Re: Your Reject of the Race - China
(first post in a long while!) I'm afraid I have to go with the grain and say McLaren. Sorry Jense, I don't think McLaren are the second fastest car after Mercedes! Dishonourable mention goes to RBR - they're continually wasting prime advertising space by not putting sponsors on Dan Ricciardo's teeth...

Re: Your Reject of the Year 2012
The talent below F1 - Bottas is a capable driver, but I can't see him making much of an impression next year. Gutierrez? Well, we'll have to wait and see. But it seems to me that the talent pool has really dried up as of late. GP2 and FR3.5 seem to be filled with drivers on second or third chances....

Re: Your Reject of the Year 2012
I'm not sure this is completely fair in other people's opinions - but here I go anyway. I would posture that one candidate for ROTY is... " The Talent of the Future " This is looking at the younger guys who've come into F1 in the past couple of seasons. For a start, there haven't been that...

Re: Sayonara, cowboy!
According to some sources in the paddock (one of which is Ted Kravitz) we may already have witnessed Kamui's final goodbye as the silly crash. Rumour has it that Sauber will be putting Gutierrez in the car for the last few races to "ready" him for next year. Can't help but think poor old K...

Well, it's nice to see that Christian is getting another chance as he seemed to be impressive enough in Singapore.
However, Sakon hasn't actually been that bad I don't think. He's managed to keep pace with Bruno in his time (even if I'd rather it were Chandhok in the car!)

Re: Rookies To Come Into F1 in a few years time
Sebastian Buemi's cousin, Natascha Gachnang? (Even if only at a backmarker team for the publicity)? Well, she had a full year against a fairly weak field in F2 in 2009 - and scored 2 points. I don't think even a backmarker team would take a 23rd placed driver. She's never even won a race in a car -...

Yeah, it really does. On every track they have about 15mph on me down the straights. At both Shanghai and Catalunya, I was midfield around the first and 3rd sectors yet the slowest car of all (around half a second slower than the Virgins) in the middle sector! I do like the blocking but it would be ...

An OBE, I guess!
Jim Clark had an OBE and he won two. Same with Graham Hill.
(Surtees, Damon Hill and Mansell also have OBEs despite winning one each, so there's that theory gone.)
Then a knighthood for three?

It probably all depends on how Ferrari find the performance of whoever is in the seat for Valencia, which I think is likely to be Gené. I don't like Schumi, but I hugely respect him as a driver. However, I think he retired at the right time, when he was nearly world champion and still near his peak. There's plenty of nice gravel traps for ePIQ fail to get stuck in though. Although with Alonso slightly off-colour (he has an ear infection I believe) this could be Nelsinho's big chance to outqualify Fernando for the first (and possibly last) time. I reckon if Piquet does outqualify Alonso, he'll ...

Back to Paul Ricard I say! I think my favourite French race track of all time would have to be Rouen-Les-Essarts, closely followed by Dijon. If this is true, then I never really liked Stoddart when he was in charge at Minardi, but I think the team lost most of it's charm when it became Toro Rosso. Sure, I was cheering them on in Italy last year, but I think it became too much of a Red Bull B-Team, would have liked to see them a little mo...
