The No Shark Fin or F-Duct Alternative Championship

Yes, the bandwagon is soon to collapse, there will only be 2008-2010 as I don't know, or have a way of finding out which races McLaren used it in 1995.

Obviously Mercedes are going to dominate 2010 as Williams started using the F-Duct half way through. With the current points system, we are unlikely to see any races where all the points positions are filled. Drivers who fail to finish will score points provided they have completed 90% of race distance and are classified.

2010
Nico Rosberg 383 (14 wins 1 2nd 1 3rd)
Michael Schumacher 338 (5 wins 11 2nd 1 3rd)
Heikki Kovalainen 188 (6 2nd 4 3rd)
Jarno Trulli 127 (3 3rd)
Rubens Barrichello 108 (2 2nd 4 3rd)
Bruno Senna 107 (2 3rd)
Karun Chandhok 86 (2 3rd)
Nico Hulkenberg 79 (1 2nd 1 3rd)
Sakon Yamamoto 50
Lucas Di Grassi 20
Christian Klien 20
Timo Glock 0 (Best result DNF x 4)
Lewis Hamiton 0 (Best result DNF)

Mercedes 721
Lotus Cosworth 315
HRT Cosworth 263
Williams Cosworth 187
Virgin Cosworth 20
McLaren Mercedes 0

2009
Jenson Button 121 (8 wins 3 2nd 1 3rd)
Rubens Barrichello 107 (3 wins 5 2nd 3 3rd)
Nico Rosberg 72 (2 2nd 5 3rd)
Kimi Raikkonen 70 (1 win 2 2nd 4 3rd)
Lewis Hamilton 68.5 (4 wins 2 2nd)
Heikki Kovalainen 50 (2 3rd)
Felipe Massa 32.5 (1 win 1 2nd 1 3rd)
Giancarlo Fisichella 32 (20 points scored for Force India, 12 points scored for Ferrari)
Nick Heidfeld 20 (1 2nd)
Kazuki Nakajima 19.5
Adrian Sutil 13
Sebastien Buemi 5
Sebastien Bourdais 5
Robert Kubica 5
Luca Badoer 1 (BADOER LUCA SCORESA POINTA)

Brawn Mercedes 228
McLaren Mercedes 118.5
Ferrari 115.5
Williams Toyota 91.5
Force India Mercedes 33
BMW Sauber 25
STR Ferrari 10

Jenson Button won the first 7 races straight, which would be the most successful start to a season in Formula 1 history, he however did not win another race until the season ender at Abu Dhabi.
Before Massa's injury, he was outscoring Raikkonen 32.5-19. Massa won his final race of 2009 at the Nurburgring.
Only 6 drivers scored at Interlagos.
Only 7 drivers scored at Abu Dhabi.
Jenson Button sealed the championship with 2nd place at Interlagos holding a 12 point lead going into the final race at Abu Dhabi.
Due to there only being 8 cars running without shark fins towards the end of the season, Fisichella actually scored points at every race for Ferrari.

McLaren had shark fin in early 1995 season, before they removed it for Canada. I think they used it later in high-downforce circuits.

I'm amazed that anyone can remember which races which teams ran these devices on to be honest! :)

Shanghai 2008 was interesting race regarding shark fins. One Ferrari had one, one did not.

I had to look for images for 2010, but FSONE 2009 mod for rFactor has specific race updates, they should be banned.

Here's a picture, with future BF3 champion Ralph Firman driving!

One of the ugliest Formula 1 cars of all time, in a season of great looking cars, particularly the Ferrari and the Simtek.

Don't insult this championship, Badoer scored a point, I just thought what it would be like if only the cars that weren't crimes against nature were allowed to compete.

Yeah, and in my Only qualifying results I managed to unrejectify Jan Lammers, which I think no other alternative championship has managed to do so far  And I think cars with fins actually looked good when they began to join the fin with the rear wing.

Sorry to dig this thread up from the grave, but I've found another interesting shark-fin from the past:

The Ferrari 312B2.

Can this be considered a shark fin of some sort? The car is a Tyrrell 006 - Ford Cosworth from 1973.

It's not a Tyrrell, all I can see is Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansell in the 1992 McLaren and Williams.
