Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - 2015 Abby Dabby

Post by Shizuka »

based on the assumption that, at any moment in time, there is a non-zero probability that even the slowest, most inexperienced and least reliable of underdogs might win the race. That under every rock, there might be a gold nugget. This is the award for that first podium that we all celebrate, for the overtake no-one was expecting, for Ericsson's first win. This is the award, in short, for the driver or team that makes you go "Woah! Where did THAT come from?!".

Just remember: this is a feel-good award, that will focus on nothing but track action.
Usual rules: everyone gets two votes. First vote is worth 10 points, the second 6.

Post your results until December 5

1) Perez
2) Raikkonen

1. Sergio Pérez: Another amazing drive. Before qualifying, I expected him to get a few points at best.
2. Kimi Räikkönen: Finally a perfect race weekend for him (apart from one pit stop).

I'd agree that those two drivers kind of get the award by default.

Although Perez did lose out to Vettel, he managed to hold onto a higher position than I guess most had expected and he was able to resist pressure from Ricciardo in the closing laps. As for Raikkonen, whilst it was a relatively anonymous race, he did manage to finish within a respectable margin of the two Mercedes drivers and would have been closer without those problems in his last pit stop - this was one of the few occasions this season where he looked more like the Kimi of old.

1) Sergio Perez: I seem to be giving lots of these "best from the rest" type of awards and this is no exception, great race from Perez to seal a good year.

2) Roman Grosjean: Made the differend strategy work and managed to leave behind punch of guys who looked stronger than him in qualifying.

1. Sergio Perez - bloody brilliant weekend! When are we going to see him in an actually DECENT car?
2. Force India in general. A wild Pace appears!

Sergio Perez - He probably ended Nico Hulkenberg's "he's the real deal" aura. Great race even if he's barely had any coverage.

Romain Grosjean - Great race from last to the points in a midfield car.

A little late to the party, but.......

1. Grojean: In his last race for Lotus, he gets the car home to 10th.

2. Perez: Another brilliant performance from him.

Honorable Mentions:

Raikkonen: Great drive, but why wasn't he like that earlier this year?

Force India: A double points finish.
