You don't seem to have Stéphane Sarrazin and Kazuki Nakajima down for the WEC. Also, Ricardo Rosset will defend his title in the mighty Porsche GT3 Cup Brasil.

Also, it's the Nürburgring 24h GT race, not Le Mans. And as you said, of course the wrong Baumgartner.

From the Historique Monaco Grand Prix, on a quick look I found three rejects competing: Tiff Needell, Paolo Barilla and Jean-Denis Deletraz!

Gaston Mazzacane and Norberto Fontana are competing in Turismo Carretera.
Fontana is also in TC2000, currently leading the championship.

Mimmo Schiattarella and Giovanni Lavaggi are in EuroV8 Series.

Of course the most F1 reject-studded series right now is the WEC, with the likes of di Grassi, Sarrazin, Albers, Nakano and Bruni, along
with a handful of F1 could-have-beens :)

Paolo Barilla just won the Mid-70s Formula 3 race at the Monaco Historique, the cars from the Piquet-Serra-Warwick era. Tiff Needell was also in this race.

Deletraz is Doing in 4th, driving a Durex Surtees, was battling with Katsui Kubota driving Ronnie Peterson's 1976 Penske-March, before the Japanese driver binned it on the approach to Massinet, and it brought out the safety cars, Deletraz remained in 4th and thus is still a Reject. Kubota won the Pre-73 F1 race earlier in a Proper Lotus.

So Jose Maria Lopez is making a name for himself in the WTCC, having won the first Russian race. OK so he's not technically a reject, but he's the only person who's been linked successfully with USF1, so :P

Have you guys been aware of this series? It presents Scott Speed, Nelsinho and Travis Pastrana as its top stars:

Yeah, it's not too shabby. Some of the tracks are very so-so (many are built up artificially on the pit-road/infield section at some NASCAR ovals), but some of the action is still good to watch. The real stars are Toomas Heikkinen and Sverre Isachsen (the latter drives like a man possessed most of the time). Meanwhile Patrik Sandell (can maybe be considered a reject of the WRC, had excellent junior career and then nothing of note happened in his senior career) has proven his bad luck will follow him wherever he goes.

Steve Arpin is there too. Also known as the guy who had the same equipment that Danica Patrick had in the NASCAR Nationwide series and somehow managed to make Danica Patrick look like Dale Earnhardt. -_-

Speaking of people who sucked in NASCAR... Travis Pastrana! :P

So that is why she now looks like Dale Earnhardt. ;-)

Jr. that is - in her popularity ratings.

The Alex Young: where the former F1 drivers are racing topic

Post by Dj_bereta »

Where the former F1 drivers are racing and how well they are doing in the other series? I created this thread for this.

With one race to go, Rubens Barrichello is leading the standings of Brazilian Stock Car by 14,5 points. it's really an impressive performance by the former F1 driver with most race starts, since it's only his 2nd season and no other former F1 driver had this success here since Ingo Hoffman and Raul Boesel. Sadly, the last race of Brazilian Stock Car is a "double points race" too.

Former F1 drivers in Brazilian Stock Car standings, with one race to go:

Code: Select all

1st - Rubens Barrichello    198
5th - Antonio Pizzonia      158.5
14th - Ricardo Zonta        108
18th - Luciano Burti         85

Burti is doing bad in this season (his worst season since 2010), with only four top 5 finishes in 11 races. It's his 10th season in Brazilian Stock Car, with only two victories and some podiums. A contender for ROTY podium in Brazilian Stock Car for sure, alongside with ex-Indycar driver Bia Figueiredo (30th, only 15 points in 11 races. If you count only drivers who participate of all races, she is the second worst driver).

Pizzonia still have slim chances of winning the title. It's his best season, after years of wasting chances. Zonta, you know, it's the same.
Waiting for Lotus hiring Johnny Cecotto jr.
