Re: Middlebridge Benetton BMW & Pirro

Too bad I don't know any much Italian :) . But thank's from the link anyway, I can still get the main points from the text by deducing. Seen some of these already at StatsF1 already, but they didn't have much information about the cars. :)

Re: Middlebridge Benetton BMW & Pirro

Well the answer for if this would qualify as an F1 Reject on this site is no. Just because it never ran in an F1 event. For the very same reason we won't see profiles of the likes of Bravo F1 or Dome, since all of these projects were thrown to the dumpster. Never heard of that project before though,...

Schmucks, I've fallen to different April Fools Day jokes three times today! :D
But it would have been awesome if it had been true!

Re: Paul Stoddart buys Torro Rosso

It would be really nice indeed that this legendary name would make a return to the grid. I always kinda liked them even if they were at the back of the grid. Toro Rosso really was (and is) too much of a Res Bull B-team. And Minardi has changed it's name only once, comparing to Jordan, which was sold...

Re: Question about 1950-1960 Indy 500 drivers...

Does anyone know if any of the European drivers at the time attempted to qualify during the '50-'60 period? I'm aware that Ascari attempted the race and didn't do all that well, did any other driver make an effort during the time? The only European (apart from Ascari) I could find out to have attem...

Re: USGP Major sponsor thoughts

Sponsoring the US F1 GP would probably stir up quite much of anger among American sports people, since the typical Americans seem to prefer their own motor racing series to F1 or any European series any time given! The people would then ask why the government's giving money for a sport that has no n...

I think I'll start to listen for these, now that they finally work on my computer

Also, thanks for the forum. A good place to have a chat about F1 in general, but also about the reject drivers and the site itself!

Re: Can Jenson Button Become WDC?

Indeed, it would be nice for a long while to see a champion that wasn't even nearly considered as a future Champion before the first race. Think about Häkkinen. One win (and even that thanks to Villeneuve's "generosity" in Jerez) before the 1998 Season. And we all know what happened that s...

I read this very same thing in Iltalehti, a popular Finnish newspaper. Yes, the odds are in his favour, but F1 is always full of surprises

Re: Least talented F1 Driver Ever?

The worst? Well, Yuji Ide WAS an extremely awful driver. He was a danger to anyone near him, whilst Deletraz & Co. were slow, but at least not that dangerous drivers.

Re: Your Favourite Reject RACE????

Not a single one of Tilke's tracks are good in my opinion. But that's a matter of taste.

As for the reject race, considering that my history in F1 is quite short, I'd say 2005 USA. A good thing only for Monteiro and Karthikeyan to avoid being listed here...

Re: Favourite Reject Driver and Team

I am sure F1 Rejects could throw out the rules for Osella as they were pretty poor in the other races and apart from the 5th, the 4th was a gift like Tiago Monteiro getting 3rd in the 2005 USA GP. Well, Rial and Onyx got profiles with 6 points, so I hope Osella one day could get one too, or be incl...

Re: Favourite Reject Driver and Team

Well, my choices for the drivers are quite a few guys that showed good talent in F1 or other classes, but were never allowed to drive in a competitive car or were sidelined by their team. So here we go: Olivier Beretta, Norberto Fontana and Franck Lagorce. After a bit of cosideration, I would pick u...

Re: 2009 Regulations & Innovations

I guess we've seen all regulatory innovations for this season work out like charm today: more overtaking, KERS in action, the new safety car rules. Kudos to the FIA. Please bring back the 10-6-4-3-2-1 points system. Feel free to award 1/2 a point for 7th place and 1/4 of a point for 8th place if yo...

Re: "The Spirit of the Rules": Diffuser Discussions

Aye, aye, Capt'n H. I admire your analysis. Bert's comment reminds me of a discussion we had with Mischa, of m and Sat podcast fame, who suggested to us that he thought whatever loophole was in the regulations was put there deliberately to encourage innovation and to shake up the grid a little. He ...

Re: Melbourne GP Race discussion

It's nice to see such a shift in team balance and big increase in overtaking that we witnessed now. I was especially surprised of Brawn GP's performance, even if their off-season times were promising. Though, as a Finn, I'm a bit disappointed with Kovalainen and Räikkönen, but at least the half-Finn...
