Your Reject of the Race - 2013 Monaco Grand Prix

Post by TomWazzleshaw »

Using my old-fart rights to start this thread before qualifying, I must say that Romain Grosjean so far looks to be the clear favourite for the award, with three accidents so far this weekend during free practice.

Romain Grosjean - Very fast, but three practice accidents? That's too much. But I'm not going to nominate anyone before qualifying is over.

Oh Wizzie i was making an bid to become the new Captain Hammer :(

Anyway i don't see how the leading candidate can be anyone other than Romain Grosjean who is on an apparent mission to drain his team of as much money as possible via a big repair bill

Why is it THAT important? It's only a thread; people don't need to complain that they didn't open it or whatever.

Whatever failed on Massa's car also deserves a nomination.

I wouldn't say anything bad about Grosjean yet. You can never be certain with Grand Prix racing.

So with qualifying done we are at the midpoint of deciding this award and here's my candidates at the moment

Paul di Resta: Out in Q1 and moaned about things not going his way.

Estebean Gutierrez: I didn't see much of him but considering he only qualified faster than Chilton it was probably for the best

Jules Bianchi's Car: It's not the first time this has happened

The Rain: After all that we still ended up with 2 teams locking out the first 4 places.

Myself: for predicting Massa would be on Pole and take 3rd in the race

Its a pity that the rain didn't happen tomorrow. Monaco is always EPIC when is rains on raceday!

Massa maybe odds on for ROTR (though Mercedes may still be in with a shout if they fail like last time)

Right now my vot is for Jules Bianchi's Cosworth engine. If VDG was epic in today's QF, Bianchi could've reached Q1!!

Marussia did claim that the use of fire extinguishers on Bianchi's car in Bahrain was precautionary, because a leak in their fuel system spilled a small amount of fuel in an area where it could have been potentially ignited by the heat from the engine. http://www.f1technical.net/news/18335
However, the indication is that Bianchi's problems here in Monaco were for different reasons - they have said that the engine air tray caught fire, hence why Bianchi came to a halt immediately. http://www.f1technical.net/news/18427?s ... 39b42b5ae4

The awkward moment for you when GVDG finishes 9th in a couple of hours time...

But yeah, my nomination at the moment is Paul Di Resta - stop being such a hump and drive the car instead of whinging that your race is already ruined. He's obviously forgotten that "if" is F1 spelt backwards...

- Massa for crashing and being unable to qualify (I've always been his supporter and I'm starting to feeling ashamed of this).
- Grosjean: three crashes in free practices.

TV Director has been absolutely awful as well! Missing overtaking moves/attempts, slow to cross to crashes etc...

EDIT: Also, the unlapping rule... what a waste of time. Just force lapped cars to follow SC into pits at restart, it's not that hard...

Bloody hell, where do we start here?

Sergio Perez - Way, way too aggressive. That attempt on Kimi was ridiculous.
Romain Grosjean - Four crashes in 4 days. Why Romain, why?
Fernando Alonso - His heart wasn't really in it today, was it.
TV Director - PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, can we have proper FOM coverage for next year?
Sauber - Gutierrez spent the entire race fighting Marussia and Caterham, and Hulkenberg was anonymous.
Sebastian Vettel - We could have had a proper fight for the win, if he had that sort of pace in his locker. But no.

But ROTR must go to:

Max Chilton - That was stupid. Really, really stupid.

Close competition here. Usually Romain Grosjean would take it for that brainfade, but I've got to go with Sergio Pérez. Completely out of his depth. It looked like he was playing F1 2012 online.

Fernando Alonso deserves a mention for his impersonation of Giancarlo Fisichella.

Grosjean was obviously trying hard crashing four times this weekend but that's old news. Max Chilton must be the obvious choice making the dumbest move in one place when you know it's gonna end in a vicious crash. No excuses for this one.

People may complain about Perez but the team told him he was too soft earlier in the season and now you can say anything but soft about him. Whitmarsh just didn't realize he unleashed the beast here

Has to go to Marussia for their amateurish attempt at a race this weekend. First they don't run any cars in qualifying due to technical problems, then Jules stalls his car, Max buggers off and causes a red flag, and then Jules does sod all afterwards. Sounds like reject material to me. Though Sergio certainly was trying his hardest to get nominated...

Wow Wow Wow lots of Guys going pick me pick me but here's who i'm going for

Romain Clownjean: He's cost his team a lot of money via a big repair bill with 4 collisions. And for once totally unexpected as he seemed to be sorting it out after Bahrain

Max Chilton: That was ridiculous driving from Chilton and if he was not worried about why he was chosen in the first place he should be now. I think that was Johnny Cecotto in the car there

Fernando Alonso: That was one of the most below par performances iv'e seen from the guy. Considering Vettel finished 2nd that's not good for the title battle

Sergio Perez: I like him but his optimistic attempts at overtaking were always destined for disaster. Also nearly ruined Kimi's perfect points record too

Marussia: Amateur weekend really. Bianchi's car was problematic and the less said about Chilton the better. Caterham trashed them all weekend

Paul di Resta: For moaning that he wouldn't get anything from this race. He finished 9th

Martin Twitmarsh: Has Transformed Perez into a monster

TV director: Frankly i think you would have got more coverage going to the race

Bunsen Jetton: For his non-stop Moaning

Oh Bathplug it ROTR to the entire field except Rosberg Vettel Webber Hamilton Red Bull Mercedes Sutil and Vergne
