Re: Ugliest Non-Reject Car design

I know this isn't an F1 car but Kenny Hamilton's 1982 Indy 500 car must get some mention http://www.indy500.com/image/fit/w/640/h/480/wm/1/?img=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.imscdn.com%2Fgallery%2F500%2Findy%2F1982%2F19820101-nphotographer%2Fmed%2F1982637-2760.jpg There was an article in Autosport about this ca...

Re: New teams for 2010

This is a rather unexpected one, isn't it? If they have a Mike Gascoyne-designed car, they could be off to a good start...

I hope not. I don't think the parties involved will be that stupid and pig-headed. But sadly you never know with F1.

Re: Ferrari 'to quit' over budget row

I'd be very surprised indeed if we don't see Ferrari on the grid next year. However, I expect that the FIA will have to back down over some of their proposed changes, and in the end there'll be some sort of compromise.

Re: Spanish GP Discussion

I think it will be a pretty close battle between Vettel and Button tomorrow - Button's best chance is if Massa gets a great KERS start, puts himself into second and Button can scurry off into the distance. If Massa gets ahead of them all at the start, it'll make an interesting race. On the subject o...

Re: If Senna had lived...

There's a Dutch chap who's writing one of those alternative history novels based on this premise, I believe. It's called "The Encounter Down Under", and he has a website somewhere, although I don't think he'll be troubling the Times bestsellers list.

They deserve a bit of luck somewhere. Sutil's going to have to score a point for them eventually, surely?

Re: Lots of Rule Changes For 2010 (All Listed Here)

It will be interesting to see who goes for what option, in terms of obeying the budget cap or not. I am still not sure there is enough money around to get three new teams into the sport, though.

I'm not sure we'll see more than one new team next year. I just don't see that many people being able to get together serious entries.

Re: Submit A Reject

I keep meaning to do an article on someone who isn't a reject (unless you count most races without a win - I think he still holds the record?) but who had a very reject-worthy season. I'm talking about Brundle He still holds it - unless Heidfeld doesn't win this season and drives all of the GP's. I...

Re: Does anyone here rate Sebastian Bourdais?

This can't be true, can it? m But a bad day for Bourdais, who reckoned the race shouldn’t have been run, spun behind the Safety Car, but saved his biggest accident for an hour after the race. For some reason, he took it upon himself to dry out the inside of his crash helmet. His tool of choice was a...

I had to follow this one on the monitor at work (can't wait until Barcelona and my first chance this year to watch a race properly and without distractions!), but managed to see almost all of it, and enjoyed what I saw. The Red Bulls was fairly dominant, but it will be interesting to see how things ...

Re: Flav on the warpath

What's most intriguing about all this is Button's suggestion that Briatore wanted to sign him for 2009 - presumably in place of Piquet. Doesn't speak volumes for the confidence Renault feel in Nelson Junior! But then again, that's hardly much of a surprise.

Re: Your Favourite Reject RACE????

I know "favourite" is a bizarre word to associate with this race, but it probably has to be the 2005 United States Grand Prix - an oddly compelling disaster, in the build-up and opening of the 'race' at least, like watching someone shoot themselves in the head.

Re: Pacific Grand Prix's website

Presumably it's just sitting on some HP webspace somewhere, and has been quietly forgotten about by all concerned. I'm sure at some point they'll notice and wipe it off - unless of course it's being protected by a closet F1 fan somewhere in the company! Great that it still exists, though. A real pie...
