The oldest living F1 driver has died aged 95: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/120491

What a depressing week this is turning out to be.

A single GP entry for Connaught, at the 1952 British Grand Prix, and was already half-way to unrejectification when he finished fifth.

RIP Eric Thompson.

He achieved more on his debut than many of the sport's greats managed.

RIP Eric, 95 is a hell of an innings.

It is probably no surprise that I have a soft spot for all the drivers whose careers we researched and profiled, even if it was over a decade ago. Eric Thompson was one of the little-remembered profiles on the site, and on top of Guy Ligier and Justin Wilson, this has made it a very sad week all round. RIP Eric.
