-- Positives --
James James Davies - ruthless as ever, he gets himself closer to what could very well be his first world title.

Vitaly Petrov - even though JJD had the edge on him, Petrov finally looked like a contender again.

Brabham-Hyundai - good finish for the British team in need of points.

Yuji Ide - even though his amazing drive did not get him as many points as it could've, he still earns the INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Villeneuve-Hyundai - double points haul for the Canadian/Italian team.

-- Negatives --
Sebastian Vettel - just another bad race and you must wonder where his career is heading.

Sauber-Ferrari - bad driving costs Swiss team dearly, they missed a chance today.

Felipe Massa - never quick enough to battle for anything worthwhile.

Jake Rosenzweig - all mid-race heroics do not mean anything if you get REJECT OF THE RACE by spinning and losing a whole lap.

Daniel Juncadella - first slip of the day, that's not good advertising for yourself.

James James Davies wrote:Another fantastic result for myself and Mark today, just a shame the FIA decided to bend to the whims of a useless crybaby who doesn't seem to understand the base concept of a race is to go as fast as possible all the way around and not slow down like an octogenarian entering the pitlane. Hamilton's two titles have as much credibility as Dan Moreno's - if you'd put me in that McLaren or that Red Bull last year you'd see a title win along the lines of this year.
Sebastian Vettel wrote:If I was good at losing I wouldn't be in Formula 1.
Everything's great.
I'm not surprised about anything.

-- Positives --
James James Davies - can anything stop the Brit but himself?

Michael Schumacher - legendary performance by the German who takes another podium to aid Brabham's cause.

Felipe Massa - an amazing performance from the Brazilian to finally use the potential of the Mercedes and earn INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Villeneuve-Hyundai - fourth and fifth is brilliant racing by this new team.

Robert Kubica - if he was not surrounded by morons, he would have gotten a podium easily.

-- Negatives --
Jeroen Krautmeir - seventh is nothing to be ashamed of, but his team mate was miles better, which makes you wonder: has he now lost the intra-team fight?

Yuji Ide - his team mate made errors, but he was just slow once more.

Nico Rosberg - another REJECT OF THE RACE leaves everyone assuming all Germans are chokers

Stefan-Hyundai - double retirement hurt their cause in the WCC.

Riccardo Agostini - eliminated Webber and Kubica, not making himself too popular with the rest of the field.

James James Davies wrote:Perfect race really, I couldn't ask for more. It's a shame that Mark was eliminated, else we could've had another nice 1-2 here, but that's the way it goes for you - sometimes things are just really stacked against you. I know how tough it can be - early 1999 was very difficult, all entirely for reasons that were out of my control. But still, today I had a great start, and was able to deal with the remaining cars ahead of me as I wished. A perfect race.

-- Positives --
Mark Webber - could he maybe even challenge for the title?

Nico Rosberg - just what Williams needed with Mercedes approaching the WCC.

Sauber-Ferrari - neat performance for the Swiss team.

Riccardo Agostini - even though a major screw-up cost him a podium, this was still his most impressive drive: INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Sebastian Vettel - tragic retirement for the German who would have won this race.

-- Negatives --
James James Davies - angry loser gets involved in brawls.

Michael Schumacher - let's be honest, he didn't even deserve tenth.

Stefan-Hyundai - if not for Mercedes, they'd be the biggest idiots in the room.

Yuji Ide - all those good recent performances are gone.

Mercedes - how can you not give them REJECT OF THE RACE if Felipe Massa wipes himself out on the grid and Krautmeir retires in turn one?

#79 Johnny Cecotto, Jr. - 6 (+6 points for causing an avoidable accident involving the drivers of car #9 (Frederic-Maxime Voeckler) and car #73 (Jeroen Krautmeir))
#80 Giancarlo Serenelli - 8

In addition to the penalty points assigned to the driver of car #1 (Lewis Hamilton), he has also been sentenced to a 30-second penalty.
The drivers of car #73 (Jeroen Krautmeir) and car #79 (Johnny Cecotto, Jr.) has suffered an injury in an accident. They are both out until the 2013 Hasselröder Schwarz Große Preise von Deutschland I. wizzie and Phoenix, you have until the end of the deadline for mid-season test II (to be announced later) to decide on a replacement. RNG will be run for RL drivers and fictional drivers agree at their owner's disgression, as usual. You don't need to specify a wage or sponsorship, it will all be covered by sponsorship and wage.

-- Positives --
Sebastian Vettel - finally he got the reward he deserved for his professional behaviour.

Ricciardo Agostini - while he had to surrender to his experienced team mate, he still gets his first podium and the INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Mikhail Aleshin - podium finisher for Russia, this will help Stefan.

Sauber-Ferrari - healthy performance from the Ferrari-powered team at the Ferrari home race.

Alexandre Voeckler - proper effort by the Villeneuve driver to earn a few more points.

-- Negatives --
Mark Webber - lucky to get one point anyway after his mistake.

Red Bull-Honda - "forgetting" one pitstop and having Vergne be not competitive will not help them.

Caterham-Renault - their lack of pace really hurt them today.

James James Davies - even though Cecotto had a heavier accident, JJD gets REJECT OF THE RACE since you'd expect him of all people to do better.

Johnny Cecotto, Jr. - terrifying accident for the Venezuelan driver.

2013 Mid-Season Test II

Post by Klon »

It's September 10 and the F1 teams have stayed at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the first of two mid-season tests.

Just like 2012 and earlier this season, basically all you have to do is decide how much money you wish to invest in testing new parts: you can choose to buy a five-percent chance at improving your car for €3,000,000, up to sixty percent, i.e. €36,000,000.

A successful upgrade will then involve a RNG roll to see whether it results in minor improvement (increases max grip for both race and qualifying by 50), medium improvement (increases max grip for both race and qualifying by 100) or an extreme improvement (increases max grip for both race and qualifying by 200).

You can choose to run different drivers than your normal drivers at the test if you wish, they will not cost anything nor pay anything nor will they influence your upgrades in any way, i.e. only serve to test out the skill of new drivers.

For teams who have chosen to move their upgrades forward, it is important to note that you technically can get more than 100 per-cent chance of success, but it would not achieve anything, so you may want to consider that in your plans.

Just fill this out and we are ready to go.
Team: Well, duh
Drivers: Well, duh²
Investment: Please only use prices rounded up to the full million

Please have your data ready by June 5th, 1:45 p.m. CEST.

Well, Salamander is right. Although SuperAguri has made the offer to Kekkonen for the test first, so unless the DEC holder objects, he's getting him for that one.

-- Positives --
Nico Rosberg - I guess you can moon the competition if you are surviving and winning such a grueling race.

Lewis Hamilton - great run by the world champion to get on the podium.

Yuji Ide - a fourth place gives Williams even more points and earns him .

Voeckler Family - first nephew and uncle pair to grab points in Formula 1, which gets them INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Jake Rosenzweig - the first point for the guy that could very well be called the joke of Formula 1.

-- Negatives --
Daniel Melrose - tries to be a master ruseman, but is now only the master monkeyman.

Felipe Massa - there is literally no justification for spinning five times within one race.

Michael Schumacher - took Grosjean out and ruined Romain's comeback.

Sebastian Vettel - REJECT OF THE RACE for causing the perhaps single biggest pile-up in recent F1 history.

Mark Webber - you won't win a world title when you can't make your races last longer than 50 metres.

The National Post, Eh wrote:Jacques steps aside to help fund next season

With Villeneuve Racing struggling to make ends meet, and much uncertainty over their continuation into 2014, team principal and lead driver Jacques Villeneuve has made the bold decision to step aside, in favour of a well financed driver, to help pay the end of season bills, and ensure his team will continue into 2014.

The lucky driver in question is a relative unknown - Russian rookie Vadim Kogay will make his top flight debut.

James James Davies wrote:*sigh* ... it's kids, isn't it? Stupid kids driving way over their head, and the rest of us have to pay the price. Vettel's been threatening to bathplug us all over like that for years now, but the FIA ignored every god damn warning sign. Mistakes can be forgiven - hell, even I make mistakes occasionally - but Vettel was clearly driving way over his head, lap after lap, race after race, year after year. You can see it in how many results he thrown down the toilet - the number's so damn high I'd be surprised if anyone can give an exact amount. This kid's tossing his whole damn career down the toilet - his decision, obviously, but the more he does this the more chance he ruins someone else's race, or indeed, everybody's race as he did today. If he screws up on this scale again, the FIA need to kick him out of F1, because it's clear he doesn't have any interest in driving with any skill at all.

Evgeny Restov - valueable second place gives him 18 points.

Vitaly Petrov - clawed closer to JJD which makes you wonder whether he can open up the title race.

Lewis Hamilton - amazing late race run where he even passed JJD on track gets him INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Daniel Melrose - had his suspension not betrayed him, he would have grabbed a podium for Mercedes.

-- Negatives --
Jaime Alguersuari - spintastic performance by the young Spaniard.

Mercedes - double suspension failure could have ended up with people hurt.

Ricciardo Agostini - threw away possible good result.

Giancarlo Serenelli - in his last race he gets REJECT OF THE RACE for causing a massive crash with Ide.

Michael Schumacher - too enthusiastic at the start.

-- Positives --
Nico Rosberg - apparentely, nothing could stop the German in Germany, not even rain.

Robert Kubica - brilliant run by the Polish driver to secure second.

Ricciardo Agostini - the best way to deal with the threat of a new driver is to beat him.

Felipe Nasr - even though he lost to Agostini this time, 20 points in his first GP weekend will make teams take note of him.

Pedro de la Rosa - overcame a bad qualifying effort and a noticeable lack of pace to get a bunch of points and INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

-- Negatives --
Red Bull-Honda - amazing qualifying effort turns out to be smoke and mirrors (WOAH!)

Mark Webber - couldn't handle the humidity on the track and just was slow.

Vadim Kogay - atrociously slow in the wet conditions.

Renault - double retirement is not good for business.

Vitaly Petrov - beating JJD at the start only helps if you can finish the race ahead of him and not crash out, earning REJECT OF THE RACE in the process.
