Seeing as I'm next in the waiting list, that makes me first in line to take over Red Bull. However, I'd rather not run Red Bull, to be honest, so if I can retain my position at the top of the waiting list, roblomas52 or another user can take over the team.

Thank you very much for offering me the chance to run Red Bull.

Anyway, here are the test plans...

Team: Red Bull
Drivers: Lewis Hamilton and Jean Eric Vergne
Investment: 36 million
Strategy: Immediately
Brothel: High Class, preferably with a nice bar

No test for Brabham, or at least we will invest no money and will drive with our usual drivers. If I am to fill the form, let it be so:

Team: Brabham
Drivers: Michael Schumacher and Jarno Trulli
Investment: no (0)
Strategy: no

Alright, with testing underway, let's talk about another new feature:

The F1 Young Driver's Draft

In this, each team in Formula One may pick one driver out of a group of 30 nominated drivers. The team that picks that driver has the so-called "right of first refusal" for the next four years. That basically means that whenever said driver is offered a drive by another team, the drafting team may match the terms and thereby force the driver to sign with them instead of the other team.

Until the end of the season, this is only relevant for you for two reasons:
- You can use your potential draft pick as a trading good, i.e. sell it for money, a driver contract, whatever have you. Any such deals must be announced in this thread though.
- If you wish to enter a fictional driver into the draft, you can do so.

Contrary to the name, there is no age limit. You can enter any driver that would normally be allowed in Alt-F1 and that has NEVER participated in a F1 or IndyCar race. Entries will be open until all 30 slots are filled or until the fourth-to-last race of the season, whatever happens first. I will occasionally add real-life drivers to the list, so if you want a spot, better be quick. Furthermore please note that the right of first refusal will override the normal rule for fictional driver selection, so if you enter a fictional driver in the draft, you are accepting that he may land at any team.

Drivers entered in the 2014 Young Driver's Draft:

Code: Select all

Aaro Vainio
Alex Lynn
Brendon Hartley
Carlos Munoz
Carlos Sainz, Jr.
Daniel Ricciardo
David Cassidy (Salamander)
Dmitry Suranovich
Felipe Guimaraes
Jack Hawksworth
Jeb Burton
Jolyon Palmer
Kevin Magnussen
Kyle Miyata Larson
Marcus Ericsson
Marvin Kirchhöfer
Nico Müller
Pål Varhaug
Raffaele Marciello
Renger van der Zande
Richie Stanaway
Roberto Mehri
Robin Frijns
Roland Steichen (Pasta)
Sam Baromono (HawkAussie)
Simone Bizzarri (biscione)
Stoffel Vandoorne
Tim Macrow
Will Stevens
Valterri Bottas

The draft will happen after the end of the 2013 season. This post is only for organising things.

Sam Baromono is interested in joining the Young Driver's Draft after just losing the championship title in the GP2 series by 4 points from David Cassidy.

#3 Jacques Villeneuve - 8
#4 Alexandre Voeckler - 8
#5 Nico Rosberg - 5
#7 Evgeny Restov - 5
#9 Sergio Pérez - 8
#10 Jake Rosenzweig - 11

#28 Mark Webber - 20
#73 Jeroen Krautmeir - 10
#74 Felipe Massa - 3
#77 Sebastian Vettel - 5
#80 Giancarlo Serenelli - 8

-- Positives --
James James Davies - another dominating drive by a man who obviously wants to become world champion.

Lewis Hamilton - he could not beat Nico Rosberg in the end, but the world champion is back in business.

Sauber-Ferrari - good haul of points for the Swiss team.

Riccardo Agostini - brilliant drive by the Italian newbie to grab INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE and his first points in Formula One.

Villeneuve-Hyundai - great pace lost through technical issues.

-- Negatives --
Vitaly Petrov - you'd expect a title contender to get a better result.

Mercedes - not a very lovely performance by the Germans.

Jean-Éric Vergne - he should have really made more of his chance, the Red Bull is very competitive this weekend.

Brabham-Hyundai - Trulli drops to the end of the field and Schumacher crashes out, this is what REJECT OF THE RACE is all about.

Yuji Ide - uninspired retirement from the race as his team mate got himself on the podium.

Johnny Cecotto, Jr. - brilliant drive by the Venezuelan talent.

Riccardo Agostini - after Q1 exit, this tenth place looked unlikely.

-- Negatives --
Mark Webber - uninspired drive by the Australian

Evgeny Restov - the Russian was, ever so slighty, too slow.

Caterham-Renault - kind of missing pace out there.

Title Contenders - both made embarrasing driving errors and get REJECT OF THE RACE along with zero points.

Giancarlo Serenelli - could not get anything done before retiring.

#73 Jeroen Krautmeir - 10
#74 Felipe Massa - 3
#77 Sebastian Vettel - 5
#80 Giancarlo Serenelli - 8

-- Positives --
Mark Webber - some would argue without Petrov's tyre problem he would have never won but it is not like those voices matter.

Sebastian Vettel - another very valueable podium for the struggling McLaren team.

Felipe Massa - two fifth places in a row get Massa today's INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Caterham-Renault - back in the points with both cars again.

Milos Pablovic - you know you have some talent if you can finish ninth after two accidents.

-- Negatives --
Brabham-Hyundai - good pace goes nowhere thanks to horrible pitstops.

Jeroen Krautmeir - as inspired as his team mate was, it did not translate to Krautmeir's side of the garage.

Villeneuve-Hyundai - must have wanted more but random technical problems and ALV's spin prevented more.

Nico Rosberg - spinning out of the lead under pressure and retiring gets you REJECT OF THE RACE along with zero points.

Giancarlo Serenelli/Jake Rosenzweig - quite uninspired performance before stupid crash.

It could've been worse, though, I guess.

There will be a temporary change at Villeneuve Racing;

To try and cash in on dem local monies and support, for the Vancouver round only, Alexandre-Laurent Voeckler will be benched, in favour of Robert Wickens.

Re: The Current Era - Alternate F1 - 2013 Season

Post by Onxy Wrecked »

Milos Pavlovic will be replaced by Mikhail Aleshin at Stefan GP effective after the rounds in Spain. The Serbian Government money is good, but I realize that Milos is a bit too erratic with his talent. He has driven very well for us, but I fear that he might never reach his potential given his age at 30 while Aleshin is both younger and faster by a significant margin of about a second a lap. Milos is certainly a good driver, and worth every bit of his salary but I see the writing on the wall and that is Mikhail is a much better driver. I will pay Aleshin 8M for the rest of the season.

Penalty Points after the race:
#1 Lewis Hamilton - 10
#3 Jacques Villeneuve - 8
#4 Alexandre Voeckler - 8
#5 Nico Rosberg - 5
#7 Evgeny Restov - 10 (+5 for causing an avoidable accident involving the driver of car #32 (Daniel Juncadella)
#9 Sergio Pérez - 8
#10 Jake Rosenzweig - 11
#11 Michael Schumacher - 5
#12 Jarno Trulli - 2
#27 James James Davies - 4
#28 Mark Webber - 20
#31 Milos Pablovic - 10
#73 Jeroen Krautmeir - 10
#74 Felipe Massa - 3
#77 Sebastian Vettel - 5
#80 Giancarlo Serenelli - 8

-- Positives --
James James Davies - took the lead after the first round of stops and kept it until the very end.

Vitaly Petrov - while his main rival is gaining more and more of an advantage, this podium was important for his morale.

Pedro de la Rosa - amazing run at his home race to get 5th and another INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Yuji Ide - unlike his team mate he actually secured the points he had earned.

Jacques Villeneuve - anytime you can come back from the back of the field due to a broken front wing to miss the points by only five seconds, you did well.

-- Negatives --
Jarno Trulli - the guy who gets pole tends to expect more than 10th.

Mercedes - once more, their pace was atrocious.

Evgeny Restov - if the minimum you have to do to get REJECT OF THE RACE is the pitlane speed limit, Restov treated the metaphorical pitlane like an oval course.

Nico Rosberg - second time spinning out of a promising position with nobody to blame but himself.

Michael Schumacher - seemed to not really want that podium at all, his mistakes were very avoidable.

-- Positives --
James James Davies - brilliant fighting increases his WDC lead to over one hundred points.

Sebastian Vettel - came so close to decisively win for the struggling McLaren team.

Mikhail Aleshin - INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE is well deserved if you score a podium in your first race.

Felipe Massa - beautiful driving by the Brazilian who seems to emerge as Mercedes's team leader.

Villeneuve-Hyundai - great double point-finish for the lovable underdogs.

-- Negatives --
Jarno Trulli - atrocious pace causes him to just not get points.

Jean-Éric Vergne - it's not like Red Bull weren't struggling, but they should and do expect more.

Johnny Cecotto, Jr. - could have gotten points but decided that being stupid is funnier, getting himself a REJECT OF THE RACE.

Sauber-Ferrari - retarded drivers and technical issues result in a horrible race.

KQ-Hyundai - no hope once more for the Korean guys.

-- Positives --
Mark Webber - amazing run by the Australian to reduce JJD's lead a bit.

Sebastian Vettel - second second place in a row is extremely valueable, can McLaren profit from these podiums?

Brabham-Hyundai - third and fourth mean a truckload of points.

Jaime Alguersuari - is the rookie starting to get a grip of F1 as he gets INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE?

James James Davies - a sign of a world champion is that he can get points even if his entire race is cursed.

-- Negatives --
Nico Rosberg - somehow he seems to not be able to handle the Williams car.

Alexandre-Laurent Voeckler - what good is an amazing race if you screw up after a pitstop?

Jeroen Krautmeir - the German once more looks bad when compared to Massa.

Sauber-Ferrari - how can you punish their lack of pace if you are not awarding REJECT OF THE RACE?

Riccardo Agostini - or to be more precise, his luck which just loves to abandon him.

You do know this track was used in 2012 as well, right? As well as the fact that we don't have to adhere strictly to everything that happened in real life?

I actually am. At first I wanted to take F1 to Edmonton, since there are a) no current versions of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve available and b) the circuit moved to RWS1 anyway. I was convinced - by wizzie, if you want someone to point fingers to - that a modification of RL for this purpose is acceptable and given as I love the Vancouver Street Circuit I obviously jumped at that.

I have barely followed this league until recently, so I didn't know that. It did seem a bit odd at first.
