There's DTM and all the Formula Renault series. Also WEC far off in the future, but at this point it doesn't have enough races for that to be interesting.

I added BTCC / Plato, DTM / Schneider, Superstock 600 / vd Mark, Superstock 1000 / Badovini, and V8 / Lowndes. Thanks.

I would like confirmations on:

NHRA Pro Stock
3. Warren Johnson - 97 wins

NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle
17. Dave Schultz - 45 wins

They are the only ones I'm not 100% sure about.

It's not a championship, but Stéphane Peterhansel's 11 victories in the Dakar rally (6 of them with a bike, 5 with a car) is quite an achievement, too.

I have now added a whole host of series and championships above. It's almost complete.
I would still like confirmations on NHRA Pro Stock Warren Johnson - 97 wins and NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Dave Schultz - 45 wins.

And then there is conflicting information on the V8 Supercar Championship Series. So far I have seen stats where Craig Lowndes is the leader with 91, 90 or 43(!).
And also that Jamie Whincup is the leader with 68.

The 43 for Lowndes is round wins. For race wins, Lowndes is indeed the leader on 91 wins as I first stated - it seems Wikipedia hasn't been updated everywhere, since he only secured win #91 at the last meeting.

Odd fact, Richard Petty produced all 200 wins in his first 25 seasons and was ineffective and downright reject worthy of the Hang Up the Helmet award by the late 1980s where he was being outperformed by even the most mediocre of NASCAR drivers like Jimmy Spencer (who was a rookie in 1989, Petty's worst season), Michael Waltrip (former holder of most NASCAR Cup Series starts without a win who continued his winless ways until 2001), and Lake Speed (the guy who beat Senna in the Carting Championships yet never amounted to more than a midfield NASCAR driver).

Lowndes is now in the list. Sick amount of wins.

Two series I would like to add, British Superbikes (BSB) and European Touring Car Championship (ETCC).
Does anyone know? I suspect an Italian is the leader in ETCC, Larini, Giovanardi or Tarquini?

BSB would probably be Shane Byrne wouldn't it? He's been around for years though I haven't been following it closely for some time now since it disappeared off TV.

Hey, every round has a 1-hour highlights show on ITV4 ...

But yes, Shakey just overtook Kiyonari for the most wins record earlier this season.

He is a 3-time BSB champion. But so is Niall Mackenzie, John Reynolds and Ryuichi Kiyonari.
I don't know who has the most race wins all-time, though.

Actually, just checked the stats there, and it lists Shakey as having, 41, as you said, but Kiyo is shown as 43, so I guess those have not been updated since the start of the season.

Looked on his official website, with no luck. The 'proper' number was 44 as to take the record, according to this highly reputable source :
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/motorsport/superbikes/4887988/BSB-News-Shane-Shakey-Byrne-sets-new-British-Superbikes-record-of-44-race-wins.html and he won a race last weeked at Oulton Park, so I make it
45 wins as of now.

I think it varies, it was on Wednesday this week. I just have it set on Series Link on my Freesat box...

It's on the ITV Player, and looks to be on TV tomorrow night as well. Last round wasn't that great TBH, but it's free Motorsport on the telly!

Hope you enjoy it!

WJ is correct. "The Professor" was flat out unbeatable in the early to mid 90s, before some rule changes, and age caught up with him. Now he often DNQs. Sad really.

Despite watching the NHRA all my life, and being a member/license holder for over a decade, I've never heard of Dave Schultz, so I have no idea if thats right. If it is, he must have been ridiculous when he raced, to accomulate that many wins so quickly......

I've watched quite a bit of Angelle Sampey's career on YT, she was a hell of a racer in Pro Stock Motorcycles. Won the championship in '00, '01 & '02.
And when she retired with 41 wins, they said she was 4 wins behind the late Dave Schultz's record of 45 wins.
I've also seen several sources now saying that Schultz is indeed still the record-holder.

ETCC?
I can't find the all-time leader in wins.

And I also added the Speedcar Series to the list (Jean Alesi). Does anyone else remember that short-lived series? xD

I counted for the recent incarnation of the ETCC (2000-2004), and I believe that the record-holder is Gabriele Tarquini, with 21 wins.

I find this stat surprising considering he didn't get a proper break in F1... I guess it comes down to this

Right up until Bianchi (and, I suppose, Frijns), Kubica was the only non Red Bull driver to go from Formula Renault 3.5 to Formula 1 full stop - all the other drivers that raced in FR 3.5 that moved up to F1 had to go through GP2 in between (e.g. Chandhok - who was himself formerly backed by Red Bull - went from FR 3.5 to GP2, as did Pic, Maldonado and van der Garde), because GP2 was intended to be the "accepted" way into F1.

I had to look up Alonso's career history, and I didn't realise that even he went from the Nissan-sponsored predecessor to the Renault series to F1 via F3000. So Mario was right, even with FR3.5 and GP2's predecessor series...

Angelle indeed was a hell of a racer, and a hell of a person, she always had time to chat with us in the pits. I was curious about Mr. Schultz, so I fpulled this from the NHRA's website:

Schultz won NHRA Pro Stock Bike championships in (1987-88, 1991, 1993-94, 1996).

Schultz's 45 wins are a class record, and rank him seventh overall in NHRA national event victories. He also holds the record for consecutive victories (8) by an NHRA Professional competitor, set in 1994.

Schultz also was the first NHRA Winston Pro Stock Bike rider torun quicker than 7.60 seconds and faster than 180 mph and finished in the top 5 in Winston points standings for 14 consecutive seasons.

That's just horrifyingly dominate. Makes the current Harley team look tame.

He doesn't lead a series in wins though, does he?

In Brazilian Stock Cars, the driver with most wins is Ingo Hoffman, with 76. Also, he is the driver with most titles, 12.
Waiting for Lotus hiring Johnny Cecotto jr.

May have missed seeing on the list, but is their an entry on the World Sportscar Championship that had all those lovely Group C's in? If it isn't and is added would the Le Man's Race be counted in their as I think it was only non championship in its later years.

I'd have to dig through RacingReference to check on his USAC wins vs. his CART wins. IndyCar does treat CART, IRL, and USAC results as being the same series -- much the same way CART did with USAC.

You should add Steve Kinser for World of Outlaws, who has something like 575 career wins in World of Outlaws. At least, 575 in the middle of April, that number could have gone up since then.

Foyt has 67 USAC wins. Mario is still overshadowed by A.J. Foyt although Michael Andretti is displaced to third.

British national/club racing: Gerry Marshall, who had over 600 wins in all categories by the time he sadly passed away while testing at Silverstone.
