WSGTM(Season 1) - Round 2 up!

Post by Hermann95 »

This is the World Super GT Masters. It's a global series which features only exists because DTM and Super GT merged together.
You'll have the possibility to play as a manufacturer or customer team. The current manufacturers from DTM and SGT(Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Honda, Nissan and Toyota/Lexus) are set for the first season but new manufacturers have the opportunity to join.

Calendar

Fuji
Yeongnam
Road Amerika
Mont Tamblant
Donington
Norisring
Paul Ricard
Spa
Montreal
Interlagos
Adelaide
Suzuka

Races weekends
Race weekends will start with a practice session on Friday(won't be seen on the forum) and a qualifying on Saturday which will feature a Top 10 shootout for poleposition. On Sunday there will be a race which will be around 200km long.

Cars
Cars will be about the same as they are right now in Super GT. However, all manufacturers will have to build a new car for this season.

Drivers
Drivers will be real. There are 6 different tiers available(salary in brackets):
Tier 1(200k)
Tier 2(150k)
Tier 3(100k)
Tier 4(50k)
Tier P1(-50k)
Tier P2(-100k)

After the season there will be driver drafts where the worst team will get the first shot. Each team will have the oportunity to safe 1 of their drivers(i'll explain this in detail later).

How can i take part?
You can take part by submiting your entrie using this form:

Team Name:
Nationality:
Manufacturer(fill out only if you wish to run a manufacturer team):

Team name and nationality should be clear.

Manufacturer: if you wish to run a manufacturer team you can submit your intention here. For the 6 current manufacturers: first comes first serve.
For new manufacturers: first comes first serve, but i'll run a RNG to determain if the manufacturer joins or not. You have only 1 chance. If the manufacturer doesn't join you'll have to be a customer team. Btw. Customer team budget(1m$), manufacturers(2m$). Manufacturer teams will have to develop a base car(1m$) and find customer teams to sell cars and make money.

Everything regarding drivers will be dealed with later on.

Manufacturer entries

already set
Grand Honshu Racing - Honda
Xanavi NISMO - Nissan
AC Schnitzer - BMW
Shell Valerian Racing - Audi
TR National Racing - Mercedes

new manufacturers
Team Manthey - Porsche: Porsche doesn't want to join right now(maybe in the future)
Peak Mazdaspeed Racing - Mazda: Mazda joins the series
Nash, Inc. - Chevrolet: Chevrolete is not interested at the moment(maybe in the future)
Ultimate Asia - Hyundai: Hunday joins the series
Moscow Motorsports - Lada: Lada is not interested at all(won't join in the next few years)
Rob Lomas Racing - Dacia: Dacia is not interested at the moment(maybe in the future)
Riccetti Competition - Dodge: Dodge joins the series

At the moment we have 4 new customer teams and 3 new manufacturers. Btw. If nobody who joins the series takes the Lexus works team i'll run it semi-RNG contolled

Since this was only an attempt to see if Porsche would join, I won't run Team Manthey now that the bid has failed (they run the factory Porsches IRL). I'm just trying to keep the realism aspect in the series.

So, without further ado:

Team Name: Team Yoshida
Nationality: Japanese
Manufacturer: No
Felipe Baby, Stay Cool

I have to admit that i'm really sad that Porsche didn't join but the RNG sayed no, would have been a nice battle.
Changing the teamname is of course possible because Manthey not running Porsche would be unrealistic.

Btw. At the moment i'm trying to build a calendar, so if you have any suggestions please post them here. It will have 12 races in the first season.

Riccetti Competition is thrilled to be partnering with the Fiat/Chrysler group and Dodge, as well as the Molar parts division and the SRT performance division.

We suggest the following races: Two North American races at the great sportscar tracks of Road Atlanta and Mont Temblant

Four European races at Spa, Paul Ricard, Monza and Silverstone

And two Asia/Oceania races at Fuji and Phillip Island.

That would give us a nicely balanced 8 race schedule.

Okay, I have thought about it, and I have 12 tracks that I think would fill the calendar void quite nicely.

North America

Since this is a world championship, you might as well come to North America. I suggest racing at Mont Tremblant, which is a fast, exciting track, to give the drivers a joyride. I also suggest racing at Road America, as it has proven to be a great track for racing. Circuit Gilles Villeneuve wouldn't be a bad candidate either if you want a street race. Heck, have all three of them. That would make for some great action.

Europe

Europe obviously has the most tracks to choose from on the racing department. I think we should race the full Paul Ricard layout, for the great racing and high speeds. Spa is an obvious one. You want little downforce? Go for Monza or Silverstone. You want a simply awesome race? Nürburgring Nordschleife. Salzburgring would be a spectacle as well. These are by far the best tracks to go to. So go for it. Don't go to drab Hockenheim. Don't go to Mondello Park!

Asia / Oceania

There are many glamorous options available. The Suzuka 1000 km should stay. Fuji should also stay with its 500 km race. But what could we do fill the void? I'd suggest going big in Australia. Why don't we go to Adelaide? Why don't we go to Mount Panorama? Well, just don't schedule either races around the time for V8 Supercars, because V8s don't need any attention taken away. And don't make either race 1000 km or 500 km respectively. Because we don't want to have ripoffs on our schedule anyway. I think we could also go to Sepang as well, but it's not as big a gem as Australia for the racing.

Suzuka and Fuji must absolutely stay. In the end, while the name has been expanted to incorporate 'World', this is still Super GT. Japan must retain a large presence in the championship. A race at Motegi would also be a good choice.

Rob Lomas Racing would rather go to Autopolis rather than Motegi because Autopolis is just better in every single way. A 1000km race at Tsukuba would be quite epic as well. As for races in Europe, we had thought of the Nurburgring 4 hours and a long distence race at Cadwell Park. A race at Ledenon in France and a round at Knutstorp in Sweden would be great for the fan base of the series. As for North America, the 4 tracks we had in mid were Sebring, Road America, Laguna Seca and the indycar track at Toronto.

So, i came up with 2 ideas now which i would like to present:

Idea 1
This is a pretty much finished calendar with 4 tracks at Europe, Asia and Amerika each.
Asia
Suzuka
Fuji
Yeongnam
Adelaide

Europe
Spa
Paul Ricard
Norisring
Donington

America
Interlagos
Mont Tamblant
Road Amerika
Montreal

Each leg features one street race.

Idea 2
Why don't let the RNG decide the calendar?
We decide on about 10-15 tracks for Europe, Asia and America each and than let the RNG decide which 4 of each category should go on the schedule.
We could of course also set one track from each area that stays on the calendar every year. f.e. Suzuka, Spa and Montreal.

Now please tell me which idea you like the most.

Stick with Idea 1. I think if we want calendar changes, there has to be something like, say, a majority vote or something like that.

Or, I'd suggest that every season one track is replaced. There are tracks that shouldn't go (Suzuka and Fuji absolutely cannot disappear from the calendar, and I think Mont Tremblant, Spa, Paul Ricard, and Interlagos shouldn't go either) so maybe with the last 6 not being as important, and RNG is run do determine which one goes, and an RNG to determine which track replaces the track that goes.

Let's get started with car development:
Only manufacturer teams are allowed to build cars. Customer teams have to buy cars.

Developing a new car costs 1m$, while building a car costs 200k. After the car is built you can sell it or use it on your own.
Each year the car will get worse.

Development Focus:
Focus 1 has to be either on the engine or the chassis.

Focus 2 has to be on one of this 8 areas:
Chassis weight
Downforce
Top Speed
Chassis Reliability
Engine weight
Power
Fuel Consumption
Engine Reliability

Upgrades:
There will be 3 different kinds of upgrades:
Tier 1 50k
Tier 2 150k
Tier 3 250k

With these upgrades you upgrade only one stat from one of your cars at a time.

Manufacturer:
Car model:
Focus 1(Engine, Chassis):
Focus 2(one from the list above):
Prize tag:
