However, in Japan, his teammate Jules Bianchi was severely injured in an accident with a recovery vehicle, and Max only made a half-hearted attempt at Sochi before retiring early on. He is less than ten laps behind Ericsson and only 43 laps behind Narain Karthikeyan in the all-time standings.

Both Marussia and Caterham collapsed after the Russian Grand Prix, pretty much ensuring that Marcus Ericsson would secure the world championship. Sauber therefore dominated the two races since then, Gutiérrez winning in Austin and Sutil in Sao Paolo, scoring his first win of the season and climbing to third in the all-time standings in the process.

Interesting that Bonnier still holds strong in that top 10. We all know his career was insanely long, but i don't really know too much about his career otherwise.

Sorry about that, I just got involved in an increasing amount of these and sort of forgot about this one. I actually worked out the standings for it, but I just forgot to post them!
