Actually, he triggered the pileup which made Dark77 to stop the race. So you were lucky that the results were taken from the lap before it.
Dark77 wrote:Well, I don't like removing teams, but the rule was quite clear, post in the thread every few rounds to stay in the series. All you have to do is look in the thread every time some new results are up and if I say to post something, then post something. So I'll put This and FMecha on the waiting list.

The Indy Star wrote:Alliot out the door at Alstom IBR
Joey Alliot has been sacked by his Alstom IBR team only hours after the end of the last round at Croft, after deliberately blocking team-mate and championsip contender Frederic-Maxime Voeckler, losing his compatriot the lead at the time, but which Voeckler eventually recovered by himself later on.
"Mr Alliot's on-track conduct at the Croft race meeting was completely unacceptable, and we feel we have no option but to terminate his contract at Alstom IBR with immediate effect," read a statement released by the Italian team. "We have a policy that our drivers can race each other out on track without team orders, but this policy only applies when both cars are on the same lap. Mr Alliot should have moved aside when Frederic-Maxime first caught him, but refused to do so for at least a dozen laps, costing us the lead of the race and possibly several points in the championship. This incident demonstrates a complete lack of team ethic, which we do not tolerate in our ranks."
It is unclear who IBR will bring in to take his place, but it is believed they have approached out-of-contract Dennis Mignolet, who raced for Force Indianapolis earlier this season before the team closed its doors mid-season.
Series Management is a ***** Joke!!
After the CART series race in Croft, MRS board of directors slammed heavily about the recent decisions of the league.
"Where's justice in all this? In Michigan, Casval was running well into a top 10, and he was taken out! Not a mechanical DNF, but taken out, and there wasn't any action against the driver who put him onto the wall! Yesterday on Croft, Tsubasa climbed into the top 10, was running a fine 13, and then he was also taken out, and there hasn't been sight of any penalty for that! Then, there's Artesia's suspension for what the series management calls 'risky driving'. So that means that unless your team has connections with the management or a bank account in the Bahamas, your're destined to end with the other end of the straw! As Paul Stoddart once said, and you can censor it, if you want, this is ***** crazy! This thing is *******!
Series Management is a ***** Joke!!
Brendon Cassidy Sr wrote:Bullshite. You complain about drivers not given penalties, but then when one of yours is given a penalty for diving straight through a pack of cars and potentially causing a major accident, despite having been already banned once already, that's unjust!? Double standards, anyone!? ... we all know there's too many incidents for the officials to investigate every one of them fully. So if you're not lobbying and making a case for a penalty, don't act surprised when none is given!
You jackasses either need to grow up and take Mass' penalty like respectable human beings, or quit your whining about other drivers not given penalties, especially if you don't make a case for them!
Ben Gleck (Chief Steward) wrote:We already looked Rojas' incident in Michigan and Portilla's in Croft and determined that they were racing incidents, sorry.
Michael Bright Racing statement to Series Management wrote:
We would like to protest the disqualification of Frederic-Maxime Voeckler (Car 1), driver for Alstom Grand Prix Engineering, from the recent CART Round of Croft, and the banning of said driver for at least 3 events. We base our protest following an incident on lap 79 of 85 that occurred at turn 6 on the circuit, in which we believe that Car 1 (Voeckler) swerved in front of Patrick Carpentier (Car 3), driver for Johnnie Walker Michael Bright Racing , forcing car 3 (Carpentier) out of the lead of the race and out of the race itself. This, we believe, is act of deliberate dangerous driving intend to remove a competitor from the race.
This image clearly shows that Car 3 (Carpentier) is ahead of Car 1 (Voeckler) and Car 39 (Jose Pablo Mazzacane, driver for Mazzacane Motorsport) exiting the previous turn on the circuit (turns 4 and 5)
This image shows that under braking for turn 6, Car 3 (Carpentier) is still in the lead of the race, and clearly ahead of either Car 1 (Voeckler) or Car 39 (Mazzacane).
Approaching the apex of turn 6, Car 1 (Voeckler) lunges down the inside to pull half a car length ahead of Car 3 (Carpentier). The position of the steering wheel on Car 3 (Carpentier) indicates that he has already started to turn into the corner.
Car 1 (Voeckler) completes the move and moves into the lead of the race. From this position, car 3 is approaching the apex of turn 6, and should procede out of the turn in a smooth arc. The positioning of Car 1 (Voeckler) indicates he will procede out of the turn towards the LEFT hand side (relative to this image) of the track.
This image CLEARLY shows Car 1 (Voeckler) moving towards the LEFT hand side of the track. Car 3 (Caarpentier) is on the RIGHT hand side of the track. The arrow indicates the position of Car 3 (Carpentier) relative to the RIGHT hand side track BOUNDARY.
Car 1 (Voeckler) CLEARLY MOVES TOWARDS THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE TRACK. The arrow indicates that Car 3 (Carpentier) has NOT moved ANY FARTHER LEFT. Car 1 (Voeckler) can be seen to MOVE ACROSS the path of Car 3 (Carpentier). Also note the angle of Car 3 (Carpentier)'s steering wheel : TURNING RIGHT.
This image was taken as the two cars collided. Car 1 (Voeckler) has CONTINUED to move FROM THE LEFT HAND SIDE TO THE RIGHT HAND SIDE of the track. The steering wheel of Car 3 (Carpetier) is TURNING RIGHT, and is exactly in the same position as the previous image. This indicates that Car 3 (Carpentier) was taking HIS NORMAL LINE out of turn 6, as observed many times previous during the race, and DID NOT at any time TURN TOWARDS THE LEFT-HAND SIDE of the track.
We hope that the CART officials look closely and the evidence and arrive at the right outcome. It is our belief that Car 3 (Carpentier) was unfairly taken out of the race and we would like to see sanctions imposed on the driver of Car 1 (Frederic-Maxime Voeckler). We also ask that Alstom Grand Prix Engineering accept these sanctions gracefully and magnaminously if the officials decide to impose sanctions on the driver of Car 1 (Frederic-Maxime Voeckler).
Signed, Michael Bright

Alstom IBR wrote:Alstom IBR hopes the stewards see common sense, by looking at the pictures. Voeckler is turning left the entire time! If Carpentier had half a brain, he'd have attempted to go down the inside of Voeckler, but instead, decided to stay on the racing line even though there was a car already there. That is just outright stupidity from the car behind. Carpentier made zero effort to avoid Voeckler. If Carpentier had been forced to excessively deviate from the racing line and still been hit, then MBR might have had a case. But this is a joke. It's as simple as Carpentier not paying attention to the car in front and running into him as a result.
A racing driver who wasn't a blithering idiot would have seen Voeckler's oversteering car and either attempted to go around it, or slowed down to avoid him. It was on the apex of a corner, simply lifing off the throttle would have slowed Carpentier's car down in time to avoid the incident. Alas, Carpentier instead decided to accelerate straight into the back of him.
Also, as you can clearly see from the onboard, Carpentier's steering lock is at 5 degrees. FIVE. When there is a car in front of him going slower than he is! Simply TURNING THE WHEEL MORE would have avoided the indicent. But he decided to ignore the existence of Voeckler. Why should Voeckler be penalised because Carpentier was too bone-headed to at least attempt an overtake instead of ramming straight into him?!
This protest is utter nonsense and should be thrown out immediately. We also suggest MBR is penalised for wasting officials' time with such a frivilous complaint, protests should only be allowed where there is actually a case to answer for.
