Alright, fine then. Boxtel is not showing up to the next round and selling its chassis before the year ends, as per Biscione's advice. And if that isn't allowed, and Aerond spontaneously closes the loophole, then we're just gonna show up with Lamberigts and Voeckler anyway.

The rules say no:

1.1.16 Teams that voluntarily break Article 1.1.12 (it's 1.1.13, I'll correct this) will also face disqualification and a credit penalty as stipulated in Article 1.1.14, as well as lose all TV money for the season as a result of breaching the TV rights contract.

1.1.13 Each team must enter two cars for all championship events.

Anyway, regardless if I read that message or not, please put, or make someone put your driver changes on wiki.

I thought the rule was forums or it didn't happen?

Retcon time perhaps?

Anyways,

It's official: Bosevic out of ArrowTech
The rumours of Mirko Bosevic's reign at ArrowTech - and perhaps his career in the F1RWRS as a whole coming to an end were confirmed as The Fox announced that Bosevic would not race for the team in 2017. "It is quite sad to see a driver which has loyally driven for us go, but it is what needs to happen for the team to progress. We think that having a younger driver would be beneficial to the team, and would bring enthusiasm into the team."

The Fox wouldn't comment on the names he was considering, but press speculation cites Mecha/Gauthier driver Hansuke Shioya, F2RWRS driver Marie Simon and Boxtel refugee Andrea Battani as the favourites so far. Speculation also cites that Rosco Vantini was talked about his 2017 options, and that he said that he would prefer to stay in a junior series in 2017. Other outside names include Jean-Vincent Albertini, Pippa Mann, and Hagane Shizuka.

I believe the protocol is it has to be on BOTH the wiki and the forum for it to be confirmed.

And to be honest, editing the wiki page to add some drivers in isn't much more difficult than 2+2. People think it's rocket science but it's really not that hard.

That is true. It now seems a long, long time since you could guarantee that a Foxdale would get pole and then dominate the race (until their inevitable engine failures...).

Nothing can redeem this season for you. I think Argentina permanently broke any sort of positives Foxdale may have had. Martin McFry suffered from the largest bout of roid rage I've ever seen.

Autosport wrote:Jones furious as title handed to Alitalia
Puncture for Davies and a lacklustre Mestolio leave team empty handed in Japan

Sammy Jones was visibly furious in the aftermath of the season-ending Japanese Grand Prix earlier today. In a chaotic race his team's lead driver and recently crowed champion Rhys Davies suffered a rare retirement when a puncture put him out of the race. Alongside a hopeless performance from teammate Fredo Mestolio that saw the Italian lapped and out of the points, it ensured that bitter rivals Scuderia Alitalia clinched the constructors' championship by an unbelievable one point as Ron Mignolet took the victory.

In monsoon conditions, drivers up and down the grid were visibly struggling with their cars, but Alitalia driver Nathanael Spencer, the 2011 champion, put on a masterclass of a performance and led the field by over a minute before his untimely demise with transmission failure. This however was not before the 2016 drivers' champion Davies had pulled off with his right rear Dunlop in tatters. Having run in fourth position for much of the race, had he continued running after Spencer's retirement, Jones would have completed the double and collected both titles.

As it was, a titanic scrap for the victory was played out by Mignolet, HRT driver Frank Zimmer and German David Neuberg of Kingfisher, with all three taking turns in the lead as they fought in the soaking conditions. Ultimately Mignolet was able to assert his authority and by the end of the race held a gap of just over a second to Zimmer who brought HRT their best result in an F1RWRS race in years, with Neuberg sealing an emotional podium for Kingfisher in what has been a tough year for the young British team.

For Jones however, the race couldn't have gone much worse and in scenes reminiscent of four years earlier when in 2012 he and Chris Dagnall lost both titles in the final race of the year to Pippa Mann and Anglo-Manx Racing, the constructors' title for which his team had seemed cast iron favourites since the halfway point of the year has slipped from his grasp once more. For Jones, the blame lies squarely at the feet of the Italian drivers that have sat in car number 4 in 2016,

"It's an absolute f***ing travesty. As a team we've worked our arses off all year, and have been paid back with the hopeless, spineless, abject performances that are symptomatic of lazy incompetent idiots such as Vantini and Mestolio. Sure, Fredo got us the victory earlier in the year in the US and that was great, but where the hell was he when we needed him most? F***ing around at the back with his pay driver buddies getting lapped by real drivers with real talent like Spencer and Davies who is the most deserving champion in this series since Gary f***ing Cameron. God I'm f***ing angry! If Vantini had any f***ing sense he could have had another quality year but instead he's f***ed up our title ambitions and let Alitalia sneak by and snatch it from our grasp. It wouldn't surprise me if all those f***ing Italians were colluding against my team the entire f***ing time. Can't trust any of them. I'll never employ another Italian driver again for as long as I live! Gahh!"

Reporters were quick to point out after Jones' outburst that he still employed Italian Roberto Dinella who is widely tipped to drive for Jones' F2RWRS team in 2017. To this Jones added,

"I have an agreement with Roberto, and with Lampre his sponsor, and we will honour that for 2017. But that doesn't mean I'll treat him with any additional compassion or respect. He's there to do a job and if he can't f***ing manage it either then he'll be out on his arse just like Vantini and Mestolio are! MRT can take Fredo and his mafia money and when they find out just how f***ing terrible he is, maybe they'll sympathise with how I'm feeling right now! Someone get me a f***ing drink!"

After Jones's outburst regarding Italians I feel tempted to make a Nazi joke but sadly I got no character who's edgy enough to do that. :?

Speedcafe.com wrote:Davies happy despite early end to final race
Retiring F1RWRS champion Rhys Davies has remained upbeat, despite his final race coming to an early finish due to a puncture.
"I was very disappointed that it had to end that way, both with the puncture and with the team losing the WCC at the death, but that's the way things are sometimes," Davies said post-race. Normally not a driver willing to put up wth mechnical failues, Davies refused to pin blame on Jones or Dunlop. "I'm just happy that it's over. And on the bright side, reliability won me the title this year, rather than costing it."
As a sign of his attitude, Davies is believed to have taken the right rear tyre that ended his career back to Australia with him.

Since the season is now over, I believe it's high time that someone started the ball on ROTY voting rolling. As usual, you have to nominate a top 3 (honourable mentions are optional), and as far as I'm concerned, if you can provide legitimate reasons, then voting for yourself is fair game (unless the overlord decides otherwise). By decree of the overlord, voting is open to team owners and people on the waiting list only.

Anyway, my votes are as follows:

3. Rosco Vantini: If you told someone that this guy was an F1RWRS race winner, you'd been laughed out of the building. The minute MRT refugee Rhys Davies joined the team, the writing was seemingly on the wall for the young Italian, who collapsed to scoring a paltry 3 points in the 10 races he was Davies teammate, including several awful performances in 2016. After being sacked from the Jones team, he found a one-off gig at Prospec, but even they weren't interested in his services as he buggered off to his former home Falik Arrows in IFRC.

2. Kamaha-Suzuki: To say that their management this year was hilariously bad is understatement of the year. A win each for Tomo Kazama and supersub Hagane Shizuka saved face in what was otherwise a disastrous year. Early bold claims soon gave way to panic, infighting and off track drama at virtually every turn, to the point where their future as a team was seriously in doubt for most of the year. Somehow, they recovered to 7th in the WCC by year's end, but it was far from a vintage year for the Japanese squad.

1. Melrose Racing Team-BMW: For the reigning Constructors' champions with the three-time Driver's champ Mark Dagnall, the return they got on 2016 was abysmal at best. Kay Lon's head was the first to roll in a bout of more Melrose madness, before the Mad Uncle himself was sent packing back to the US while Pierre Depault took over the European operations of the team. From there, the team was scratching their heads trying to fix the obvious reliability issues with their all-new M7 and BMW powerplant, which meant the team slumped to a grand total of 2 wins and four points finishes all year. While they correctly diagnosed that 2016 was a lost cause early on, their rebuilding plan raises more questions than answers, especially on the driver front with incumbent Jean-Luc Schiller and new driver Fredo Mestolio filled with the unenviable task of driving for the Mad Uncle's squad.

I'll open the vote to Tyre Manufacturers and users on waiting list as well, if team owners don't mind.

MARK DAGNALL: I couldn't wait for the season to end

F1RWRS Three Time Champion Mark Dagnall couldn't hide how relieved he was after the MRT suffered yet another mechanical problem at the season finale in Japan "I'm not happy with how things have gone in the 2nd half of the season. I did hope to improve after Long Beach and aim for something better, but the new tyres came and that worsened some problems we were trying to solve, so in the end we didn't have any reliability or enough speed to compete with an improving competition" "Now I just want to rest for a few days and then start to work again, all I want to is take back the title"

Just had to take a look at the wiki to find out the results of the last round. Douglas in 4th, for Foxdale's nest finish of the year? Only points finishes being a 4th, a 5th and a 6th? Boy, have Foxdale fallen a long way since 2013. I would LOVE to have those fast but unreliable days back again...

The Fox: Budgets must be finalized before final decision for 2017
Despite only scoring three points in the last four races, ArrowTech managed to hold on to their best result in the WCC, fourth, in their teams' history. "This is definitely a result that we can build on," says The Fox. "We can make improvements based on what went wrong this season in terms of obtaining a Top-3 Result, and continue what made us win two races this season. It's definitely positive looking into the future."

When asked about his drivers for 2017, The Fox said that he will wait until the budgets are finalized before making a decision. "We can't make impulse decisions, we have to consider what we can financially handle for 2017. We're not poor or anything like that, but we can't be spending lots of money for no good reason." According to reports, there are two main contenders for the second seat at ArrowTech, Marie Simon and Hansuke Shioya, though Bastiaan van Nieuwenhuijzen and Alberto Cara have been cited as darkhorse candidates.

Translation: Not deciding until the budgets are released :P

www.sportschau.de wrote:Kay Lon Confirms 2020 F1RWRS Exit

In an exclusive interview with ARD, Kay Lon talked about his plans for the next years. He states that he has "two or three years" left before he will close the chapter of F1RWRS in his life. Despite the fact that he would only be 28 by the time of his F1RWRS retirement, Lon is worried about staying in F1RWRS for too long: "I mean, look at F1. Guys like Rubens Barrichello and Jarno Trulli virtually staying in the series forever, always clinging to any possible drive like a parasite, are just pathetic. I want to leave as the best in the world at driving F1RWRS cars. In the end, if I can't win the title until 2020, then it would take a miracle to win it afterwards. I won't let my success depend on miracles."

When asked about his professional choices after retirement, Lon noted that he has "various options: there are many series I can go to and earn money. I could drive F1, I could drive for one of the Best In The World™ teams. Maybe I'll leave motorsport and start an actual acting career. The options are endless, which is why I won't think about them until I am actually done here." Asked about Aeroracing and their plans for 2017, Lon claimed that challenging for both titles is the "only acceptable goal". He praised his new team mate and was pleased with the sponsorship he brings to the team. Asked to name the toughest competition for the titles, he claimed that the top five in last year's WCC are all able to compete for the title.

He also commented on his relationship with Phoenix McAllister: "He is a good team manager. Even though some of his choices are questionable - and I think you know what choice I am refering to - that takes little away from his performance as the team's head, brining a struggling team up to the top of the class. I think staying with the team for 2017 is the best choice for me and him." When asked about his earlier rivalry with McAllister, Lon claimed that that was mostly "by proxy", given his personal friendship with Sammy Jones. "In the end, I understand why the two don't like each other and it's none of my business anyway, so I try to be on good terms with both," he commented.

ROTY

3 - Hagane Shizuka - Runs a team that qualifies once all season with two talented drivers in which he is one of the drivers but wins a race with another team.
2 - MRT - Produced a car that was unreliable, had issues with BMW and made Mark Dagnall look silly at times.
1 - Kamaha - However Kamaha, were all over the place. DNQs, 3 DNPQs in a row, Driver walk outs and quiting, spats with the RWRS comission, fines and still managed to luck into a couple of wins. Make them comeduy gold and ROTY.
