RWRS Lawnmower Race - 2015

Post by the Masked Lapwing »

Because why not?

In order to decrease F1RWRS Deprivation during the off-season, I've decided to run a special non-championship event using lawnmowers. This will probably be the simplest entry process ever - all I need is a driver. No teams, no car choices, no money to be spent. Just a driver, up to 5 per member. As long as they have raced at some point during the 2015 season from the F1RWRS down to the F1RDS.

The racing itself will be in three parts.
Part 1 will be the heat races, where every driver who is entered takes part. How many there are will be decided when the entry list closes.
Part 2 will be the finals. The top drivers from each heat (16 in all, I'll decide how many per heat later) take part in 1-on-1 knockout races, eventually resulting in a final race to determine the best driver. On a lawnmower.
Part 3 doesn't really count, but if any drivers want to schedule their own races, to see who is the best or to settle old scores, I'll be happy to do special races for them. And I'll probably let extra drives in this part, because I really want to see Sammy Jones vs Alasdair Lindsay

Wiki page + entry list

You have until the completion of whatever Klon's non-championship race was to enter.

Also, for those who want to know, I'm using the Honda Lawnmower series on V8 Supercars 3.

Since Daniel Melrose has better things to do like run Tropico, he won't enter but he'll be more than happy to answer to any challenges from other competitors. Phillippe Nicolas, Mitchell Macklin, Joel Melrose and James Douglas however will all enter.

I'm in with F1 Rejects Super Touring Cup Shane Morris and F1 Rejects IndyCar's Kohei Hirate. We need Honda Mowers!

They didn't compete in the five main series though, so they'll only be allowed to race if I end up with too few entries (I'm willing to go up to 72 entries, which probably won't happen). They'll be fine to take part in the free races though.

This is a silly rule. If Top 5 in F1RICS is good enough for a Rejectlicense, why is not good enough for entry into this series?

While Thiago is eligible through his F3 races, José Pablo is only on the reserve list.

Well, currently Simon Garfünkel has nothing better to do. Whilst Wouter Lamberigts and Ron Mignolet have challenged each other. Gia Van Dycke on the other hand, just wants his/her lawn to be the best in the FxRWRS universe, so this is a good practise session.

McAllister the elder and Fagioli haven't done any races this year, so both will go on to the reserve list.

With those last few entries there are 3 spots left, so the reserve list will probably not be used. However, these drivers (and more) are still free to do any races in Part 3. You can confirm any challenges for this part now if you want, I'll add them to the wiki so I don't forget later.

Indeed that is correct, Hirate is the name of a real driver who never competed in a F1 race, but did a season's worth of testing. It's also a known fact that he is pretty much contractually obligated to Toyota and probably wouldn't be allowed to touch my Cosworth powered IndyCars in real life as they don't have the Toyota name on them. So we have an alternate universe Hirate driving around. Roy Guidry is named as the replacement for Hirate if Hirate is not allowed to compete.

You're on old man! And I'll throw out a challenge to that cretin Rhys Davies as well. And Chris Dagnall, but the latter more out of the spirit of competition than any malice as disliking Daggers is a sin punishable by papaya cannon. Hating on Daggers Jr however is an entirely different ballgame :P
