Avatars??
Avatars??
Can I get a picture that fits the bloody avatar limits???
Can I buggery!
Eddie Irvine in the BRG Jaguar F1 car; that's all I ask.
Any ideas?

How ironic; Alonso loses because the Renault in front of him doesn't crash, or indeed feel inclined to pull over and let him pass!!!

Resize it using basic photo editing software, not paint 'cos it stays the same size in terms of bytes.
Better than 'Tour in a suit case' Takagi.

I found it a right faf to be honest. But then it was Paint that eventually worked for me, so just keep trying different things, and you'll do it eventually.

Re: Avatars??
Try resizing in software like irfanview, it's free and simple.

You'd probably have to start with a picture that's under 6kb.

I don't have the software installed at the moment but when you use save as or save for web, a window should open where you'll be able to choose file type and quality which obviously affect the file size.

Do you have a computer with Office 2003? If you do, open the image using the Office Picture Manager, and use the option to compact the image, or whatever it's called. Easy-peasy.

6gb? How big is this picture? 10000dpi? So detailed you could see dust sitting on irvines nosehair?
<@Ataxia> these people are making a mess of their crepe suzettes
Re: Avatars??
In case you are using a bmp format - these are huge. Save it as a jpg format file.

Re: Avatars??
Perversely, i find mspaint .jpgs the best way to make small forum avatars. Even If i set Photoshop to its most agressive jpg compression, the quality is worse and the filesize bigger than what's produced by paint.
I coined the term "Lewisteria". The irony is that I actually quite like Lewis Hamilton.
Re: Avatars??
They are quite small, I have seen a little bigger on other forums. But don't want to have same avatars as in other places. This is rejects forum so my avatar contains two reject drivers and two reject teams (if you count teams with owner/name changes separately).

Got my new avatar sorted thanks to a guardian angel!!
I think it looks very nice too.
