Here's a thought: will Willams suddenly become competitive next weekend. Because as we know, their 2011 car was godawful, yet somewhat suited to the circuit, and Pastor would have finished 6th if Hamilton hadn't punted him at the restart, and Barrichello was hanging around in the lower points as well. Maybe the same thing will happen now their 2013 car is a dog.

Well the way he's going in qualifying at the moment you could stick him in that shopping trolley and he'd still stick it on pole

To be fair, a shopping trolley is probably quicker over race distance...

That is due to the rubber compound that Stellana/Elastomeric fits on the trolley tyres. They have chosen the harder one allowing the trolley to be driven in anger over a full distance.

Even though they have raced in other years, I only posted an image for each year there were a Formula One World Championship race.
Hence no images for 1929-1937, 1948, or 1952. When the races were classified as something else.
Some Monaco statistics:
Red Bull has taken pole position and won the race for the last three seasons ('10, '11 and '12).

Brunner and Costa turned out some quite attractive and reasonably competitive cars for Minardi around that time, it must be said.
On another note, would it be cheeky to ask somebody to do me a favour for the Predicament Prediction round for Monaco? I have a field trip and will be away for a week, which means that I'll miss the deadline for the PP thread as I won't be back until after qualifying has taken place. Is there somebody here who can post on my behalf if I send my nominations to them in advance?

I think Jocke1 should be branded the stats man on this forum.
He does anything with statistics. Good work!
As for this year's Monaco race being great, I hope Maldonado scores something here as he is fast around the track. A different matter for Bottas, though.
If Williams don't score here, I'll go for broke and say they won't score anything this year, which may drive Sir Frank absolutely mad.

At least they had those barriers giving them
some protection.
Look at the photographers in the 1966 image, sitting on the sidewalk beside those BP billboards. They're actually facing the cars head-on!
A puncture or a suspension failure and...
Anyone else noticed the
med-kit in the 1950 image? At least someone thought about safety.
