Re: 1981 Virtual F1 Season
A short summary of all the rule changes for 1981:
1) Revised chassis building and upgrading system
Each team has to build a new chassis for 1981, as the building and upgrading system has been changed. Full rules can be found on this wiki page:
http://formularejects.com/wiki/Pi314159 ... l_F1_rules
2) Revised engine building and upgrading system
A new engine building and upgrading system has been introduced as well. Full rules on the wiki page again.
3) Tyre war
4 different tyre suppliers are available for 1981: Goodyear, Michelin, Pirelli and Avon.
4) Limit on driver changes:
The number of drivers is limited to 8 per team and season from 1980 onwards
5) Money transfer between teams
Transferring money between teams can be vetoed by the sport's governing body. If I say nothing, consider them approved. I just wanted to have the possibility to veto deals like the ATS/Wolf one. I don't really mind that one, but if, for example, Penske decided to do the same thing as Wolf, a backmarker could have ended up with over 7 million. That would give that team an unfair advantage over their competitors.
As always, you can give feedback or suggest changes to the rules.
New calendar draft:

Williams would like to confirme their entry. Same for Matra.
We have a question: will tyre suppliers bring out updates during the season?

The management of Hart will go to the manager of Toleman, who will likely be AustralianStig. If AustralianStig declines, SuperAguri already expressed interest in managing Hart. The next new engine suppliers to join the series are Honda and TAG/Porsche in 1983.

Since Theodore are expecting a one-car entry for 1981, we'll naturally be looking for some engines. We'll also look into buying some belts, since we don't wish to get caught with our pants down.

The list of available sponsors has been added to the first post. Also, Toleman and Theodore have received the license to run a one-car team in 1981. Should teams withdraw or run only one car, first Toleman and then Theodore will get a second entry.

Arrows made a good season in 1980, proving that we can return to top teams and challenge Mclaren for the championship, as far as we have enough money. That is why only top sponsorship is crucial for us and we believe both parties shall gain with such deals. That is why this is our sponsorship choice:
Tier 1:
Marlboro: 6 000 000
Elf: 5 500 000
