I am looking to get into some series with my drivers Julian Clark and Randall Wade and/or my team High Performance Racing.

I might be looking for new drivers if Marisa Carrera keeps sputtering around as a backmarker.

Ok. If you decide to replace her, give me a message. Wade is driving in the GT-R now so you can have Clark if you want.

Indeed, I will need one more race with Carrera to make judgment. Clark is likely to be better, but I wonder if the car is what is terrible.

Marisa is a pay driver of Max Chilton type talent who has just a few more races of experience. Clark will be likely be slightly better, but not too much.

2016 RTCC Round of Austria

Qualifying

Image

Jason Wintermeter claimed a surprise pole ahead of RTCC rookie Kyomi Setou in the BITW BMW and the ever-impressive Sylvain Fabron. A better run in qualifying from Paul Jenkins today, whereas Jack Maddock struggled in comparison. At the back of the grid, Rck Tyryn and Khaled Al-Dizi again set the slowest two times, and didn't take the start.

Race

Image

Jason Wintermeter was jumped by Setou and Fabron off the line, and whilst the BITW and Davies cars battled out in front, Wintermeter held the pack up like some form of born-again Wouter Lamberigts. Jenkins eventually got past and managed to close up to the leaders, but heavy traffic forced the DRT front man to settle for second. Meanwhile, both Mazzacane cars couldn't keep the car on the road, and Martin McGovern ruined a chance at overall victory by spinning carelessly into the pit wall.

If I'd noticed before the race was completed I would have restarted it, but I'm not re running the race again as I don't want to fall too far behind the schedule.

Autosport wrote:RTCC Constructors to disappear again?
Whilst discussing plans for the 2017 season of the Rejects Touring Car Championship, series organiser Klaus Mann hinted that the Constructors class could be removed again, after just one season after being brought back.

"This is not a move based on the current Constructors standings, no, we have some plans for next year and the Constructors category may have to go to accommodate them"

The Constructors category has been poorly represented this year, with just 9 entries. Paul Jenkins currently leads the Cup with an 8 point advantage over team mate Sylvain Fabron, with Davies Racing Team over 50 points clear at the top of the Trophy standings

In short, I'm thinking of dropping the Constructor class, and introducing a Class B for older-spec cars, as it's obvious they cannot really compete with the newer cars. This would leave Manufacturer and Independent classes. Class B would have their own drivers and teams championship, but would still be eligible for main series points.

What do you think?

The Rejects Touring Car Championship is to switch to Super 2000 regulations for the 2017 season, after two seasons running to the outdated Super-Touring format. RTCC officials expressed their verdict on the new-look rules package.

Despite what I said before about a Class B, I've decided to take the plunge and update RTCC a bit by switching to S2000. The cars that will be available are:

Alfa Romeo 156
Audi A4
BMW E90
Chevrolet Lacetti
Chevrolet Cruze
Honda Accord
Lada Priora
Lexus IS
Mazda 6
Mercedes C200
Mitsubishi Lancer
Peugeot 407
Seat Leon
Seat Toledo

Skoda Octavia
Toyota Avensis
Vauxhall/Opel Vectra
Volvo S60

The cars above in bold are confirmed. All other cars are possibilities.

ZimSport would be very interested in the Cruze, mostly because the Insignia and that specific Vectra weren't sold as Holdens. Won't stop me rebadging them if I need to though

Also, have a livery for Melville.

And I will run the Skoda Factory team... Onyx is more a scouting operation capable of finding good talent and convincing talent to improve. Pay drivers will not be used for 2017 which means Marisa Carrera's in IndyCar as a 4th car.

www.carracingmagazine.com wrote:Sørensen Motorsport is back

Rumours from Denmark tell that the Danish race team Sørensen Motorsport is about to return to international touring car racing. Their last season in an international series was in 2003 when they ran two Renault Meganes in DTM.

After 2003 the team lead by the founder Henning Sørensen raced touring cars in the Danish national series with relatively good results. However, in the last few years, Henning's health became a concern to his family and friends and it seemed that 2012 would be the last season for Sørensen Motorsport. Rescue came mid-2012 in the form of Henning's nephew, Jens, who took over the control and he had a plan: Get Sørensen Motorsport back to a top-level racing series in five years.

"Ofcourse it's a big challenge to move from a national series to highly competitive international series, but I have a ton of faith in our team members." The team have ran a total of 5 cars in the Danish championship for the last two years, their main cars being the two factory-SAAB 9-3's.

"We have talked with SAAB about entering RTCC for 2017 and they seem just as eager as we do." The team hasn't yet revealled anything about the possible drivers, but strong rumours from Sweden tell that SAAB might unleash one of their factory drivers.

So in short: Sørensen Motorsport would like to join the series in 2017 with SAAB 9-3s

Also Pasta, what is that mod you're going to use, and would it be possible to share it?

Your interest in application has been noted, you are currently on the waiting list to enter for next season. :) Signups for next season aren't officially open yet, that was just a teaser to let you know what's available, but there is nothing wrong with people declaring interest now.

As for the mod, well, it's an amalgamation of cars from various different sources. The Alfa, Honda, BMW, Seats, Peugeot and Lacetti are all from the RaceX conversion, whilst the other cars are from hard to source locations (notably Russian online racing leagues.) Seen as there's some obscure cars here, I'll package the files up and upload them for anyone who's interested when the carset is finished :)

High Performance Racing to enter 2017 RTCC.

New Zealand-based High Performance Racing, who currently competes in the Lupo GTI, RRC, RRT, and F1RSTC championships have announced today that they will enter a two-car team in the 2017 Rejects Touring Car Championship. The team will be the official Mazda works team, following up their partnership in the F1RSTC. As such, the team will be running two Mazda 6s. Drivers will be announced closer to the start of the new season. Some backing will come from team owners Dominic Spearman and Ray Douglas through their companies Spearman Industries and the Douglas Media Group. Additional sponsorship is currently being sought.

Knockhill Race 2 has been completed, results from both races and updated championship standings will be up at the weekend. However, there is a new rule I'd like to bring in now, ahead of a raft of rule changes for next season.

Double dutying will now be mostly banned for drivers competing in RTCC. Double dutying is a driver competing in two series simultaneously, that is, RTCC and another series. Drivers can only compete in the F1 Rejects Super Touring Cup, OR the Lupo GTI Championship FULL TIME AND compete in RTCC. Drivers are allowed PART TIME GTR schedules. Any driver that competes in any other series will not be allowed to race until it is made clear whether or not they will commit to RTCC. Also, it is YOUR responsibility to check for any clashing dates - if there is a clash, your driver will simply NOT be entered for the RTCC race on the date of that clash. HOWEVER, if a driver leaes another series midway through a season, they can still race in RTCC

Currently, the only drivers that violate this rule are: Julian Clark (RRC), Michael Rohnstock (RRC), Travis Crabtree (RRC). . If their owners do not state wether or not they will be competing in RTCC OR RRC then they will be removed. :)
