Your Reject of the Race - Korea

Post by TomWazzleshaw »

I'm gonna start the ball rolling with a nomination for Psy on the basis that if it wasn't for him, this, this and this would have never seen the light of day. :lol:

My early nomination is McLaren - Hamilton on the cusp on getting knocked out in Q1 then Button actually going out in Q2.

-McLaren, Hamilton was nearly knocked out in Q1 and Button was knocked out in Q2.

-HRT: They looked quite weak compared to their performance in Suzuka.

The Korean marshalls - Leaving the yellows out for Rosberg's car is probably one of the daftest things I've seen since... well, this morning actually. Seriously, someone just push it down the bloody service road already

Kobayashi has the award as of now. What the bathplug was that? Paul Tracy would have been embarrassed by that one!! :|
The Marshals were taking naps during this race instead of doing their jobs.
Sauber choked it away for Perez.

Difficult call so far but I wasn't expecting much of the marshals due to such a long gap betweenn races, so for now my choice is my IIDOTR from last week, Kobayashi

Mentions include:
Kobayashi - That was stupid. Very stupid.
McLaren - How could so much go wrong? :lol:
Mercedes - For being generally crap
The marshalls - 8 or 9 laps is way to long to leave a yellow flag at the only good overtaking point.

But the winner:
The Astroturf - Hilarious yet stupid at the same time. Perfect :lol:

So many candidates...

-Kamui Kobayashi for his stupid first lap crash.

-The marshals for failing to remove Rosbergs car for 9 laps

-The Astro turf

-Mercedes for being slow again, they are becoming a candidate for ROTY if they continue like this.

HM's would be Kobayashi, McLaren and Di Resta (for being deadbeat)

My nominations:
The Korean Grand Prix Organisers - The astroturf was a joke (but a hilarious one at that :lol: ), the marshalling at the start of the race was a joke, and the urban development project was, and still is, a joke. Can someone explain to me how this track got on the calender again? :lol:
Mercedes AMG Petronas - They continue to amaze me with every passing weekend with just how low they can go. If I was Lewis, I'd be a very worried man right now
Vodafone McLaren Mercedes - Not that Lewis' current team can do any better mind you :lol:

But my ROTR goes to Kamui Kobayashi for basically snookering himself in that situation and taking out Button and Rosberg in the process.

Honorable mentions;

Marshalls -- What the hell are they thinking about? 10 minutes to get rid of a car perfectly parked at the side? And the turf thing? Hilarious.

Vettel engineer -- What was all that bullshit about reminding Seb every lap he needed to take care of the tyre? It was clear he was going to win anyway. No need to do that mate. Sounded pretty lame.

Kobayashi -- For his Grosjean incarnation.

The race itself -- The podium decided at turn 1. Yeah, felt like 10 years ago.

But the winner is...

PSY's JACKET -- That simply... hurt my eyes.

So far I've seen five examples of it, they started using it in Suzuka;

-UBS tarmac advert on inside run-off at Spoon
-UBS advert high on spectator hill on driver's right at Spoon
-Pirelli advert on start-finish line (like LG in Korea)
-4/5 LG advertising boards on inside of Turn 11
-LG on start finish line at Korea (as you said)

I hate them too :(

Sauber - hero to zero to hero to zero
Korea International Circuit - reasons already discussed
Senna - was he in the race?

Lewis Hamilton - his current team has gone to the dogs and cost him his championship campaign, and his 2013 team is going even worse... Astroturf moment summed up his predicament.

Another one of those "sticking my neck on the line" votes.

Sergio Perez - Can't even beat a McLaren with a rear suspension failure, even on a one-stopper while starting on primes (the only strategy that makes you look good...if you can even call "getting knocked out in Q2 and taking advantage of the terrible rules" a strategy)? Your teammate would've demolished you if it wasn't for the first lap incident. Hulkenberg deserves that drive so much more than you do.
Korea - Appalling. Why are we racing here again? Even the drivers hate it. Horrible track, horrible astroturf, horrible marshals, horrible everything. Oh, and PSY is terrible.

Dishonorable mentions:
* McLaren - Nice job. You just threw away the championship. You didn't even accept Hamilton's goodbye party invitation. Disgusting.
* Kamui Kobayashi - Seriously?
* Sauber - Oh my God.
* Mercedes - Oh my God.

Korea's awesome both as a country and racetrack (if not for the astro turf), PSY's just awesome, though marshalls were sick.
