Diane Ettick's car was torn apart in the incident.

However, the remarks of one deeply devout Order of Racing employee, who asked to remain anonymous, will spark some reaction in the paddock. He alleged that Diane Ettick could not possibly have been in the Blockton Impact car at Keimola, and that he had concrete proof. When pressed by the author on the nature of this proof, he explained that God had spoken to him, telling him that Diane Ettick had appeared before him for Judgement. On that basis, the employee concluded that Ettick could not also be in a Dywa 002 racing car in southern Finland.

Quite how the paddock will react to this bombshell, if at all, remains to be seen. He also lavished praise on his team's driver Kruger Dunning. "Kruger has made such a confident debut. He should take this as a sign that God is willing him to succeed at this level."

Another Dywa GP race leaves us with a situation where only one of the top five is on the grid for the next race.

QUALIFYING REPORT
Hoji Imin took his first career pole position, lining up alongside Amalure Arrigorriagakoa. Automotive SuperSport made the grid again, as Ben Dover successfully qualified. His teammate, Moe Lester, and Alphonse Fabron, failed to qualify.

RACE REPORT
The race was initially dominated by Giacomo Campatelli, who made an excellent start, only for him to throw away a minute after a careless spin, handing Shota Kakhaberidze the lead. The young Soviet driver was never challenged thereafter, and he brought the car home for his, and Blockton Impact's, first victory. Adan Gabaldon was a distant second, a lap down on Kakhaberidze. Rounding out the podium was Barry McKockiner, who went one further than his maiden points-scoring effort the previous race with a first career podium (and indeed seeing the chequered flag for the first time in his career). Further back, there were serious crashes involving Johannes Gruber, Nina Noyer, Paul Pott and Sentenza, whose consequences will be outlined later.
FINAL CLASSIFICATION

FASTEST LAPS

Drive of the Day: Shota Kakhaberidze - absolutely dominant victory, lapped the entire field and set the fastest lap.
Reject of the Race: Paul Pott - causing a career-ending injury to a championship contender and copping a three-race ban for it is not exactly covering one's self in glory, is it?

INJURY REPORT
There was a plethora of serious accidents during the race.

Firstly, Johannes Gruber.
Image
This isn't ideal, but also could be worse
1-25 no injury
26-50 very minor injury, misses one race
51-90 out for season (season is nearly over)
91-100 more severe, second RNG needed
36! Gruber is out for just one race. His replacement by Yuri Komarov has been noted.

Next, Nina Noyer.
Image
She crashed and her car disintegrated upon impact with the catch fencing.
1-25 no injury
26-50 very minor injury, misses one race
51-90 out for season (season is nearly over)
91-100 more severe, second RNG needed
94! This does not bode well.

Second RNG permutations:
1-33 Out for season and first half of next season
34-66 Career-ending injury
67-99 Death
100 She was actually fine all along
69! Requiescat in Pace.
Noyer had already been slated to be replaced by Sofia De Haro for the next race. This is certainly one way of facilitating said replacement.

Next, the important one: the collision between Paul Pott and Sentenza.
https://streamable.com/7kkxfr
https://streamable.com/0g1d5j
Both drivers receive the same RNG odds.
1-25 No Injury
26-75 out for season (it's near the end of the season so a 'season-ending injury' is now a broad enough category)
76-100 more severe, second RNG

Paul Pott first.
16! He emerges from the crash unscathed.

Sentenza next:
90! Sentenza is not so fortunate.

Second RNG permutations:
1-33 Out for season and first half of next season
34-66 Career-ending injury
67-99 Death
100 He was actually fine all along
54! He will never race again.
Sentenza's replacement by Lamberto Alfaghetti has already been noted.
Paul Pott has been given a three-race ban for his reckless driving which resulted in severe injuries for his fellow championship contender, Sentenza.
There will be an RNG to determine if series officials will take interest in this matter.
1-50 The Dywa GP officials don't care
51-100 Wait! Maybe there is something to this.
6! They very clearly could not care less about the matter.

Order of Racing has been represented by five drivers: the mysterious "Duncan Idaho", Barry McKockiner (pictured), Nunzio Dunn, Javier Scarpetta and Kruger Dunning.

The Maltese Order of Racing team has today announced its immediate withdrawal from the Dywa Grand Prix Series following The Castle Cup at Castle Coombe. The team has competed at 13 Dywa Grand Prix events, using five different drivers. The team currently also lies 13th in the Teams Championship, a position that they will be likely to retain to the end of the season.

When pressed as to why they were leaving, team officials were entirely forthcoming. "We know from God Himself that Diane Ettick cannot possibly be in that Blockton car. It is His word, as he has told it to me, that Ettick has appeared before him for Judgement. When we told the Dywa officials - who we believed were good Catholic men - they laughed in our faces. Told us that it wasn't their concern until we came back with evidence. As if the word of God was not enough!"

At that point, they said, they were resolved to sell the team - but they needed to sit down with their chosen buyer and discuss the deal. "Kruger's confidence is sky-high after such an impressive pair of debut races," said the official, referencing Dunning's back-to-back top ten finishes. "He believes that he is the perfect person to take on the running of a team in this series, and it just so happened that we had one for sale."

Dunning has taken ownership of the team's assets, including their entry to the series, for the nominal price of one Maltese lira and ten Hail Marys. He subsequently filed paperwork to confirm that his American-registered team would be known as Dilbert Racing, and that its drivers would be himself and teammate Nunzio Dunn until the end of the season.
Have edited the entry list accordingly

Re: 1979 Dywa GP — Castle Combe Results Up!

With another race in the books, the Dywa GP championship has become considerably closer, and an outside contender has turned into an outright contender with a first career win.

QUALIFYING REPORT
Knowing that every point was essential to get into championship contention, Amalure Arrigorriagakoa put her car on pole position. Debutant Lamberto Alfighetti failed to qualify, in a rather disappointing first outing for the Italian.

RACE REPORT
The race was dominated by Amalure Arrigorriagakoa, who, despite an early-race mechanical problem, never faced any serious challenge. Late in the race, Sofia De Haro did close the gap a bit, setting the fastest lap in the process, but this pace was too much for the engine to bear and it caught fire on the final lap. Despite this, she was classified fourth. Barry McKockiner finished in the points for the third consecutive race, denying Vaillante driver Bern van der Westhouzen points. There were ten classified finishers in total, a series record.
FINAL CLASSIFICATION

FASTEST LAPS

Drive of the Day: Reliability - Ten cars finishing a race is truly unprecedented.
Reject of the Race: Marshalling - Very sloppy marshalling resulted in a multitude of cars coming apart after they had retired from the race.

INJURY REPORT
Yuri Komarov sustained a rather heavy crash in the race.
Image
1-75 Out for season
76-100 More serious, second RNG needed
51! This could have been worse. Johannes Gruber will be returning for the next race so it has no impact on DYWA HARD's plans.

Re: 1979 Dywa GP — Charade Results Up!

Post by Frogfoot9013 »

Charade brought a chaotic, dramatic, race, and a new championship leader.

QUALIFYING REPORT
Ensar Alic took a career first pole, pipping Amalure Arrigorrigakoa for the position. A notable absence from the session was the newly-formed Dilbert Racing - the turbulence of the change in management meant the team was unable to show up to the event, though driver Nunzio Dunn, who made his own way to the track, did arrive, only to have no team to drive for.
Image
Image

RACE REPORT
Amada Castellon took a second career win, an excellent comeback after the injury at Grobnik. The only other finishers were the two Euskadi Lasterketa cars, who came second and third, despite Arrigorriagakoa nearly crashing trying to get by Etxeberria with a few laps to go. Their double podium had massive championship implications - not only has Arrigorriagakoa taken the Drivers' Championship lead, but Euskadi Lasterketa has jumped to the Teams' Championship lead too, a single point ahead of Vaillante. All this promises an incredibly close finale.

FINAL CLASSIFICATION
Image
Image
*note: Amalure Arrigorriagakoa is considered P3 there, but she actually pitted on the final lap and GP2 bathpluggery demoted her a position, I have done a force-majeure to move her to P2 in the results, which is reflected in the wiki standings

Drive of the Day: Amada Castellon - an excellent victory on comeback from injuries sustained at Grobnik
Reject of the Race: Johannes Gruber's Dywa-002 - spontaneously disintegrated under the strain of rounding a corner at 26mph.

INJURY REPORT
There were a number of severe crashes at Charade.
For all except the final RNG, the same combination of odds will be used.

1-20 - Escapes with only bumps and bruises
21-40 - Walking wounded; can race with enough painkillers
41-60 - Season-ending injury (is fit by the start of next year)
61-80 - Season-ending injury (is not fit by the start of next year; second RNG length of time out)
81-100 - Very serious injuries (second RNG)

Nino Pilia
https://streamable.com/q01dbn
4! RNGesus smiles upon Pilia.

Giacomo Campatelli
https://streamable.com/k2zqzi
2! Be grand.

Shota Kakhaberidze
https://streamable.com/gokdn5
27! Be graaaaaaand.

Ensar Alic
https://streamable.com/k10vc5
48! The polesitter's season is over. The elusive Canadian-Czechoslovakian, 'Dom Wings', will be replacing him.

Jehan-Jacques Graves
https://streamable.com/tg791z
100! Oh dear.

The Second RNG permutations are as follows:
1-33 Out for the season and the first half of the next season
34-66 Career-ender
67-99 Death
100 ? ? ? ?
42! He will never race again. He was already slated to be replaced by 'Michel Vaillant' for Monza.

Stefano Spaghetti
https://streamable.com/f5mr4n
18! RNGesus has once again smiled upon a driver.

Alphonse Fabron
https://streamable.com/g8zgep
50! Fabron's season is over.

Karl Gustav Schneider
https://streamable.com/1k1tnw
Owing to the increased severity of this crash compared to the others, a different RNG will be used here.

1-50 - season-ending injury
51-100 - very seriously injured (second RNG)
59! This is not ideal for Schneider.

The same Second RNG permutations as for Graves shall now be used.
2! That could have been worse. Schneider's replacement by Dominik Nowak has been noted.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
It has been confirmed by LATE that Jacques Clouseau will in fact be fit to partake in the Coppa Monguzzi at Monza, despite his injurie sustained at Bikernieki!
Additionally, it has also been confirmed that 'Sentenza' will be making a shock return for the race, despite being told his career was all but done for after his injuries at Keimola.
It is literally do-or-die as far as the championship goes, and an intense three-way shootout is now on the cards.

Re: 1979 Dywa GP — Monza Results Up, season over!

This was actually run in January, but I have only now uploaded the results here. Final results have been on the wiki for a while though.

QUALIFYING REPORT

RACE REPORT
FINAL CLASSIFICATION

Vaillante Equipe Dywa is the Teams' Champion, and Amalure Arrigorriagakoa the Drivers' Champion!

FASTEST LAPS
Image
Image

Drive of the Day: Jacques Clouseau - a valiant, if ultimately unssuccessful effort, to win the championship while loaded up with all of the painkillers.
Reject of the Race: Teams using drivers to impersonate other drivers - 'Sentenza' and 'Diane Ettick were exposed.

POST-RACE EVENTS
A situation concerns the elusive Sentenza, who finished third in the race on his comeback from a severe injury.
1-50 ????
51-100 ?!?!
77!
?!?!
'Sentenza' takes off his helmet after getting out of the car in view of everyone.
It turns out that it is not Sentenza, but past MAGA driver Marco Tortellini!
The Dywa GP officials immediately disqualify Sentenza from the race.

INJURY REPORT
Diane Ettick sustained a crash which was rather heavy, but she survived largely unscathed.
However, she was brought to the hospital as a precaution.
1-50 ????
51-100 ?!?!
65!
?!?!
The doctors notice something doesn't quite add up.
It seems that the woman going by 'Diane Ettick' is not the same person who was doing so when she was first hired by Blockton Impact.
As 'Diane Ettick' was an alias to begin with, the doctors at the hospital deliberate as to whether to take this to authority.
1-75 Yes, there's something fishy going on here
76-100 This might be kicking the hornet's nest
60!
A police inquiry is opened.
After some 'questioning' of Blockton Impact personnel, they come to the realisation that the actual Diane Ettick was killed in a crash at the Dywa GP race at Bikernieki, in the Soviet Union, and that bribery had been used to hush over the whole affair.
As this is a case of Dywa GP officials covering up the death of an American citizen in the Soviet Union from both American and Soviet authorities through bribery, somewhat of a situation has arisen.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
The season has now concluded and 1980 will be beginning in a number of weeks' time. :deletraz:
