That is not sociopath. That is kind of normal. Give her these two piece of tragic news:

a) A guy that both of you don't now (like in 2000 Italy GP) and she is as cold as it can be ( and she was)

b) Give her the news that some dude she knew from TV or magazines died, and she will cry (or almost) like it was a relative or someone who she actually knows and likes.

This how today society responds to fame and fatalities.

Fixed. Acting like this is wired into our brains (see: selective perception). I've noticed misanthropy is always more appropriate than complaining about modern society.

I dunno, I'd think most people would at least feel slightly bad that it had happened; or at least pretend that they did. Anyway, I think there's a difference between not being able to feel it emotionally, and actually believing on an intellectual level that it was nobody important.

Fisichelli's first victory, Brazil 2003
Nico Hulkenberg in Brazil sans 2010 and 2012.
The entire 2008 British Grand prix podium, Hamilton's epic win, Heidfeld being Heidfeld and Barrichello coming 3rd in that awful Honda, so glad I was trackside for that one.
Grosjean qualifying 3rd on his F1 return, Aus 2012.

But by far the best moment, Hamilton passing Timo Glock to win the 2008 world championship.
(Close 2nd Button's victory in Canada 2011.) I like Maccas ok!

Last season definitely Alonso emphatic home victory at Valencia, and that Kamui P3 at Suzuka....others, maybe Barrichello first victory 2000. And, not a feel-good moment, but seeing Massa in front of his home crowd 2008....surely one of the moments you could not but just feel sorry for him.

Started watching at Monza 1995 so here's everything I can think of:
(Before the silly comments, there are MY moments)

Hill winning the title - Japan 1996
Hill scoring a point - Britain 1997
Hill taking the lead at Hungary - 1997 (Cried when he lost it on the last lap)
Hill winning at Spa - 1998 (cried)
Géne scoring a point for Minardi - Nurburgring 1999 (cried)
Hebert/Trulli/Barrichello podium - Nurburgring 1999
Frentzen's wins for Jordan - France and Italy 1999
Coulthard winning at home - Britain 1999 and 2000
Barrichello's first win - Germany 2000 (cried. Not as much as Rubens though)
Ralf Schumacher's first win - Imola 2001 (cried)
Alesi's doing donuts after scoring a point at Canada - 2001
Webber's dream debut - Australia 2002 (cried)
Fisichella's first win - Brazil 2003
HWNSNBM scores a point - Indy 2004
Minardi score 7 points in one race - Indy 2005 (Don't give a shite if there was only 6 drivers)
Montiero scoring a well-earned point at Spa - 2005
Button's first win - Hungary 2006 (moment almost ruined by James Allen being.. James Allen)
Hamiltons first podium - Australia 2007
Hamiltons first win - Canada 2007
Sato epicness - Canada 2007
Winklehock leading by a minute - Nurburgring 2007
Sutil scoring his first point for Spyker - Japan 2007 (Amazes me how so many people don't know this)
Kubica's first and only win - Canada 2008 (cried. Mainly because of what happened the previous year)
Kovalainen's first win - Hungary 2008
Vettel's first win - Italy 2008 (cried big time, only because it was still mostly Minardi crew and they must've dreamed about that day forever)
Sutil showing he had some skill - Monaco 2008
Hamilton's last-lap, last-corner Championship decider - Brazil 2008
Force India showing their true potential - Spa 2009
Sutil's front-row start - Monza 2009
Seeing the 'Senna' name back in F1 - Bahrain 2010 (got a bit misty-eyed when the grid was shown before the race)
Lotus back in F1 - Bahrain 2010
Hulkenberg's pole position - Brazil 2010
A 'Senna' finishes in the points - Italy 2011
Caterham being very competitive - Korea 2011
Perez's first podium - Malaysia 2012
Maldonado's first win - Spain 2012
Kobayashi podium - Japan 2012
Force India running at the front - Brazil 2012
Sutil leading - Australia 2013

So yeah, some pretty emotional moments in there. Not that I'm ashamed one bit.

1986 Indianapolis 500 - Bobby Rahal wins for a cancer-stricken team owner
1996 Indianapolis 500 - Buddy Lazier breaks his back in March, then wins the great race
2002 Long Beach GP - Michael Andretti's last win
2011 Indianapolis 500 - Wheldon gets an unlikely win within the twilight of his career
2013 Indianapolis 500 - Tony Kanaan finally wins (Although IMO Munoz deserved it more)

As I really like Sato, I'd nominate his only win in IndyCar so far, at Long Beach in 2013.

Every point scored by Minardi since i seriously started following F1 (99, 02,04) beats all else. The victories by Jordan and Stewart were also very nice, as so were in fact all unusual results.

Shame i wasn't following f1 yet in that legendary day, that an Andrea Moda somehow started a race.
I don't know what i want and i want it now!

Michael Schumacher's final pole position at Monaco 2012 surely has to be up there. Say what you want about the guy and yes, he did get it taken away from him, but it still cool to see the old man put in one last belter of a lap.

The best I can do for this thread is mention my most recent BFGM which also just happens to be Sir Wizzies. How fitting it was for MSC to hit the Monaco jackpot at this Drivers' Circuit, strip away all the surrounding nonsense and the things he did which he didnt really need to, he was a great F1 driver. A marvellous swansong.

In terms of favourite first win, I've got to go with Jenson Button.

Also, get a lot of good feeling from Raikkonen winning from the back of the grid in Japan 2005, the race after Alonso had wrapped up the championship.

I've only followed F1 closely since late 2010, so my favourite maiden winner is Rosberg in China 2012.

As for my favourite race so far, that would have to be Abu Dhabi 2012. Although Brazil was probably better, I had a stronger understanding of what was going on in Yas Marina. When Raikkonen got into second, I wondered whether he could win, as the Lotus was easily good enough to score multiple podiums but just not quite good enough to win. So when Hamilton retired, I was sad because of his cruel DNF (which makes you wonder why Hamilton left McLaren) but happy because Raikkonen was now leading and looked good to win at last. Through the rest of the race, I counted down the laps, wondering if Kimi could triumph.
When he did, I was virtually screaming - "AND KIMI RAIKKONEN WINS THE ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX!!!!!!!!!"
If the Hulk had won Brazil or at least finished on the podium that might have made it better, although it was a classic anyway.

-Alonso's first win, Hungary 2003 (thanks good_Ralf for posting an URL to that moment, I screamed like mad back in the day).
-For that matter, Alonso's first podium, Brazil 2003 (even though he was being taken to hospital after the race was stopped).
-Coulthard's emphatic win at Monaco 2002.
-Räikkönen's win in Belgium 2004.
-Alonso nabbing the World Championship after years of Michael Schumacher and Ferrari's dominance at Brazil 2005.
-Michael Schumacher's burn from the stern at Brazil 2006 (surprised no one has mentioned this yet).
-Räikkönen becoming World Champion at Brazil 2007.
-Alonso's podium at Singapore 2009.
-Kubica's podiums and spectacular qualifying laps in 2010.
-Alonso leading the Championship by some 40 points a year ago.
-Räikkönen's victory at Abu Dhabi 2012.
-Nico Rosberg's and Mercedes' win at China 2012.

OK, heres another one. Button first win for Brawn was a feel good moment as it seemed a fitting reward for the problems all team had suffered up until then. The fact that I thought it was a fluke and they'd be destroyed by McLaren in the following races also made it a sweet victory.

Hamilton's championship win in 2008. As a Hamilton fan, based on the fact that he comes from Hertfordshire like me, made it an amazing moment for me. The hilarity of the Ferrari team celebrating also made it more fun.

Also, is there a thread for this for non-F1 sporting moments?

The Best Feel Good Moments Outside of F1

Here it is. :)

Personally, in IndyCar, I was happy when in 2013 Tony Kanaan won the Indy 500 and when Takuma Sato won in IndyCar for the first time at Long Beach.

From about 1997 - a few years ago:

1997:

- Schumacher tries to take Villeneuve out and only takes himself out when Villeneuve wins the title.

1998:

- MEGAcrash at Spa, no one gets hurt.
- Schumacher hits Coulthard in Spa (At that time I hated Schumacher)
- Damon Hill winning that particular race.
- Mika Hakkinen WDC

1999:

- Eddie Irvine wins his first GP.
- Mika Hakkinen winning after a crazy moment when his car seemed to stop at Brazilian GP.
- Exciting GP of Canada with lots of incidents.
- Even more exciting GP of France with Frentzen winning after being overtaken twice by Mika Hakkinen, but he had the better strategy (and Mika also Spun once, which cost him several seconds).
- Action-filled European GP with Herbert and Trulli second in front of Rubinho.
- Gene scoring a point in that race.
- In the end Mika Hakkinen 2nd Championship after lots of crazy mistakes and bad luck.

2000:

- BAR scoring first points after that rejectful 1999-debute.
- Verstappen in third position in Brazilian GP (only not scoring points by being tired).
- Schumacher retires three times in a row.
- Verstappen scoring points by good drive in rain in Canada
- Barrichello's first win :)
- Discovering that I was sitting on the very edge of my chair when the Belgian GP was finished with my favorite driver winning after a brilliant overtaking-maneuver.
- Verstappen 4th in Monza.

2001:

- Verstappen driving like hell in Malaysian rain.
- Verstappen's race in Austria.
- Hakkinen winning Silverstone and Indy after lots of bad luck.
- Fisichella driving surprisingly well at Spa and takes a podium.

2002 (pretty dull season):

- Mark Webber scoring 5th a his very first race in a Minardi.

William Buller's GP3 win from the back of the grid.
Tony Kaanan finally winning the Indy 500.

In terms of non-related motorsport moments, this moment against Leicester I'll remember forever as a Watford fan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59E-kVQ3ZlU

I'm back! Doubt you even missed/remember me.....

I liked Paul O'Neill's first BTCC win in 2002 at Oulton Park. Never have I seen such emotion!
