Hey yo ! It's survey time !
As I said in one of my previous posts. "Every driver will make progress during the season".
Well yes and no. I've been planning this for a while, it's now time to post it.

Drivers are classified in four groups, depending on their racing skill value (which was RNG'd before the pre-season).
First group drivers SHOULD be fighting for the top 5. (Because ISI rFactor AI)
Second group drivers SHOULD be fighting for the top 10... etc etc.

Here's the idea, drivers' results would result in "experience" added to their speed value.

Image
It's not super clear as it's an old screenie but yeah... I'm too lazy at the moment to do another one.
(Bonus for fastest lap : Group 1 : 0.05 / Group 2 : 0.10 / Group 3 : 0.15 / Group 4 : 0.20)
Pole position would count as fastest lap if qualifying results are kept in the system.
Everytime the stats are changed, some driver may change of group.

So there are a few options.

1) Make driver stats public :
[a] : Yes.
[b] : Nope.
[c] : No opinion.

2) Implement the driver's results experience this season :
[a] : Yes.
[b] : Nope.avi
[c] : Let me do it, I can do much better.

3) On which basis the stats should be changed :
[a] : Every two rounds.
[b] : Every three rounds.
[c] : What was the question ?

4) Which results should be counted :
[a] : Race results only.
[b] : Race + Qualifying results divided by two.
[c] : I just noticed I was looking at the wrong thread.

1. Against.
2. The third option - "experience vs success ballast" system.
3. Three rounds once.
4. Race and qualifying divided by 2 (and deduced by success ballast)

My only opinion is that driver stats should not be made public. Apart from that, it's your series, your rules.

After looking at the votes, I came to this conclusion :
- Driver stats won't be public
- The experience system will be introduced this season
- Drivers' stats will be re-calculated every three rounds
- (Race + Qualifying results) / 2 will be used

www.lupogticup.com wrote:New non-championship race for 2016
We are happy to announce a new non-championship on our 2016 calendar. The Lupo GTI Championship will join the RTCC and F1RSTC at Groningen Airport in the Netherlands for the Touring Masters event. On this occasion, we will bring our newest engines (currently in preparation) to prepare our 2017 spec Lupos. More informations in the upcoming weeks.

Round 4 : Knockhill
Image
Image
Fastest lap : Koyomi Setou : whatever time on whatever lap because I forgot to write that somewhere

The good :
Koyomi Setou : Impressive race pace, allowing her to take the win. Looks like she wanted more podiums since the one she achieved in the Austrian RTCC race.
Adolfo Moretti : Good performance, for a well deserved podium.
Pedro Renales : He finally woke up this weekend.
Michela Martin : Managed to follow the leading trio for a while before losing pace, a good first points finish.
Aron Kagström : Surprising pole position, but did a mistake that allowed Setou to take the win. A second place is still impressive
Valur Sigursteinsson : First points.
Laurent Couteau : For scoring points when Sugiharto didn't.

The okay :
Deividas Lukauskis : Grabs an opportunistic 8th place after a mediocre qualifying session.
Elisa Jama Yattae : Unfortunately, another pointless race despite a good qualifying effort.

The not so great :
Cecep Sugiharto : In all honesty : Horrible race from him.

Highlights video and championship standings to follow on monday I guess.

As I said in the irc chat, since roblomas has failed to give an answer on if he wanted a guest car or not, you can have it. Your team can participate in the last 3 races (round 5, 6 and 7) but will not be able to compete in the 8th and final round as it's restricted to the 20 regular cars running right now.

Other than that, championship standings have been updated. The highlights video from Knockhill will come... I don't know when... probably before this weekend

You had more than a month to say if you wanted a guest car or not, but I'll let you have it anyways.
Can you do your car livery or should I do it from a request ? Remember, I'm not an artist with liveries.

Round 5 : Oschersleben
Image
Image
Fastest lap : Elisa Jama Yattae - 1.45.429 on lap 8

The good :
Shane Atkinson : Solid race allowing him to score his first points.
P.O.R.E : Both cars on the podium.
Koyomi Setou : Second place places her in the title hunt.
Adolfo Moretti : Another fourth place, he never finished lower than fifth so far this season.
Cecep Sugiharto : For driving way better than at Knockhill where he finished last.

The okay :
Elisa Jama Yattae : Pole position, fastest lap, but driving mistakes in the race prevented her to score more points. Coming back to her pre-season form.

The not so great :
Nebula Grand Prix : Couteau was probably thinking about his victory in the Rejects Dragster Festival. Lukauskis qualified decently, but his race wasn't good. First time this season they're not scoring any point.

Round 6 : Zandvoort
Image
Pedro Renales, Jonas Soderstrom, Yulia Zvarych and Andrei Kolodin all crashed out during the qualifying session, leaving them unable to improve their times.
Image

The good :

Aron Kagstrom : Sometimes, he pulls an awesome qualifying lap out of his hat and gives himself a great chance for the race. He came close to the victory at Knockhill, grabbed the win today.
Cecep Sugiharto : Decent race pace.
Mobil Racing Rosenforth : Two drivers on the podium.
Artur Smolarek : Finally managed to score points.

The okay :
Kristina Harris : Battled against drivers who have more experience than her.
Michela Martin : Top 10 in quali, didn't have much chance to score points but didn't give up.

The not so great :
Elisa Jama Yattae : Crashing out when there was a chance to get on the podium.
Pedro Renales : We thought he was back in business, but he decided to annihilate his chances in the qualifying session. To be fair to his efforts, he scored the fastest lap point.
Deividas Lukauskis : Looks like he doesn't feel good with this car anymore.
Koyomi Setou : Somewhat anonymous today.

Highlights from Oschersleben
Highlights from Zandvoort

Edit : Of course, the german flag has nothing to do on these results prints.

Driver stats were recalculated after Zandvoort.

Round 7 : Zolder
Image
Image
Fastest lap : Chloe O'Sullivan : 1.51.916 on lap 15.

The good :
P.O.R.E : For their 1-2. Renales had the upper hand but decided to throw the lead away when braking to negociate the final chicane.
Michela Martin : Excellent weekend.
Aron Kagstrom : He surprised again, could he be the ultimate-championship-outsider-nobody-saw-coming ?
Gabriela Scopelli : Not a flawless drive as she often was under pressure, but scored points for the second time this season.

The okay :
Jonas Soderstrom : Did the best he could, but that wasn't enough for points.
Laurent Couteau : Keeps the leadership in the championship.

The not so great :
Koyomi Setou : It all started well, pole position, leading... and she spinned out, damaged her car and finished 10th.
Adolfo Moretti, Andrei Kolodin : Nowhere to be seen.
Artur Smolarek : One step forward and two steps back.

Championship standings.

The next (final) championship race (divided in three heats, more infos on the wiki page) will crown the first ever champion of the series.

Season review

James Turner : He was either running near the front, or completely lost around the back. His season could have certainly been better with more consistency.
Pedro Renales : Similar to Turner, but scored two fastest lap. With more efforts he would have been a serious challenger for the top 5 on a regular basis. Too bad...

Andrei Kolodin : Too many crashes in qualifying sessions and races annihilated his chances. He should have had two times more points, had he decided to not throw these away.
Artur Smolarek : If nothing was expected from him, then his mission is accomplished. Ran too much in the midfield and sometimes didn't have enough race pace to challenge the top 8. But 2017 is another year, and he's probably looking forward to it... if Restov Racing decides to keep him.

Manuel Riva : 3 points scoring positions, but only 5 little points. He didn't have the pace to challenge for more.
Yulia Zvarych : After seeing her results this season, it looks like her second place at Brands Hatch was sort of a fluke, but hey, a podium is a podium and she still has years ahead of her. Or perhaps, it wasn't a fluke and she felt good on this track only. I guess I am too harsh, unfair with Zvarych and Riva, as they're only at the beginning of their careers.

Koyomi Setou : What if Setou didn't spin at Zolder? What if she didn't spin (again) and crash at the Nurburgring final heat ? The answer is simple, she probably would have walked away with the title. Was she insatisfied with her performances despite leading ? Anyway, a third place in the final standings isn't bad but will disappoint her. Her future is safe as she was already running in the BITW RTCC outfit and doing good there.
Jonas Soderstrom : The young Swede still has to work on his car control, but he's improving and his podium at the Red Bull Ring was well deserved. He seems to have potential and DRT is most likely retaining him in the team for another year.

Deividas Lukauskis : First part of the season, not too bad... The second was disappointing, he underperformed for three rounds straight before waking up a bit at the Nurburgring. He didn't qualify for the final, but scored the fastest lap. This kind of touring cars wasn't his cup of tea. The Astro Racing Group is rumored to keep him in their drivers management scheme, but in a bigger championship
Laurent Couteau : "The disappointing son" gave some presents to his father, an excellent season and a title. He's young, fast and hardly make mistakes. He will probably go to the RTCC next year.

Kristina Harris : There's not much to say on her, as she raced in three rounds. Her race at Zandvoort was somewhat good.

John Cunningham : Everytime he scored points, he was on the podium, but consistency wasn't his best quality.
Chloe O'Sullivan : Chloe probably wanted to outscore her team mate, given her victory in the last pre-season test. Well, she didn't. She often underperformed despite two fastest laps this season.

Gabriela Scopelli : Sometimes outpaced by her team mate, she closed the gap at the end of the season. Was she trying to save her seat ?
Aron Kagstrom : Knockhill, Zandvoort, Zolder : All great rounds for him. Qualifications seem to be his weakness, but he sometimes does an awesome lap and gives himself great chances for the race.

Valur Sigursteinsson : Not a great season for him, and he would rather forget about it.
Elisa Jama Yattae : 5 points for someone who was probably aiming for the championship's Top 5... Too many crashes, too many spins, not enough efforts, not enough luck. Like her team mate, she's most likely happy that the season has come to an end.

Michela Martin : Often fast in the last stages of the races, but too often the top 10 was already too far away. She improved massively at the end of the season, scoring a victory and a second place that allowed Laurent Couteau to outscore Cecep Sugiharto.

Cecep Sugiharto : A good season for him. He scored 3 pole positions and two victories this year.

Shane Atkinson :
Good showing at the championship finale but he mostly spent his season fighting in the midfield.

Adolfo Moretti : His momentum stopped after Oschersleben. We have no explanations on why his end of the season was unimpressive, and we guess he has no explanations either. That's a shame because before Zandvoort, he had never finished lower than 5th.

Jason Gonzi : Like Kristina Harris, little can be said. He wasn't as successfull as the other guest, but had his battles at the back where he shown the other drivers that he wasn't here to joke around.

Eligible for a RTCC young driver test at the end of 2016 :
Laurent Couteau (Nebula GP, Champion)
Cecep Sugiharto (Mecha GP, Runner-up)
Adolfo Moretti (The Crusaders, 4th)
Aron Kagstrom (Mazzacane Motorsport, 5th)
Michela Martin (Cardel Racing United, 6th)
Pedro Renales (P.O.R.E, winner of the "Senior" of the year trophy)

Koyomi Setou (Davies Racing Team, 3rd in the championship, winner of the Woman of the year trophy) isn't on the list as she's already an active RTCC driver and therefore, doesn't really need that test.

Eligible for an IFRC young driver test at the end of 2016 :
Laurent Couteau (Nebula GP, Champion)
Cecep Sugiharto (Mecha GP, Runner-up)
Koyomi Setou (Davies Racing Team, 3rd)

You are free to decline these tests if you want to.
But remember, if your driver isn't on the lists above, it doesn't stop you to try and move him/her on another series for next year.

Entries for the non-championship round at the Spa Superprix are opened. I'm still not sure how many cars will be allowed to take part in it yet. At worst, I can always split the grid in two and run two races.

Everything's great.
I'm not surprised about anything.
