Re: What If?
What if Damon Hill had joined Jordan a year earlier? Probably would have scored their first win a year early, given how good the Jordan was in 1997, no offence to Ralf or Fisichella but a more experienced driver certainly could and would have won a race. I said the same on Big Zeddie's YouTube chan...

Re: ROTRs outside F1
The current rules on track limits in the British Touring Car Championship have just become a strong contender for ROTY for this BTCC Season in my opinion. They certainly earned the Reject of the Race Award for Race 3 at Brands Hatch today! Seriously! What was Ricky Collard supposed to do? Just let ...

Re: Unusual F1 Stats
Some of the top non-Europeans: Liam Lawson had five wins in F2 over two seasons - however none of them in feature races. Won also his first Super Formula race this year. Felipe Drugovich is reigning F2 champion but I'm not very optimistic he can find a drive in F1 soon. Enzo Fittipaldi had some gre...

Re: The _TCC Series Thread
The current rules on track limits in the British Touring Car Championship have got to be among the most farcical rules of recent times, given what happened to Ricky Collard today in Race 3 at Brands Hatch, the fact he didn't receive any warning whatsoever until after he'd crossed the finish line mak...

Re: Interesting tweets
How was its use at the 1993 Brazilian GP tragic? (I guess you are assuming that the second use of the safety car was actually the 1994 San Marino GP, which I think is either the 3rd or 4th use of the car.) I did mean Imola 1994, sorry, my bad! If that was the 3rd time then that was the definition o...

Sometimes I come across an interesting tweet that I want to share on here, but can't find a suitable place for it, so I'm making a place. 2 Wins out of 3 for Dan Cammish in the 2023 BTCC season-opener and a wet Race 2 sees Tom Chilton score his first win since 2019. The real star of Race 2 has got to be Nic Hamilton though, finishing in P6, could have been even better if he hadn't run wide a couple of times but still! It was great to...

Yeah, it was so rejectful for Lewis Hamilton in 2008 and Jenson Button in 2009! What am I supposed to be thinking? I should have been more clear. I was referring to the fact that the numbers on the rear window are all cockeyed. They got it right on the other side. https://www.btcc.net/wp-content/ga...

I have it in my mind that if Hill had been in the 1998 McLaren then MSC would have won the championship, as Hill takes more points off Hakkinen than Coulthard does earlier in the season, plus MSC wins Spa because Hill is further up the road than DC so doesn't get lapped and therefore THAT accident ...

Re: Biggest drop-offs in performance over a season
As the 'End of DC's Championship Dreams' article on the main site testifies, David Coulthard's 2001 Season has got to be one of the biggest drop-offs in F1 History, he scored 38 points and two wins in the first 6 races. In the remaining 11, he only scored 27 points, less than every other Ferrari/McL...

Not sure if this is more of a stat or a coincidence but in the 1996-2013 era of teams being numbered in the order in which they finished in the previous year's Constructor's Championship, Williams could have run every number lower than 20: 1 & 2 (1998) 3 & 4 (1997, 2003, 2004) 5 & 6 (199...

Berger in 1989, didn't he have retirements in all of his entered races until about round 10, the crash in san marino kept him out of Monaco as well iirc Berger's 1991 season could count as well: He racked up only 10 points and 5 DNFs in the first 7 races, including a run of 4 straight from Monaco t...

Jaguar had a better one in 2002. From barely qualifying ahead of Minardi’s (well Mark Webber’s car anyway) for most of the year to scoring the only non Ferrari-Williams-McLaren podium all year at Monza That's true, in Eddie Irvine's case, that is. PDLR failed to score and finished behind Alex Yoong...

While we're on the subject, just how many teams was Damon Hill linked to for 1997 before he signed for Arrows? I think he was also linked with McLaren and Jordan as well. Obviously the latter move happened a year later but I think he turned McLaren down which he probably regretted come the start of...

Jaguar and Toyota in 2003 perhaps?
First half of the season, only 6 points for Jag and only 4 for Toyota, then they scored 12 points each in the 2nd half!
