Sorry for the delay, been a crazy few days for me.
I assume the car price is per car right?

1. SEAT Leon x2
2. Chevrolet Lacetti x2
Driver 1
Chris Stockton, should be free since he part owns the team.
Driver 2 (Pay Driver Mobile)
1. John George
2. Nick Foster

No, it's the price for two cars (one team's supply) so financially you are in a decent state. Also, thanks for finally posting bids- the results will be up in the next few days

One last thing before I post the RNG results (this will be by the end of the day at the latest)- here are my bids for TH (mostly designed to keep Matt Neal on the grid (not that I like him, it just makes things more realistic) and not clash with any of yours):

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC - Bidding Results Up!- 5 teams availab
(That didn't take very long) So here are the RNG Results. I am honestly surprised that there are so few clashes:
(key: * indicates clash)
Chassis
Arena: Focus
BTC: Leon *
Clyde: Leon *
Dynamics: Civic '07
Eurotech: Volvo C30
GR Asia: Leon *
Motorbase: BMW E46
RML: Lacetti
Seat: Leon TDI
Tech-Speed: Alfa Romeo 156
Tempus: BMW E90
TH: Peugeot 407
888: Vectra
WSR: BMW E90
Seat Leon Part 1:
GR Asia 1-40, CVR 41-80, BTC 81-100
Result = 26, so GR Asia get the first set of Leons
Seat Leon Part 2:
CVR 1-70, BTC 71-100
Result = 4, so Clyde Valley Racing gets the second set of Leons, and BTC Racing gets the second set of Lacettis
Non-listed Driver Signing
Colciago:
1-60 Joins BTCC 61-100 Runs in WTCC
Result = 23, so he joins the BTCC
Coronel
1-60 Joins BTCC, 61-100 Stays put in WTCC
Result = 39, so Coronel builds on his one-off appearance in 2007
Asmer
1-60 Begins his tin-top career, 61-100 sits around doing nothing
Result = 16, so he takes the plunge into the BTCC (Grubmuller & Mustonen's results are now redundant)
Smith
1-70 Makes BTCC comeback, 71-100, does whatever it is he did in 2008
Result = 24 (what is going on with this RNG?), so he may be back
Bennani
1-50 His money takes him to the UK, 51-100 he enters the WTCC instead
Result= 79 - he chooses the international series
Gene
1-50 says goodbye to the Seat WTCC team, 51-100 stays put
Result = 38 - Gene goes for BTCC success, provided someone signs him

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC - Bidding Results Up!- 5 teams availab
Erm... I didn't count the number of teams properly, so I will also run Tech-Speed using cars and drivers left over. The RNG process has adjusted as such (it doesn't affect anybody else's picks however)
Tech-Speed
Car: Alfa-Romeo 156
1. Paul O'Neill
2. Alan Morrison
Remaining Budget: 65-20-10-8= 27CR
Sorry about that.

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC - Bidding Results Up!- 5 teams availab
Autosport wrote:BTCC 2009: Season Preview
After a very hectic and somewhat surprising silly season, Rockingham hosted the 2009 BTCC Media Day, the first chance for teams to do comparative testing and for the public to see this year's grid. This article goes through the results team-by-team, analysing their prospective fortunes this season.
VXR Racing
4. Giovanardi 1:21.7
14. Menu 1:22.5
Last year Vauxhall were the team to beat, (and based on Gio's form he could still challenge for the title) but this year they don't seem quite the same; the team is over-budget, Neal is gone and his successor, 1997 and 2000 champion Alain Menu seemed out of sorts, 8 tenths down on his teammate and over a second off the pace. We must wait and see whether this is just a blip as the season progresses.
Seat Sport UK
2. Plato 1:21.2
25. Jones 1:25.7
Last year's runners up had mixed fortunes in this test- Plato ran strongly, only 2 tenths off the fastest time, but new teammate Jones had a shocker- over 4 seconds down on Plato- let's hope he proves he's not dead weight in the races for his sake.
West Surrey Racing
3. Turkington 1:21.5
6. Chilton 1:21.8
One of the most consistent teams at the test, both Turkington and Dynamics refugee Chilton seemed well settled and fast out of the box.
Arena Motorsport
9. Adam 1:22.1
10. Collard 1:22.2
There were no teething troubles with the new Focus for the returning Arena squad, and both drivers could set competitive times within the a second of the ultimate pace. Expect podiums.
RML
8. Thompson 1:22.1
13. Nash 1:22.5
A slightly disappointing day for RML, who based on their WTCC form and the presence of 2004 champion Thompson were expected to be right at the front, rather than at the outer edge of the top 10. Don't write them off for the title though.
Team Dynamics
20 Neate 1:23.4
23 Colciago 1:24.7
Dynamics, however, have serious reasons to worry. Their left-field driver choices simply don't appear to have worked in their favour, and the Civics are nowhere on the timesheets. Will they bring in an experienced pilot in later to turn things around?
Motorbase
11. Tom Onslow-Cole 1:22.3
22. Mat Jackson 1:24.3
Dave Bartrum's team have a lot to think about after this test- while Onslow-Cole was competitive, 2008 runner-up Jackson simply didn't gel with the BMW E46 at all, setting a time 2 seconds slower despite running a similar car last year.
Eurotech
7. Neal 1:21.8
18. James 1:23.1
The new C30s seem quick (if not the quickest) in Neal's hands, and Chris James proved to be at least up to scratch compared to other pay drivers; Eurotech could be serious contenders for this year's indy title.
Tempus Sport
16. Smith 1:22.6
19. Asmer 1:23.1
Not much to say here, but the Tempus team seem to be frimly placed in the midfield, but could still score consistently.
TH Motorsport
1. Reid 1:21.2
28 Ho No Time
Reid and TH set a stunning pace at Rockingham, bewildering the front-runners, but Henry Ho proved that the the Peugeot 407 is also very fragile, not managing to set a time all test. The speed is there, but reliability issues may harm results.
GR Asia
21. Foster 1:23.6
25. Coronel 1:25.8
The team suffered the ignominy of being the worst Seat runners on the grid, with Foster proving average and Coronel, a WTCC front-runner, way off the pace. Improvements are needed, fast.
Tech-Speed
5. O'Neill 1:21.7
12. Morrison 1:22.4
Like fellow former backmarkers TH, Tech-Speed have shot to the front after a wholesale change of drivers and equipment- it will be interesting to see if this form endures.
BTC Racing
17. George 1:23.0
26. Stockton 1:27. 0
After a disastrous 2008, Chris Stockton's team have made a step forward into the lower midfield- it just seems that Stockton himself can't capitalise on it.
Clyde Valley Racing
15.Shedden 1:22.5
27 Kizilirmak 1:27.2
The bio-ethanol powered Leon seems to have points scoring potential in Shedden's hands, but Kizilirmak was dead last anyway. At least they aren't the worst Seat team.

Feel free to spend on driver changes or upgrades at this stage- it will be a few more days before rounds 1-3 at Brands (probably)

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC - Brands Hatch Up!
Slightly earlier than expected, here's the results of Rounds 1-3 of the TCBY 2009 Virtual BTCC!
Qualifying-1 (sorry about the lack of splits- my telemetry was broken for Quali-1 and Race 1):
Mat Jackson, even after his poor testing, put the BMW on pole just in front of Anthony Reid's 407. Stockton and Kilizirmak weren't even close to qualifying their cars.
Race 1 (video link here):
Neal had the best start and led the whole way from the first corner (hence he gained the only point for leading a lap) on the Volvo C30's BTCC debut- Reid wasn't even close. Turkington set fastest lap, so gained one extra point.
Qualifying-2:
Jackson again set pole, and again Kilizirmak and Stockton failed to qualify.
Race 2 (video link here):
This time Reid got the best start, and led until the halfway mark before spinning, dropping himself to fifth- Plato and Shedden therefore capitalised, finishing first and second. Gavin Smith finished ninth, meaning he got the most power for the "reverse grid" qualifying (though he didn't actually get pole. Onslow-Cole scored his first points of the season with fastest lap.
Race 3(video link here):
Jonathan Adam got his overtake done on the first lap, and showed dominant form in the Focus, also taking fastest lap. Gavin Smith in the Tempus BMW also hung on for an impressive third place.

Feel free to upgrade the car or sack drivers- the next round at Thruxton won't be for a while.

How does sacking a pay driver midseason work?

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC- Brands Hatch R1-3 Up!- 3 teams availa
I assume you want to fire Erkut?
Well I have decided (about half an hour ago) that if you fire a pay driver before mid-season (ie Croft) you only get half his money. Also, to prevent this rule being flaunted by everybody firing their pay drivers after Round 1, an RNG will decide whether your new driver accepts, regardless of whether they were on the original list or not. Also, if your new driver's a pay driver, you do get all his money. OK?

On another note, would it be possible that everybody who wants upgrades/driver swaps to get their information up by Sunday evening/ Monday morning (UK time) so that it can be added into the carset (I run the races on Monday afternoons). Thanks!

It appears there are no pay-drivers left at all in the list, so I guess we'll have to price some new ones;
Carl Breeze
Maxime Martin
Luca Rangoni
Michel Jourdain Jr
Carl Breeze
Maxime Martin
Luca Rangoni
Michel Jourdain Jr

I had a feeling this might happen, so I have prepared this: The 2009 Virtual BTCC Emergency Driver List!, incorporating many new pay driver I could remember (Your suggestions were good, but I don't feel Rangoni and Martin are true pay drivers- they're too good)

Martin Depper- PD, brings 20CR
Arthur Forster- PD, brings 20CR

Feel free to still suggest any other (realistic) Drivers you would rather have in your car than the person driving it now and I will price them also.

We will go for Carl Breeze. I'm also surprised that David Pinkney costs money to hire - he's one of the longest running pay drivers in the BTCC. He was only a factory Honda driver in 2009 because he stumped up the cash to buy his place at the team!

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC- Brands Hatch R1-3 Up!- 3 teams availa
Seeing as no one else will probably want to swap one of their drivers for Breeze anyway, I might as well do your RNG done now so I can get on with revising the livery
Carl Breeze -> Erkut Kilizirmak
1-70 Breeze returns to the BTCC 71-100 CVR are still stuck with Erkut
Result= 69, so Carl Breeze just about organises a deal to drive with Clyde Valley to replace the disappointing Kizilirmak.

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC- Brands Hatch R1-3 Up!- 3 teams availa
Slight change of plan- due an opening in my spare time (caused by me being stuck at home all weekend with a cold), I can run Thruxton a day early (tomorrow). Also, I assume everybody who does want to upgrade has already told me so, so I will do the upgrade RNGs now
GR Asia Race Pace:
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result=11, so GR Asia will have improved race pace for Thruxton
GR Asia Quali Pace:
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result=57, so GR Asia makes more improvements...
GR Asia Engine Power:
1-50 Succeed, 51-100 Fail
Result=78, ...but attempts to improve engine power fail (You will still be charged)
Dynamics Race Pace
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result=4 so Dynamics partially rectifies the poor pace they've had so far.
If you did want to upgrade your car at the last minute, feel free to moan at me below, preferably mentioning what you wanted to upgrade.
Finally, I have fixed the whole "Dave Pinkney pay-driver" thing Biscione brought up- I genuinely thought Dynamics had just paid him that year but made a weird choice (I couldn't follow 2009 all that well without ITV4). You are right and Pinkney's price will be adjusted as such.

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC- Thruxton R4-6 Up!- 3 teams available
As promised, here's the results of Rounds 4-6 of the TCBY 2009 Virtual BTCC!
Qualifying-1:
The BMW E90s ran very well in Qualifying with Chilton on pole for WSR and Smith second in the Tempus car. Breeze in the CVR Seat qualified 22nd for his first race of the year, and Jones and Stockton DNQ'd.
Race 1 (video link here):
Smith got into the first corner ahead and lead for most of the race, but fell victim to the charging Giovanardi, who becomes the fourth different winner. Carl Breeze scores his first points of the year with fastest lap
Qualifying-2:
Collard gains pole in the Arena Ford, with Jones and Stockton again failing to qualify.
Race 2 (video link here):
Collard had a poor start so Adam led until the halfway mark until Plato caught and passed him, setting fastest lap in the process. John George scored an amazing 7th for BTC Racing (their best ever) also gaining the most power for the reverse grid.
Race 3(video link [urlhttp://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4voqqu]here[/url]):
The WSR cars filled the front row, with Chilton overtaking Turkington on the second lap to gain a lead he wouldn't relinquish. Plato again set fastest lap, and Matt Neal had his fourth straight engine failure while in sixth, causing Eurotech to have a pointless event, with James also yet to finish without a visit to the pits.

Collard had a poor start so Adam led until the halfway mark until Plato caught and passed him, setting fastest lap in the process. John George scored an amazing 7th for BTC Racing (their best ever) also gaining the most power for the reverse grid.

Feel free to upgrade cars (it seems reliability is a little bit of a problem for some teams) or sack drivers.
Also, sorry about the weird result formatting- it's the way GP2 prints to a file, and the only thing I can do is correct it manually.

Right, there is no way adam Jones is this bad, he was a decent touring car driver in those days and was definitely better that Stockton and John George, he nearly won the independents title in 2008 for crying out loud.
Nonetheless he is sacked. Replacement announced tomorrow

I am a bit confused about it as well- I got most of the initial talent files out of the BTCC 2008/9 and WTCC 2007/9 carsets for GP2, and his, Colciago's and Menu's numbers seem very low for some reason. I could manually adjust them to match someone of similar form (Dan Eaves/Paul O'Neill) and blame it on ill health/poor setup if that would help. Sorry- this is my first time running one of these things.

Maybe you should do that then, and I will keep Jones on for another couple of meetings to see if the changed talent files improve things. It just seems to be unrealistic to have somebody who was on the pace in a 2 year old seat Toledo be 4 seconds a lap slower than Plato. Same goes for menu has to be said.
I understand it is your first time running a seires and it is your not fault if the files are duff, sorry if my rant made it seem like I was blaming you for Jones underperforming and i also apologise if I seemed to be bashing your organisation of the series.

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC- Thruxton R4-6 Up!- 3 teams available
OK I will do that for Jones, Menu, Coronel and Colciago, (maybe Thompson also, he was driving a Lada in the talent file I used) so their performances are less rejectful than they are now and more realistic.
Update: Actually, I just looked at Menu's and Coronel's numbers and they seem realistic- I have no idea why they are so slow (although the GR Asia Seat does seem to be way down on power compared with the CVR one, which should be identical- I'll fix that also)

Autosport wrote:Seat discover manufacturing flaws in Jones', Coronel's chassis
Seat Sport UK, upon investigation of the Seat Leon Cupra chassis used by Adam Jones and the two GR Asia drivers, have discovered incorrectly installed engine and suspension parts which may be at fault for the poor performances of these cars. After Jones failed to qualify the car three successive times at Thruxton, Seat recalled all six cars being used in the championship for repairs, offering "sincere apologies to the teams and drivers who's racing these faults have impeded, and inconvenience caused by the investigative work". The Clyde Valley Racing cars, (while identical) were not affected by these issues, and all Seats will be fully functional at Donington Park in a weeks time.

Here are the results of the upgrade RNGs prior to the Donington Park round:
Arena Reliability:
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result = 29, so Arena will have improved reliability
CVR Quali Pace I
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result = 38- CVR will improve quali pace somewhat...
CVR Quali Pace II
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result= 73, but further attempts fail
CVR Engine Power I
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result= 33, so CVR do make some engine improvements
CVR Engine Power II
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result= 98, so eking out extra performance again fails
CVR Engine Power III
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result=28, meaning they do make more engine improvements nevertheless
Dynamics Race Pace I
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result= 23, meaning the struggling Dynamics team make improvements to race pace...
Dynamics Race Pace II
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result= 18, which were build upon in a very successful development effort for Steve Neal's team
GR Asia Quali Pace
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result= 86, so GR Asia cannot manage to improve their qualifying performance
GR Asia Race Pace
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result= 79- testing continues to prove fruitless for the team
GR Asia Engine Power
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result=53, so testing efforts finally pay off with an engine power increase
WSR Reliability
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result:71- WSR cannot improve the reliability of their car.
WSR Race Pace:
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result= 1 - However, WSR can improve on their already impressive race pace.
If your upgrade attempts fail, you will still be charged. The races themselves will probably be up tomorrow.

Re: 2009 Virtual BTCC- Donington R7-9 Up!- 3 teams available
After last weekend's erm... technical difficulties, here's the results from the (hopefully controversy-free) Donington Park rounds of the 2009 Virtual BTCC
Quali-1:
With his upgraded engine and qualifying spec, Shedden took his first pole of the year alongside the ever-impressive Plato, with Coronel showing much improvement in the repaired GR Asia Leon. The top 20 was covered by under a second, meaning many cars, including Jones' Seat, were out of place. Colciago and Stockton failed to qualify, the former by less than a tenth of a second.
Race 1 (video here):
Shedden converted pole to victory, but not without a fight as Giovanardi and Plato challenged him the whole race, with the Italian briefly taking the lead. Coronel and Jones scored their first points of the year, and TH and Eurotech suffered their third double-retirements in a row. Turkington set fastest lap.
Quali-2
Race 1 winner Shedden again took pole, Jackson again shining with 2nd place. Stockton and Colciago again failed to make the grid.
Race 2 (video here
Shedden had a lousy start, and Jackson and O'Neill initially battled for the lead, O'Neill emerging ahead, but Turkington caught him in the latter stages of the race with a series of fastest laps, taking his first win of the year. Foster scored his first points, Seat suffered a double-DNF and Anthony Reid suffered heartbreak when his 406 packed up on the final lap, demoting him from 4th to 14th. Giovanardi finished sixth and gained the reverse grid pole (in theory; Menu got it in the end).
Race 3 (video here
Menu jumped Giovanardi and Chilton off the line and built up an unassailable lead as those two bickered, the former losing out to Turkington (who set fastest lap again) and Reid (who achieved his first finish since Brands Hatch). James Nash achieved his first points finish of the year giving RML its first double score, while Andy Neate just missed out in 11th. Matt Neal was in a strong third until his C30 broke for the 7th consecutive time, causing yet another double-DNF for Eurotech, who haven't scored since Neal's Round 1 win.

Rounds 10-12 will be next Sunday/Monday. In the meantime, feel free to make upgrades/sack drivers as per usual. Also, just as a reminder to those whose teams are in debt (I'm looking at you, Dexter249) - you need to make sure your team isn't at a negative balance by the end of the season or your team will not be entered for 2010.

Sure. Post your bids using the remaining drivers and chassis within the next 4-5 days and you can be racing for Oulton Park.
