Maxim Fomenko circuit of Lake Balqash

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5589651

Circuit starts with very fast kink. Then continuing full speed until left-hander which needs just a small braking. Followed by a fast right-hander next corner is slow one. Acceleration and tight right-hander until we reach 1,5-kilometre purpose built bridge section which has some fast corners. After drivers have exited the bridge, the tricky section starts with lots of cornering. Tight left-hander ends that section and we are back in long full-speed section where startline is.

There hasn't been a new circuit proposal and since we are few days behind normal schedule I stop the first part here. Nine different circuits this time.

OK, Waffle Cat may change the deadline, but I just posted because it had already taken longer time than previous design phase, and before this drops into page 2.

I have just returned to this forum after a short holiday, and this has indeed dropped to page 2 (just!) and only two people have voted in a week?! I haven't looked at all the entries for some time (and I have a lot of threads to catch up on) so won't vote now, but please take this as a prompt to do so!

I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of voting especially after some of dr-baker's reminders, but I think I should start the next round just to get interest back.As tommykl looks like the clear winner,he will pick the next round.

I apologise for neither entering nor voting. I have very little free time at the moment, with a lot on my plate, so things like this have to take a back seat I'm afraid. That said, whilst I don't want to criticise Jeremy, the stipulations for this round were pretty vague and didn't offer much of a challenge. I think future winners should take note of this and be more specific with their set of guidelines when deciding on an area to use.

Then, here I go:

-The circuit can use only existing roads, no other roads may be built.
-The circuit must be between 2km and 8km long
-The circuit must be located in the Belgian province of Liège (just so I can say how good some of them can actually be)
-The circuit must be awesome :P

That's it, no real guidelines, the length of the track is pretty much a liberty, and roads aren't what's lacking in Liège. Good roads, however, are :P

Here's an entry, though it may not be my final entry:

It was originally part of two much longer circuits that were too long for the competition:

I'll actually rank the whole ten this time :P

1. WaffleCat - the only one who thought of using the Boulevard de la Sauvenière, which I always thought would make a great pitlane, plus some nice flowing corners and the Place St Lambert.
2. dr-baker - that place has some great scenery overlooking Liège and some flowing corners coupled with some straight part for overtaking, but just enough. Nice job.
3. Aerond - nice find there with the roads on the side of the valley and some good elevation changes. A drawback would be the width of the track though.
4. pi314159 - actually the track closest to where I live, nice flowing corners inside the woods, but I was a bit disappointed by the fiddly bit in front of the casino.
5. eurobrun - I think you were going for an Adelaide-esque track, and you used the Boulevard d'Avroy nicely, but I feel you could have made the transition to the other side of the park a bith smoother.
6. Benetton - it's a good track, flowing with an overtaking spot or two, but it looks oddly like the Hungaroring, which can't be all that good.
7. Captain Hammer - you would have been second had you been able to use more of your original track. the climb to the Sart-Tilman is simply brilliant to drive on, and I keep thinking it would make a great hillclimb.
8. UgncreativeUsergname - I can't see anything wrong with the track, and its location gives it some points, but I can't see any part in the track itself that would make it exciting.
9. Bleu - I've never actually been to Huy, but it looks like a very nice track you created there, though the last part lacks flow, and that's what I like in a track.
10. Wizzie - this track would have been at the very front in another round, but with the quality of the other tracks, there were too many 90° corners for my taste.
