Driver can participate in the series until the end of the year (s)he turns 32. Driver also has a maximum of 20 F1 races participated.
Cars
Each existing team will keep the cars it had at the end of 2006 season. One chassis costs 0,5M. A car will lose 1 point of performance when the chassis gets used for race weekend or testing day. Additionally, crashes may cause additional damage to the chassis. All chassis will be replaced after 2007 season.
Updates
A team can have updates on four settings
- Maximum performance (improve by 0,1 seconds)
- Minimum performance (improve by 0,1 seconds)
- Pit crew (improve by 0,5 seconds for scheduled stops, 1 second for unscheduled stops)
- Reliability (improve by 10%)
The team can spend money to the update five different amounts.
0,2M = 10% chance
0,4M = 20% chance
0,6M = 33,3% chance
0,8M = 50% chance
1M = 75% chance
The update is similar regardless of the money spent, more money just improves a chance to get it work.
One successful update for each category is allowed in each season. All the updates will be removed following 2007 season. Only one update can be tested between two events.

Test driver rules
* Each team may name between four and eight drivers for pre-season testing.
* If team names its 2006 drivers, they will automatically test for two days (so if the team is testing both its 2006 drivers, it has a maximum of six drivers. If the team tests just one of its 2006 drivers, it has a maximum of seven drivers.
* A driver participating the test must be eligible to race in 2007 (although not necessarily in the first race)
* A driver who didn't participate Alternate 2006 season and participated Australian Grand Prix 2007 is not eligible.
Timetable
* Teams that participated 2006 season have until July 12th 23.59 CET to retain one of its drivers who participated at least three race weekends for 2007 season. The team is not allowed to retain both of its driver before testing.
* Drivers who were confirmed before testing for the 2006 season (Kovalainen, Speed, di Resta) will go through RNG whether driver will stay or will be looking for other options. In the latter case, the driver will still be allowed to test for two days in his old team.
* 2006 teams have until July 13th 23.59 CET to confirm participation for 2007
* After the list of teams is complete, the teams may start nominating drivers for test sessions
* After Paul Ricard tests, teams state the drivers they wish to use. If the driver is in the shortlist for multiple teams, it will go through RNG weighted by the positions the driver got for each team. So if the driver tested for four teams, was on positions 3, 7, 7 and 9 (s)he is most likely to go to the team where (s)he achieved 3rd place.
