Stephen Fry - F1 Prophet?

Post by fondmetal-fond »

I was watching an old episode of "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" (may be meaningless to those outside the UK), and there was a sketch making fun of Prost in his 1991 Season with Ferrari. Laurie was playing Prost, moaning as usual about the 642. Fry played the reporter.

The prophetic bit? He called the driver Michael

I think it's in season 2. If you search "fry and laurie f1" on youtube, I think there's a clip of the sketch in its entirety. It ends with Prost (Laurie) getting punched :D

Yes, well, we had a lot of problems with the car.

Everything's great.
I'm not surprised about anything.

This sketch always confuses me a bit - the establishing shots are from 93 (and he's called michael), but the rest of the script is pure 1991 Prost.
Probably one they wrote earlier, but didn't film until that series.
I coined the term "Lewisteria". The irony is that I actually quite like Lewis Hamilton.
