Great find! I'd love to buy something from there...

The problem is, I can't decide what it would be - I'm still torn between Monaco '70 poster and Hesketh cap. Or maybe I should take that JPS polo shirt?
Gee, all this stuff is so tempting :D

I was initially tempted by the 1980s Monaco prints, then realised the cars used on them are completely out! Rosberg's Williams with number 1 on it didn't race in 84, and nor did the Brabham with number 2 race in 83! That's a massive cock up from whoever designed them!

These would be tempting if they weren't so bloody expensive. Though who in their right mind would want to wear the Surtees Durex one?!

If I had enough spare cash to buy one, the Osella one would be good, or the Baldi Arrows one, though I don't think I'd look great in orange....

If these aren't licensed, I could easily set up a competitor business selling everything for half these prices

But if they [i]are[i] licensed merchandise, then I can understand why it's so pricey...

But on a more serious and non-fictional note, the only thing I have that is even close to retro F1 is an Orange Arrows sweatshirt. Which is only one decade old

Hang on a minute...I had forgotten about my Jaguar Racing polo shirt. But that's still only the same age as the Orange Arrows thingy....

What is noteworthy about them is they had a combined price of £4 brand new

The only thing I have merchandise wise is a Minardi t-shirt from 2005. Bought it for £50(!) when I went to Silverstone for the British GP. At the time, nearly everyone was a Button, McLaren, Williams, Coulthard and Ferrari fan. But me and the handful of Minardi fans would do a little appreciated nod of approval if we saw each other when walking around the track

And I have a Team USA A1GP hat, plus a scale model of the Team GB A1GP car, plus I still have the promotional DVD that A1GP gave away with magazines on the series launch. (I had two, but towards the end of my last degree, I had a subtitling piece of coursework, so I wrote some subtitles for it!)

I have a Team Australia A1GP flag which I'm massively proud of as well as a Holden Racing Team Flag and an old V8 Supercars Hat (When the series was still associated with VB and channel 10 :D )

This is not F1 related. However, there is a connection to Jan Lammers so here goes;

ImageImage

Sorry about the crap image quality. These cost me £6 each new. The left one isn't so clear - it's a poster from the 21st Mille Miglia, which I believe was won by Alberto Ascari.

The second is rather more evident - the 1984 Fuji 1000KM. The white text in the rising sun is the race classification. If you look up the results you'll see a couple of familiar reject names... ;)

I tried, but I couldn't find anywhere listing the results - only that Vern Schuppan was competing, and he's definitely a familiar reject. Who was the other one?

Indeed, Schuppan raced one of the customer 956s with Hans-Joachim Stuck. And right behind them in 4th was Stefan Johansson and Henri Pescarolo in yet another 956. Notable, but not rejects.

Behind those two was the Kremer Porsche of Manfred Winkelhock and New Zealand reject Mike Thackwell! Geoff Lees registered a DNS after his Porsche 956 was written off during practise (I have no idea if it was him or one of his co-pilots driving at the time). Masahiro Hasemi came 17th in his self-run Nissan Skyline, Kazuyoshi Hoshino and Toshio Suzuki failed to finish while also driving Nissans. And, Jan Lammers finished 9th in yet another 956.

And I'm still not finished! Tiff Needell retired after the engine in his Tom's 84C Toyota let go. NOW I think I've exhausted the list

So it seems, there were way more rejects than I first thought

50 quid for a Pacific shirt? Blimey

And, on a similar note, for 15 pounds you can have your very own 1999 Jordan Grand Prix Pit Crew Shirt

I remember when I was about 14 I started making my own F1 t-shirts with stencils, a scanner and iron on transfers because a) I couldn't afford most of what was out there b) the only opportunity, pre widespread internet, was to buy at races and c) they were all designed with blokes in mind and I wanted ladies fit shirts, and something a bit different with the logos. Most of them were fairly rubbish but I did make a Monaco GP one very like the one on the site. I should have set myself up in business with it really.

There's still time to set up your own business. Maybe your USP would be to cater for the female market? It could work...
