Re: 2013 Comment: Sebastian the Great?
He proved it in the Toro Rosso in 2008, when he was less experienced than he is now. I do agree that, for all those on the "anti-Vettel" side who say "he's won all his victories in the best car", there is Italy 2008 to consider. Which is why I had to make mention of it in the ar...

Mark Webber retrospective
Hi everyone, As well as our upcoming 2013 season review (and our traditional season review / Christmas / new year podcast - don't hold your breath, it won't be coming until sometime between Christmas and new year at the earliest), one thing to look out for in the coming days is a Mark Webber retrosp...

2013 Comment: Sebastian the Great?
Hi everyone, In the last of our 2013 season comments before our season review, I risk a barrage of papayas and starting a brand new flame war by asking the question: is Sebastian Vettel an F1 great? I'd like to think that I have considered both sides of the debate, even though ultimately I reach my ...

New Centrale article: Marking Webber
Hi everyone, Another one of the articles we were planning is now up - a Centrale article assessing Mark Webber's career and his strengths and weaknesses as a driver, in the wake of his departure from F1 for sports cars. A link to the article is on the main page of the website; otherwise you can acce...

Well, now that it's been published (and a brilliant read, as always), I believe it's time to gaze at the "Currently Working On:" section of the drivers index... And so, my guesses are: -Frank Gardner -Gino Bianco -Ronnie Bucknum -Masahiro Hasemi It's either Bucknum or Foyt. Foyt happens t...

The 82 Renault and 75 Shadow are pretty damn smoking as well, if I may say I agree about the 1975 Shadow. I wish I could look at that in real life all day. Seriously, instead of double-points-last-race, or permanent numbers, or pole trophies, if F1 wants to put in place a gimmick that might actuall...

Hi everyone, After working on it in fits and spurts over the last few months, in whatever spare time I could find, finally the biography of Patrick Friesacher is complete! Re: Mandatory pit stops in F1?
The only thing I can see this accomplishing is creating more pitlane collisions by effectively forcing all drivers to pit simultaneously. I tend to agree with this. Mandatory pit stops won't make races interesting. They don't really create much of a variety in pit strategys, they're rather limiting...

Most of the interest is effectively in the three way battle between Mercedes, Ferrari and Lotus over 2nd to 4th in the WCC, since those placings are the only ones that are likely to change in this final race. What about the battle for 3rd in the drivers' points? Hamilton 187, Raikkonen 183 and side...
