Jackie Pretorius - RIP

Post by Bort »

Jackie Pretorius sadly died yesterday after being attacked in his home.
Jackie worked tirelessly to be ranked amongst our favourite rejects, with 4 entries into Formula One, resulting in one DNPQ, one NC and two retirements.

RIP Indeed. :(

My thoughts go to his family and friends. Shame he had to die at the hands of selfish morons, to be honest...

What a tragedy :(

A further tribute can be read here.

On an Atlas Nostalgia Forum post, someone has written: "A good enough driver in his day to be called up by Frank Williams to replace an injured Nanni Galli in the 1973 South African GP and brilliant in the 1971 season with the Team Gunston Brabham BT26A." Another writes "I hope Frank Williams is aware of these sad events; even in those far off days, Frank selected his drivers on talent, just as he does now. He was the best South African available that day, and there were many talented drivers down there at the time."

What kind of person beats a 74 year old to death? RIP Jackie.

:( Always sad to see a former Formula 1 driver pass on, but like this? It's a real shame, and my thoughts are going to his family and friends. RIP Jackie.

Everything's great.
I'm not surprised about anything.

RIP Jackie :(
It's sad to see anybody killed by thieves, the attackers achieve nothing. Must be horrible for family and friends, especially since it mentions this is how his wife was killed a few years ago. If the guilty are found they should be severely punished.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Indeed, an awful way to die in the hands of burglars. :( Hope they were caught or will be caught and be sentenced real hard!
