The Wolfgang von Trips Memorial Trophy

Post by takagi_for_the_win »

Yep, another alternative championship. Basically, all drivers are eligble until their first full season as a GP winner. E.G. Ayrton Senna would be ineligble in 1986 and beyond (first won in 85), Hakkinens last year would be 97 and Vettel would be ineligble from 2009 onwards. I'll start with 1951 in the morn.

Sounds good. Can't wait till you get to the later years!

(So anyone who scores a win in their first season, such as Lewis Hamilton or Jacques Villeneuve for instance, is only eligible for that one season?)

Yup, the likes of Hamilton and Villeneuve are only eligible for their rookie season. However, Nick Heidfeld will do well, methinks...

Sorry to fire you another question - in the season that a driver scores their first real win, are they eligible until the end of that particular season? (eg Lewis Hamilton's first win was Canada '07 - is he eligible for just the races up to Canada or all of them up to Brazil)?

In Hamiltons case, he would be eligible for all the races up to and including Brazil 07.
