2016 Lawnmower Race

Since I enjoyed last year's event so much, the RWRS Lawnmower Race will make it's return!

Similar to last year, the format will consist of 4 heat races, each with (ideally) 20 drivers. This time though, the top 8 from each race advance to the next round. Each of the 32 remaining drivers will be randomly placed into 4 more heats, and the top 4 from each advance to the finals, which are simply 1 on 1 elimination races until a champion is found.

Also like last year, drivers will be allowed to challenge others after the event, and this year I'll throw in some special races (for example, I plan to have one to determine which team in the ASMF has the best young driver program).

Entry rules:
For now, each user can enter a maximum of 4 drivers for the main event each (if we struggle to get to 80 entries, I'll let extras in). The only restriction is that they must have entered any race in any series in the ASMF during the 2016 season. Other than that, there's really no rules.

Lawnmower colour: (No actual liveries, everybody chooses a colour and I'll just put a flag and name on the side

Also, the alcohol restriction is temporarily lifted. Try to behave yourselves this time

How'd you guess?

As an added bonus, someone even made the Go Kart Route 2 from V8SC3, so I don't even need to change tracks for it :mrgreen:

On a related note, tristan, Jung, Mortarhouse and O'Connell won't be allowed to participate because they haven't done any racing in 2016 (you know, the one rule I had). I may let Jung in since he entered the short-lived RRT, but Mortarhouse and O'Connell definitely won't be in.

I presume this will be organised on a date which clashes with the least events possible. In which case Nikolai Nurmovitsch would be interested in ending his racing career with a bang. :mrgreen:

I should have pointed that out, it'll be on the 17th and 18th of December, which means it clashes with nothing. Can I have a number and colour for Mr Nurmovitsch please?

Junior Bannock has done his fair share of lawnmowing in Jamaica. SARS driver Ganesh Basnet qualifies by virtue of having once raced a lawnmower down a mountain in Nepal, and his team-mate Raju Chalise is along for the ride despite having never driven anything slower than the Himalayas Racing SARS vehicle.

If you can point me to a race where they did take part, then they can start. Otherwise, they're out.

Also, Fantomette, both #45 and #500 have been taken, so you'll need new numbers for da Cunha and Vercuisse for them to be added to the entry list.

Well, both of them will compete in Rejects-1, but since that hasn't started yet, I may be out of luck, as they haven't technically "raced" yet. I may be able to find drivers though if my entry can't go through.

EDIT: If this is the case, I can run Jukka-Pekka Kankaanpää in the #84 and Clément Grandmaison in the #222.

The reason the first two were turfed out is not because Rejects-1 hasn't started yet, but because it's set in 1994, which most people can tell isn't 2016.
Good news though, Kankaanpaa and Grandmaison are both cleared to compete - except that the #222 is already taken, so you'll need another number.

I was going through the 2016 calendar and noticed this event, among a few others, as not having run yet. So, is this going ahead?
