Williams also tested steel brakes in tests before the 1995 British Grand Prix. Damon Hill was impressed by their performance, but the team elected to stick with carbon fibre.

Re: Did Flavio Briatore almost get killed in London ?
The only Italian driver i can think of is in this case Giovanni Bonanno ? Yes! That's him. It was a Tony Dodgins column for Autosport: I found it reposted here Flavio was always colourful. Shortly after he moved to something a little more substantial in a Mayfair square, his front door made a Semte...

Re: Did Flavio Briatore almost get killed in London ?
I read somewhere (can't remember the source) that the rumour was that he had given an Italian racing driver with links to the mafia an F1 (or F3000?) test, which had been hampered by reliability problems, and the driver's backers were displaying their displeasure at having to pay for such an unprodu...

Re: Project unracedF1.com
Will this site cover test drivers who never made it into an F1 race seat? Or perhaps famous drivers/riders from other disciplines, e.g. Rossi, McRae, Loeb, testing F1 cars?
I think this is a great idea, and would be happy to get involved in some way once it is up and running.

On the other hand, it looks like the car has the "high wing" configuration - that would point to a later date than 1967, more likely late 1968 to early 1969. It's a bit of a puzzle, that particular photo, and not at all easy to judge when it was taken. Very good point! I hadn't noticed th...

It's the first corner of the Österreichring. I'll say it again: it's the "Hella-Licht Schikane". It can't be Imola because the Brabham's colours are the wrong way around. Compare it with these images from 1987: http://i.imgur.com/1aWO8.jpg http://i.imgur.com/aDhb9.jpg
