So Pentecost is from Scottsdale, Arizona, right?

Not entirely on topic, but maybe he should check out this local business...the levels of insanity would work very well together in partnership.

It all makes sense. Everyone in Scottsdale is completely delusional with their heads firmly lodged up their own rectum.

All Pentecost is is a rascal. If he checks out that business, and decides to invest time in it, then we will all be screaming "them bastards!"

By the way, the improper grammar was intended.

Come on Baker let's not be dumb about this. First of all, Ataxia is British, we all know that. Secondly, you can see it's an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, a quick search in recent news on that will tell you everything you need to know about the "Arizona restaurant meltdown", but because I'm so nice, here's a link to the story that has everything you need to know:

Who the hell would go for that and how would it turn out?

This website just keeps throwing curveballs :)

We should raise all the money necessary for Pentecost to launch a team, then put it towards sponsorship for Wickens and Juncadella instead.

I've just thought of something. You know how he's always banging on about a green economy, and how it is a stupid thing because the whole premisis of it is not promoting "a singular solution for green energy", surely that means he's promoting a form of socialism, by restricting the free market to provide only his solution? And yet he hates those "dirty damn liberal commies". Oh Don, you are a crazy old chap.

The vast majority is serious (as far as anyone can tell), but there have been cases of long-time members who wrote a lot of things turning out to be parodists.

I used to call it The Onion Effect, until I found it was known on TV Tropes as Poe's Law. In short, it's where it becomes ever harder to distinguish between satirical articles written about extremist nutcases, and those extremist nutcases themselves.

I called it the Onion Effect as I'd seen an Onion article entitled "Christian Right Lobbies To Overturn Second Law Of Thermodynamics" - where you'd think that even the craziest of nutcases with the thinnest of grip on scientific principles wouldn't be that stupid. Wouldn't you? And yet, I got the dreadful sense of foreboding that somewhere, out there, there is someone who believes that the Second Law of Thermodynaics should be overturned, for exactly the reasons given in the article (plus a complete ignorance of what "law" means in a scientific instead of a legal sense), and it doesn't take much to figure out where in the world that person lives.

Take Conservapedia as a massive and very alarming example of The Onion Effect, Poe's Law, whatever you want to call it. There are people who will take every single word of it as the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, even when edits are made on the page that contradict what it said before, and even when the parodists mentioned above get their way.

Who still wants to live on this planet?

I'm quite familiar with Poe's law, and I'm okay with its existence. The problem with living on this planet is that any of it is real in the first place.

Oh, the American right wing, how you humour me.

The country is a bit backwards really. I go to Fox News for comedy and Comedy Central for news.

At the end of the day though, these people are only ignorant because they're unbelieveably selfish. You can teach them how the world works and they'll still keep doing the same old nonsense. This pretty much sums up why.

Re: Rejected from the word go?

The problem in America is there is very little to no middle ground anymore. Take for example the news, you can either have far-right (Fox, Limbaugh, Beck, Conservapedia) or Far-Left, (CNN, any of the NBC networks, especially MSNBC, and to a lesser extent CBS) and that's about it. I often hear peple claim they watch Comedy Central for news, but even that has spin, although whether its right-wing or left-wing varies week to week: currently with all the scandals involving the White House, it seems to be more ring-wing. Most Americans I know who want REAL news watch BBC actually, myself included.

The same theory can be said of people. For every Don Pentacost-style "Murica f**k yeah!" redneck, there's a crazy PETA member in Cali, burning Hummers and calling people who didn't vote for Barack racist. It's the reason why only about 20% of Americans vote. Its just too damn partisan for most of us (including me a Poly-Sci minor at college) to care. Nixon was right about the "Silent Majority". The thing is though, its silent.

Perhaps "far-left" was a bit overbearing. Admittedly they are the most center-minded of the cable news channels (not saying much) but they certainly are left-leaning. For example, They completely ignored the Philly abortion trial (although to be fair, so did everyone save Fox, and you can imagine how they covered it), and were very slow to cover the IRS and NSA scandals. They certainly aren't as bad as MSNBC, or Fox.

Another problem with America is that people follow their beliefs, like we're supposed to. But this gets in the way with the voting system. People should take into consideration how well they think people can do in an office. Ever since Barack took office, I hear friends calling him names and saying that he is a crap president, and call him names like "Barack Osama," which is just wrong and they need to bugger off. Not to bring serious politics into this, I apologize for that, but Americans don't use common sense. They follow their beliefs and they base their decisions off of that, which doesn't do us any good. Plus, I don't see some Americans following the laws half the dang time because they think the law doesn't apply to them because we are a "free country." Texting while driving is illegal in Pennsylvania, yet I saw someone doing it today

These days, BBC is the best news source that I use. I will look at CNN and MSNBC, only to get the hilarity out of the political crap they talk about, because half of it is nonsense.

The thing about the PETA members burning Hummers and other whatnot need to zark off. Yeah, you might be joking (or not...) The point is, they are making themselves look silly. What's the point? Just because Obama's a black guy doesn't mean we were racist when we didn't vote for him. Bull paddies. Complete and utter bull paddies. I completely understand why 20% of Americans vote. The way Americans think is just nonsense. Not that the American members here or others think nonsense, but I'd think over half of the American population do. It's sad, and these reasons pointed out are why I want to leave this place and move to a place like Monaco. Or France, my dream place to live.*

Pasta, that makes no sense. But then again, the French don't manage the Tour de France that well, either

They can't figure out why their countrymen can't win. Well, everyone else is beating you and you need to do better! :P They got all over Armstrong, and my opinion of his case is that if he didn't test positive while he was in the tour, his titles stand.* They did the same for Wiggins (or I thought), but not Evans. Makes no sense, those French. Again, no offense.

*I might be an American, but the situation as I see it is if he didn't test positive during the tour, he isn't guilty. The fact he claimed he was guilty when he never tested positive for anything during his tour days, his record stands. Now, they will say no one won the tour between 99-05 because on average, three of the top five riders in those years were caught and reprimanded for doping, which is pointless bull paddies.

So, I'm saying I'm not defending Armstrong for the sake of America.
