Massive Gp2 crash

Post by tristan1117 »

I know technically this isn't in the right forum, but did anyone see Grosjean's huge crash? Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5rsV0XCHLY

By the way, maybe a new forum for other racing categories would be nice.

The one at Magny-Cours a year or two ago was better.

I don't think any crash is "better" than the other

I was referring to it in terms of specular-ity.

To rip off a quote I saw on youtube, that's the world's luckiest camera-man right there.

I'm sure this cameraman would disagree: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3A7BwNccPxQ

Formula Dream? That one was a nightmare. Its a miracle Hirokazu was "only" seriously injured.
Nissanymania! Friday has never been the same since.

The car in front is a Stefan.

I hope they penalise the driver in front for making 2 blocking moves.

And this is why GP2 cars are now built to F1 safety standards... they even passed the FIA's F1 crash tests.
That cameraman is one of the luckiest on the planet.

Andreas Zuber is a tw*t, he caused the most ridiculous crash I've ever seen in the 2007 Magny-Cours GP2 race, where he crashed with his team mate Timo Glock just after the start: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lonAHJbH3lQ

I think the other accident that Captain Hammer was talking of is Ernesto Viso's crash later in the same race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v_0pBJowuk&feature=related

It was later on the same lap.
Still it was a nasty accident. Didn't Viso sit out the rest of the season due to that crash?

He skipped sprint race at Magny-Cours plus Silverstone race next weekend before returning at Nürburgring. He had money issues so after that he was replaced.

Well, you gotta respect Grosjean, he really was trying.

As for some of the other crashes here... damn! "Young" drivers categories are full of this sort of stuff, aren't they? That Viso crash reminded me of Kubica in Canada a couple of years ago. I saw it and really thought Robert was a gonner on the spot. Remember? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBkYs97U ... re=related
Stay home, Colin Kolles!
