Restov will test with the following;
Robert Wickens
Kamui Kobayashi
Esteban Guerrieri
Romain Grosjean
Alvaro Parente
Giedo van der Garde
Sebastien Buemi
Robert Wickens
Kamui Kobayashi
Esteban Guerrieri
Romain Grosjean
Alvaro Parente
Giedo van der Garde
Sebastien Buemi
TORA! TORA! TORA!
Re: 2007 Alternate GP2 - Name testing line-ups! (Restov)
One too many in that list (since di Resta will automatically test for two days), I left Buemi out since he was last in the list. I will publish soon who will test for which team on which day.
Re: 2007 Alternate GP2 - Name testing line-ups! (Restov)
The names which appear twice in one team are drivers who test only for that team and are selected with RNG among the test drivers. The driver listed above will use team's #1 car.
Here is the money already confirmed drivers bring.
Nelson Piquet Jr. 1,1
Andre Lotterer 0,3
Paul di Resta 0,3
Re: 2007 Alternate GP2 - First testing on Thursday
di Resta set the early pace in the morning session. Towards the end times improved by all bar three: Kobayashi, Jarvis and Ricciardo being exceptions.
di Grassi's car failed less than 15 minutes before the lunch break. No other drama was seen in the morning session. Piquet Jr was the fastest at that point, with Pagenaud and di Resta less than tenth a second slower.
Second session had more drama. Near the halfway, Lotterer, Teixeira and Senna all had to end their day with mechanical troubles. Even before that Hülkenberg had crashed, putting his team to repair the car overnight.
Piquet Jr wasn't able to improve his morning time whereas most others did. Lotterer, Petrov, Kerr and Hülkenberg were in the same situation as Piquet Jr, although two of them had a clear reason for it.
In the end, Pagenaud was on the top of the timesheet ahead of drivers who have more experience on the series.

Rob Lomas Racing may add two and Peak Motorsport Canada one more driver to the line-up. However, they must be drivers who are not in the line-up for any team. If there is no announcement, I will add one driver from 2006 pool to the list.
Third test will take place on Tuesday.

Pretty sure Stewart would be too fat to fit in the car, and even if he could, would probably prefer to drive in NASCAR regardless of anything else.

Re: 2007 Alternate GP2 - 3rd test day results
During the first hour, Matsuda was the only driver to get under 1'13.
But with track improving all the time, more drivers did that before the break. Matsuda spun off before lunch, losing some laps. Turvey had a small crash, while Hülkenberg and van der Garde managed to collide with each other. The German suffered more and returned only on the second hour after break.
Ricciardo and de Oliveira had early mechanical troubles and they missed time too.
During the second half, Premat crashed, as did Parente. Three drivers suffered from mechanical gremlins, namely Sutil, Valerio and Albuquerque.
Short track enabled small gaps. In the end, Matsuda was the fastest, but other two other drivers was within a tenth from the top.

Re: 2007 Alternate GP2 - 3rd test day results
With no announcement, former VRT driver Ernesto Viso joined Rob Lomas Racing line-up for final day.
One driver was on the top of the timesheets for all day long. Zuber took the glory from the final test day and ended up almost half a second faster than anyone else. He just couldn't be stopped.
Otherwise it was very close indeed, including three pairs of drivers who clocked same time.
Morning session crashes: Unser III
Morning session mechanicals: Conway, Rossi, di Grassi, Niemelä
Afternoon session crashes: Conway, Viso
Afternoon session mechanicals: Carroll, Nakajima

Driver signing period rules
* In the initial period, only drivers who tested for the team in Paul Ricard may be nominated
* The team is allowed to nominate two preferred drivers and up to two reserves (in case of nominating driver who tested for another team(s))
* If multiple teams nominate same driver, the driver's selection is done by a weighted randomizer, taking account the positions from four testing days. Preferred driver always takes advantage over reserve driver
* Deadline for nominations is 48 hours from this message
* If there are vacant spots at that time, team may nominate any driver who meets the driver requirements and is free
Drivers who want to be paid (in this case you have to state how much you will offer and driver accepts or refuses the offer)

Actually checked that Ebrahim will turn 18 only after season starts. Ricardo Teixeira will drive in Sakhir and Catalunya before handing car to Ebrahim.

TORA! TORA! TORA!
Re: 2007 Alternate GP2 - Driver signing (Restov)
First of all, these drivers signed with following teams, having no interest from the other teams.
Heikki Kovalainen, Hunter Autosport (brings 0,2 million)
Oliver Turvey, Ember Racing (0,8)
Nelson Philippe, Euromotor International (0,2)
Alx Danielsson, Veneta Racing (0,4)
Andreas Zuber, Veneta Racing (0,9)
Romain Grosjean, Restov Racing (1)
Tsugio Matsuda, Atari Motorsport (0,8)
Hiroki Yoshimoto, Atari Motorsport (0,9)
Armaan Ebrahim, Junior Reject Motorsport (1,1 for part season, Ricardo Teixeira will bring 0,2 for two races)
Alberto Valerio, Junior Reject Motorsport (1,2)
Sebastien Buemi, Life Motorsport (1)
RNG drivers
Timo Glock, interest from Hunter Autosport (13th) and Ice Racing (2nd)
1-25 for Hunter, 26-100 for Ice.
16! Glock goes to reigning champions with 0,8 backing.
Simon Pagenaud, interest from Ember Racing (8th), Starforce Engineering (1st) and Peak Motorsport Canada (3rd)
1-19 for Ember, 20-53 for PMC, 54-100 for Starforce.
53! Pagenaud chooses Peak Motorsport Canada as his team giving 0,5 backing.
Nico Hülkenberg, interest from Starforce Engineering (5th), Rob Lomas Racing (19th) and Ice Racing (9th).
1-14 for Rob Lomas, 15-48 for Ice, 49-100 for Starforce.
23! Hülkenberg will drive for Ice Racing with 1M backing.
At this point, following drivers can also join teams:
Robbie Kerr, Starforce Engineering (0,4)
Lucas di Grassi, Peak Motorsport Canada (1)
Vitaly Petrov, Life Motorsport (1)
Bruno Senna, Rob Lomas Racing (1,3)
Giedo van der Garde, Rob Lomas Racing (1,5)
Markus Niemelä, Ice Racing (0,9)
Three places still up for grabs.
Oliver Jarvis has interest from Ember Racing (4th+18th) and Scuderia Alitalia Coloni (10th). With him being first option for latter and reserve option for the former. SAC chances get doubled.
Final numbers are 1-45 for SAC, 46-100 for Ember.
71! Jarvis continues with the team he drove for in 2006. He has 0,7M.
Filipe Albuquerque is now on the list for Scuderia Alitalia Coloni (9th) and Starforce Engineering (15th), as a reserve option for both.
1-39 for Starforce, 40-100 for SAC.
49! Albuquerque joins Scuderia Alitalia Coloni and brings 0,9M.
Starforce Engineering was left without second driver. They are allowed to take any driver who fulfills the requirements and is not already promoted. (see list here) In case of driver tested for any team, it will be accepted. If (s)he didn't test and didn't participate 2006 season, I will tell the money category the driver belongs and then you will accept it or ask for other driver.

Re: 2007 Alternate GP2 - Driver signing (Restov)
And here is the entry list.
From the left, team, chassis, number, driver, driver's money, (blank because I have driver values there), current money of the team and then number of updates it has in each category. If bolded (none is) it means that update for that category has been used during the season.

Euromotor will purchase a new chassis for Nelson Philippe
PS: It that means my team won't be able to purchase updates?
