At this point, I'm pretty sure your choices are Rosenzweig, Rosenzweig and Rosenzweig :P

Yeah. You need 30 million in sponsorship, and Rosenzweig is the only driver who has that much.

Everything's great.

Penalty Points after the race:
#3 Jacques Villeneuve - 5 (+5 for causing an avoidable accident involving car #9 (Sergio Pérez))
#12 Jarno Trulli - 2 (+2 for careless driving at the pit exit)
#77 Sebastian Vettel - 5 (+5 for causing an avoidable accident involving car #8 (Robert Kubica))

-- Positives --
James James Davies - one of the most dominating drives in recent F1 history.

Stefan-Hyundai - they are back where they used to be in 2010 and 2011.

Nico Rosberg - good run by the German returning to his old team.

Jaime Alguersuari - earning points in your first race with a team having their F1 debut is a good way to earn the INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Johnny Cecotto, Jr. - seems to not have lost his touch, completely destroyed his young team mate.

-- Negatives --
Mercedes - bad strategy undoes good first half of the race.

Giancarlo Serenelli - at some point, being new doesn't cut it anymore and you are just horrible.

Lewis Hamilton - seems back to his old tricks and threw a reasonable amount of points out of the window.

Sebastian Vettel - a horrible first lap gets him REJECT OF THE RACE and the first penalty points in F1 history.

Yuji Ide - the only technical retirement of the day is never going to look good.

Penalty Points after the race:
#3 Jacques Villeneuve - 5
#12 Jarno Trulli - 2
#74 Felipe Massa - 3 (+3 for causing an avoidable accident involving the driver of car #78 (Riccardo Agostini))
#77 Sebastian Vettel - 5

-- Positives --
Vitaly Petrov - drove like a ten-year veteran to score his first win and INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Evgeny Restov - sure made Petrov work for it, though.

Michael Schumacher - a very neat fourth place for the German.

Jacques Villeneuve - brilliant job by the veteran to get his team some valueable points and price money.

Johnny Cecotto, Jr. - unlucky run by the Venezuelan, who led this race in his Renault.

-- Negatives --
Mark Webber - his race was screwed on the first lap, but he didn't do a good job recovering.

Milos Pablovic - we can try to justify it as much as we want to but if you fail to score points whilst your team mate wins, you look stupid.

Alexandre Voeckler - he was supposed to get VIlleneuve's first points, but decided to choke instead.

Caterham-Renault - failure at the pitstop robs them of possible six points.

Lewis Hamilton - even though the stewards couldn't find punishable fault in his spin, he sure gets REJECT OF THE RACE for it.

Penalty Points after the race:
#3 Jacques Villeneuve - 5
#9 Sergio Pérez - 5 (+5 for causing an avoidable accident involving the driver of car #3 (Jacques Villeneuve))
#10 Jake Rosenzweig - 8 (+8 for causing an avoidable accident involving the driver of car #8 (Robert Kubica))
#12 Jarno Trulli - 2
#27 James James Davies - 4 (+4 for unsportive behaviour to the driver of car #18 (Jaime Alguersuari))
#74 Felipe Massa - 3
#77 Sebastian Vettel - 5
#80 Giancarlo Serenelli - 3 (+3 for causing an avoidable accident involving the drivers of car #2 (Jean-Eric Vergne), car #9 (Sergio Pérez) and car #28 (Mark Webber))

-- Positives --
Vitaly Petrov - another win for the Russian, who looks like a serious contender so far.

James James Davies - while he made mistakes and got penalty points, a drive from 13th to 2nd is always awesome.

Johnny Cecotto, Jr. - drove extremely mature for someone with the reputation of a mad man.

Brabham-Hyundai - despite all the driver errors from the veterans, their car was good enough to grab 18 points.

Antonio da Costa - the only way to score in a horrible car is making use of your opportunities and earning INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE like he did.

-- Negatives --
Everyone but da Costa and Petrov - wet spots stop being an excuse for spinning after the gazillionth time, which means everyone gets REJECT OF THE RACE.

Mark Webber - no heroic comeback after first-lap incident.

Mercedes - their spins really cost them and makes you wonder how long the Swabians are gonna endure this drop in performance.

Lewis Hamilton - he just could not stop spinning.

Jake Rosenzweig - should thank his gods for the invention of the penalty point system, in the old system he would have gotten a race ban.

Red Bull-Honda - a lot of trouble for the team producing last year's driver champion.

Mark Webber - if you escape a ban only because the FIA cannot prove you did your accident intentionally, you are doing a bad job.

However, I have to say I'm absolutely shocked that the FIA came down against Mark for that contact with Petrov - that was a clear-cut racing incident. I think the FIA needs to stop dithering about and get on the case of those Serbian cheaters - we all know they have traction control, and they're loading up Petrov with more steroids than Jose Braggia takes in a week!

The driver of car #9 (Sergio Pérez) has suffered an injury in an accident. He is out until the 2013 Tiffany Monaco Grand Prix I. FMecha, you have until Thursday evening to decide on a replacement. RNG will be run for RL drivers and fictional drivers agree at their owner's disgression, as usual. You don't need to specify a wage or sponsorship, it will all be covered by Pérez's sponsorship and wage.

-- Positives --
Vitaly Petrov - he is back in business, another great run by the Russian.

Evgeny Restov - good strategy by the Russian to get away with a third place.

Yuji Ide - heroic performance by the Japanese star to acquire fourth and INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE.

Mercedes - their pace was awesome, even though their drivers rob them off the rewards.

Jean-Éric Vergne - poor sod would have gotten a podium if not for his KERS eliminating his car.

-- Negatives --
Jeroen Krautmeir - must be unpopular with Mercedes, given as he denied them what would have been a valueable top five finish.

Villeneuve-Hyundai - yet another bad race for the newest team in F1, it's a slow learning process.

McLaren-Mercedes - this season had a really farcial start for the team, earning them this REJECT OF THE RACE award.

James James Davies - had a starting incident with Villeneuve and later couldn't stop spinning on worn out tyres.

Renault - double engine explosion makes leaving work team look stupid.

FMecha, you have until Thursday evening to decide on a replacement. RNG will be run for RL drivers and fictional drivers agree at their owner's disgression, as usual. You don't need to specify a wage or sponsorship, it will all be covered by Pérez's sponsorship and wage.

46 year old Prost GP champion Frederic-Maxime Voeckler is interested! ;)

-- Positives --
Mark Webber - after failing to get the job done yesterday, he won his first race for Ferrari; can he win more?

James James Davies - he was sent to the back of the field on lap 1 but fought back with heart and power.

Nico Rosberg - a great podium for Williams, can they capitalise on Rosberg's decent performances?

Michael Schumacher - countered a bad strategy with awesome driving.

Sauber-Ferrari - yet another double points finish for the Swiss champions.

Felipe Massa - despite clearly lacking pace in race II, he keeps his streak of points finishes alive and gets INFINITE IMPROBABILITY DRIVE OF THE RACE by default.

-- Negatives --
Sebastian Vettel - must be disappointed with his strategy.

Mercedes - the Republic of Ireland really isn't too welcoming to the German team right now.

Caterham-Renault - finishing 11th and 12th is kind of disappointing, isn't it?

Lewis Hamilton - silly accident on pit exit could have easily earned him even more penalty points.

Ricciardo Agostini - no, it is not possible to retire due to crashing whilst trying to avoid a hostile car and not get REJECT OF THE RACE

2013 Mid-Season Test I

Post by Klon »

It's May 15 and the F1 teams have stayed at the Kerry International Circuit for the first of two mid-season tests.

Just like 2012, basically all you have to do is decide how much money you wish to invest in testing new parts: you can choose to buy a five-percent chance at improving your car for €3,000,000, up to sixty percent, i.e. €36,000,000.

A successful upgrade will then involve a RNG roll to see whether it results in minor improvement (increases max grip for both race and qualifying by 50), medium improvement (increases max grip for both race and qualifying by 100) or an extreme improvement (increases max grip for both race and qualifying by 200).

You can choose to either use the new parts immediately, i.e. the RNG whether your upgrade is successful or not is done directly after the test, or develop them further, i.e. the percentage you buy at this test is added on to whatever percentage you buy at the second test.

You can choose to run different drivers than your normal drivers at the test if you wish, they will not cost anything nor pay anything nor will they influence your upgrades in any way, i.e. only serve to test out the skill of new drivers

Just fill this out and we are ready to go.
Team: Well, duh
Drivers: Well, duh²
Investment: Please only use prices rounded up to the full million
Strategy: Whether you want to introduce the upgrades immediately or wait for the second test

Please have your data ready by April 24th, 7:30 p.m. CEST. That date will also serve as the deadline for your "Brothel" options, so you may edit your original chassis post until that point to declare your investment in ladies for this season. Furthermore, HawkAussie could you please confirm whether your statement in the chatroom still applies.

Seeing as I'm next in the waiting list, that makes me first in line to take over Red Bull. However, I'd rather not run Red Bull, to be honest, so if I can retain my position at the top of the waiting list, roblomas52 or another user can take over the team.

Everything's great.
I'm not surprised about anything.
