So i met GianCarlo Minardi yesterday

Post by f1-gast »

Yes finally i met GianCarlo in person , he was at the Zandvoort circuit durnig the Italia a Zandvoort.

There where several minardis over there who did demos and also there was GianCarlo Minardi in person !
I just walked straight to him, it seemed no one there did know who he was, and asked him for a selfie.

After that we did some chitchat, and that chitchat changed into a serious conversation , you just saw and heard the passion and love he breats named autosport.
There was a language barrier since his english isnt always that good and my Italian is the same.
But he was very open in giving answers on my questions, though he actually just told his story more then i did question him anything.

He told about he life as a beginning team manager and also about his first try as a Teamboss by entering a private Ferrari T312 in the 70s under the name of Scuderia Everst.
He also gave his opinion and his thoughts about the F1 nowerdays and Bernie.

Its to much to write down so will probably put it in the interview i already had with him.
Just had to share this !

Oh and this is the photo.

Does listening to a dog licking its balls get you excited?

Great! You have met one of the all-time heroes of this website!
"I don't think we should be used to finance (the manufacturers') R&D because they will produce that engine anyway" said Monisha Kaltenborn.
"You will never see a Mercedes using a Ferrari engine or the other way round."

I hope Giancarlo will have a chance to resurrect the famous Minardi name one day in F1.
And nice photo, good to see that he is seriously not going AWOL.
