Re: Your Reject of the Race - Valencia!

My ROTR may surprise many as... Sebastien Buemi Was the main participant in the Turn 1 shuntfest, but was woefully slow compared to fellow victims Glock and new boy Grosjean. Brake fail meant he could retire and avoid the ignomy of finishing stone dead last on the road, and meaning he has been beate...

Re: 2010 Sporting & Technical Regulations Released

I think Williams is just throwing a tantrum because the cool kids wont let them into their gang.
Or in real terms, they are pissed off at FOTA for not letting them back in.

Re: Looks Like Kimi Is Surely Out Now

Skoda also had some WRC Rejects race for them too. Like Bruno Thiry. He had an awful season in 2001. Failed to score a point. 3 8th places was his best result all season. Whereas Schwarz managed a 3rd at the Safari Rally that year. But at least they weren't as bad as Suzuki. If there was a WRC Rejec...

Re: Your Reject of the Race - Valencia!

As slow as he was, I think Hamiton is beating Badoer to ROTR after that gaff in Practise 2. Its Arrows at Monaco 1996 all over again! lol.

Re: Looks Like Kimi Is Surely Out Now

Yes they did. Firstly with the Octavia in 2000 I think(which was crap) and then the previous generation Fabia in 2003 (also crap).
They seem to have got it right this time though. The new Fabia is beating everything in its class now. Even the more powerful Group N spec cars in the WRC.

That's very intersting speculation. I can't wait to see how he'll react. Will he quit???

No. He will be fired. And replaced with Senna.
Probably.

Re: Only in a game.....

On F1 05, if you were to retire midway through a race with pitstops enabled, in a 6 lap race..somehow it all went to hell with the standings. You would have Alonso, Kimi, Schumi etc finishing 2 laps down and a Podium consisting of Sato, Albers and Liuzzi! Was very messed up indeed.

Re: Looks Like Kimi Is Surely Out Now

This was sooo 3 months ago.
Fiat & VWs possible entry to WRC rumor has been flying around for months and months and months.
Plus Skoda rumour too will graduate to top class instead of current PWRC.
So yeah, I have been saying since about April Kimi will go to WRC next year.

Re: Thoughts on Romain Grosjean

So basically if Badoer and Grosjean make Q2 (thanks to their equipment, I think his Renault could just sneak 15th place) there will be a massive shunt at the back of the pack. So basically after Lap 1 we will have 16 cars left (but with Fisi and Buemi a lap down after their nosecones probably get sm...

Re: Thoughts on Romain Grosjean

I think its more like two races at the same time. You got 18 guys racing for the overall win, and then we'll need to invent a whole new class for Grosjean and Alguersuari. Maybe they will take each other out and Sutil at Turn 1?

Mansell makes Comeback!

Sort of.

He will be racing in the AUTOSPORT 1000Km race at Silverstone in September, the final round of the Le Mans Series, for Ginetta-Zytek.

Montangy did some Champ Car races in 2007, with PKV I think...but not 100% sure.
So its nothing new really.
And yeah, he wasnt really a true Super Aguri driver. Just a foreign mid-season replacement who nobody gave a toss about.

Re: Most Forgettable Drivers

The problem with the rubbish drivers nowadays is they are not truly rubbish , they're just very mediocre. Whoever here does the Twitter posts, had a point when he said Bourdais' story lacked a certain je ne sais quoi because unlike most rejects, nothing went catastrophically wrong. He was just a bit...

Re: Renault's in for Valencia

Conspiracy theory: old Bernie talked Luca and Schumi into the whole "Michael's back" shenanigan after Renault was kicked out of Valencia - for a price (maybe the return of veto power over technical regulations?). For the ticket sales to hang on, the Schumster had to race. Since he can't, ...
