It's that time of year again! The season's over, the year's almost out, why not have some Forum Awards?

Despite Salamander's wonderful cavalcade of categories last year, he wanted someone else to start the process and thin down the number of categories a bit. Since I thought it was a little geared towards the PMMF (and I want to be all-inclusive here), I thought I'd condense it a little for this year.

Team of the Year: Mercedes (as much as I wanted to give this to Williams or Marussia, there was really no contest here.)
Reject of the Year: Sauber (A shite car + two stooges in the seats = disaster)
Race of the Year: Monaco (Come on, Marussia scored points. MARUSSIA SCORED POINTS.)
Finish of the Year: Canada (Rosberg and Perez fighting for the lead whilst both in crippled cars, Massa closing up before bathplugging up big time, and Ricky taking advantage to win. Top stuff)
Deadbeat Teammate of the Year: Kimi Raikkonen (get out of F1 already)
Most Improved Driver of the Year: Valtteri Bottas (granted, there was very little he could do in the shitbox that was last year's Williams, but this year he's come alive. Definitely a champion of the future)
Rookie of the Year: Daniil Kvyat (solid all season, and bagged himself a top seat for next season).
Most Anonymous Driver of the Year: Adrian Sutil (why is this chap still in F1?)
Crasher of the Year: Felipe Massa (too many first lap incidents, and Canada as well)

Driver of the Year: Colin Turkington (BTCC) (drove like a demon all season to his second BTCC title. And he's a thoroughly decent chap to boot as well)

The General Motorsports Awards (aka The Non-F1 Awards)
Driver of the Year: Stoffel Vandoorne (GP2) - The second half of the year has really been a masterclass.
Team of the Year: Prema Powerteam (F3) - Ocon and Fuoco both in the top five, and Latifi up there too. Good work.
Reject of the Year: Robert Visoiu (GP3) - This was supposed to be the year he got it together. Instead, he showed stagnation and apathy as Niederhauser and Mardenborough outscored him.
Race of the Year: I thought the last BTCC round at Brands Hatch was awesome. Three pretty cool races.
Worst Race of the Year: The GP3 races at Barcelona. Nothing happened.
Finish of the Year: The end of the Beijing ePrix. I disliked the result, obviously, but it was certainly one that stands out.
Deadbeat Teammate of the Year: Martin Depper (BTCC) - Pretty much what Londoner said.
Most Improved Driver of the Year: Johnny Cecotto Jr.
Rookie of the Year: Since I've given Vandoorne an award already, I think it's fair to give Esteban Ocon this one.
Motorsport Series of the Year: BTCC. First year back watching it since 2007 and it was awesome. The only reason I'm not giving it to Formula E is because we're only two races in!

Caption of the Year: Oh boy, let's go trawl through Coops' posts. This one is sufficient.
Avatar of the Year: Collieafc's Magnum Opus "Slightly Disgusted Hill" always makes me chuckle. Honourable mention to the Bianchi avatars, they were a nice touch.

Virtual Series of the Year: AutoReject Super Touring's had a breakout beginning. Video coverage, thrills, spills, and plenty of repair bills.
Virtual Race of the Year: The F1RWRS Austrian Grand Prix, seeing both Dacias in the points was cool and Torrente won.

The FORMULA 1™ Awards
Driver of the Year: I would say, in terms of what he delivered in comparison to pre-season expectations, Ricciardo - given the situation before he went to Red Bull, he has managed to take three surprise wins this season, shown an adeptness in passing that has caught out even some of the veterans of the sport and has really captured the heart of the team in a way that left Vettel floundering in his wake.
Team of the Year: Mercedes deserves recognition for blowing the opposition into next week, but I'd say that, given the budget that they have had in relation to the performance they've delivered, Williams are also deserving of a lot of recognition.
Reject of the Year: Sauber - two drivers who have been, in all senses of the word, utterly pointless, a car that has shown no redeeming qualities and management that has seemed at a loss to pinpoint where things have been going wrong. To think that, in 2012 and 2013, this was a team that Adrian Newey was admiring for their inventiveness (not to mention outright copying at times)...
Mind you, I'd put McLaren right up there with them - botched sponsor negotiations that are reportedly putting Ron Dennis under pressure, terrible management of their drivers (especially, most probably, firing the driver that has done the most to salvage their reputation and their financial situation by keeping them ahead of Force India) and being off the pace for much of the season when they've had the best engine and a pretty healthy budget compared to their rivals, and it adds up to underpeforming woefully below what they should be doing.
Race of the Year: Probably Bahrein in terms of delivering a surprisingly eventful race.
Finish of the Year: Monaco - it's a shame that what Bianchi did there has come to nought though.
Deadbeat Teammate of the Year: Kimi - statistically, he had one of the worst relative performances against his team mate in the whole field and has done even worse against Alonso than Massa has and has generally been utterly lost on what to do with the car over the course of this season.
Most Improved Driver of the Year: In a way, I'm inclined to say Massa - whilst he didn't start the year particularly well, towards the end of this season he has really upped his game against Bottas and started to show more of the form of old that we had hoped to see.
Rookie of the Year: Kvyat
Most Anonymous Driver of the Year: Sutil - with the exception of Austin, he mainly ended up cropping up in the headlines for the wrong reasons, such as his crash in Monaco. His performance relative to Gutierrez was well short of expectations - it was Gutierrez who came far closer to scoring that Sutil ever did - and he never offered Sauber any sort of leadership either.
Crasher of the Year: Whilst Maldonado may have been involved in a more dramatic incident in Bahrain, Sutil actually crashed out more times than Maldonado - moreover, his crash in Monaco comprehensively wrote his car off too, so overall I'd give it to him.

The General Motorsports Awards (aka The Non-F1 Awards)
Driver of the Year: Tom Kristensen - it is going to be tough for Audi to find a driver of his experience and competitiveness.
Team of the Year: Toyota - much as I am somewhat loath to give them the award given that they were blatantly cheating for at least a third of this season, they have at least finally done something to break Audi's dominance in sportscar racing.
Reject of the Year: The Lotus and their P1/01 - didn't turn up until the 4th race of the season, where it transpired the car was little more than a modified LMP2 car (and often slower than the lead LMP2 cars to boot), has not finished a single race and the team nearly destroyed the car after a fire in Fuji.

Forum Member of the Year: Well, for me Biscione takes this award by default given that, without his sterling work, we wouldn't have a forum to begin with. Nuppiz, too, is also deserving of credit for his help in keeping this madhouse running.
Moderator of the Year: Kind of already covered above.
Thread of the Year: To be honest, there have been so many moments this year in various threads that it is hard to pick any particular one out.

Driver of the Year: Norbert Michelisz - His efforts in WTCC were great, beating even works Hondas. I almost chose Kristensen though.
Team of the Year: Team Penske - Dominating Indycar.
Reject of the Year: Alex Bowman - He was just too slow for being a NASCAR driver...
Race of the Year: Formula E, Round 1, Shanghai - It could be the birth of future's Formula 1, and it was extremely exciting.
Most Improved Driver of the Year: Juan Pablo Montoya - I thought this guy's career was over, but he made a great comeback!
Rookie of the Year: Stoffel Vandoorne - Convincing. I would want to see him against Magnussen

I have similar feelings, but can't help but feel we are missing out on technological and human fails. I was always amused by the spambots, however, they really aren't necessary.
