Re: Barrichello vs. anti-stall
There is a clutch lever next to the gear paddles on the steering wheel. Brundle did one of the F1 insight videos on the steering wheel where it shows you the clutch paddles. It makes sence really because in most cases you will be pressing both paddles almost simultaniously.

Re: Create your ideal 18-race calendar
Yeah it is pretty invisible.
I just went for tracks I don't personally enjoy (which is why there are so many street circuits there) mainly because of a lack of overtaking on them.

Re: Create your ideal 18-race calendar
Haha, obviously my attempt at a rubbish calendar wasn't good enough when you only point out 2 of the circuits.
I could have made a better one but I tried to keep within the rules of the main post.
EDIT: Hang on a minute, you take objection to Magany Cours but not Caesars Palace???

Re: 2009 Belgian Grand Prix discussion
He didn't crash, there was a brief shot of him on the grass after he'd crossed the finish line. Just thinking, Kimi ran wide at turn 1 and gained positions, is that strictly allowed??? I don't want any controversy, just a thought though. It is although I'm not quite sure why when at other tracks th...

Re: 2009 Belgian Grand Prix discussion
Was Kovalainen doing a Brambilla and crashing after the finish line? I might be wrong but I think he was just picking up some debris on his tyres to add weight to his car. At Spa they don't do a full cool down lap after the race. Well done Fizzi, a well deserved 2nd place that would have been a win...

Re: 2009 Belgian Grand Prix discussion
And that is why Spa is the greatest circuit in F1. If only we had more tracks designed to test the driver's ability instead of satisfying the sponsors and TV companies, surely the better racing would attract more fans to the sport which would ultimately benefit TV and sponsors anyway. I feel sorry f...

Yeah you simply cannot be that slow and get away with it in modern F1. I would imagine Gene will get the drive at Monza myself but we will see.

Re: Podcasts of F1 Reject history
+1 to this idea in any format. Reading the website and listening to the podcast I hear many reject drivers from before my time so I have no memories of individual races from them. This would be a great way to get the full feeling of just how bad it was for some drivers then.

Force India, USF1 and now a Malaysian GP team
I can't say I expected F1 to turn into A1GP but it seems to be the case.

Re: A hypothetical question
If the engines counted against the car and not the driver then this would be worth considering if Torro Rosso were closer to the pace. As it is though I agree with most that he is better taking a 10 place penalty in a Red Bull.

Re: Williams-Renault
They would have to change the regs or the new teams would struggle for engines. Or are they being supplied by a new engine manufacturer (like the once mentionned standard Cosworth engines)?

Re: 2009 Belgian Grand Prix discussion
I'm gonna throw a curveball and say Kimi's gonna win. He's been on a great form (by this seasons standards) lately and has always been exceptional in Spa, so don't be surprised if this "demotivated hasbeen" snatches the win That could well happen. For me Kimi has improved dramatically in ...

Re: Why no more new teams?
Yeah I think the general cost just to attend the race weekends as a team now is so high that many would not be able to get enough sponsor money if they could not garuntee a place on the grid. Hopefully when the costs come down and the financial sector sorts itself out we might be able to have a few ...

Re: 2009 Belgian Grand Prix discussion
I actually think (or is it hope) that Badoer will be much closer to the pace this weekend. I think the track will suit Red Bull much better than in Valencia which will help spice up the race for the Drivers title. Now arent we all glad the "winner takes it all" system was never put in place.

Personally I would like to see Anthony Davidson get the drive. But for now let's hope Badoer proves us all wrong in Spa, for all we know he might only drive well on interesting circuits.

Re: Bortolotti may replace Badoer after Spa
This one doesn't make sense to me either. Ferrari only need a driver to see the season out so I highly doubt they will go for a young driver. If Badoer does get dropped I would expect to see Gene/Piquet/Bourdais back or a driver from another team making the step up. Still though, the idea of an F1 d...

Well now we know why Luca was so slow. He knew he couldn't win the drivers championship so he would try for this instead.
Can I suggest updating the first post after each GP as well as making a new post for the updated results. It saves scanning every post for the results after each race.

Re: Your Reject of the Race - Valencia!
What about Vettel's engines, two blowouts in one weekend. Ultimately I would give it to Luca. He was nowhere near the pace (except in the pit lane, another reason he should get ROTR) and lacked the killer instinct of a true racing driver. Throughout practice and qualifying he was moving aside to let...

Re: The revolving doors of F1
Williams wanting to drop the engines, combined with Toyota only offering a 1 year deal to Trulli looks to me like Toyota are making it possible for them to leave next year if performances do not improve. Personally I will be glad to see the back of Toyota if we can get a more passionate team to repl...

Re: 090410 Malaysian GP Edition
Then what's Williams gonna do with their flywheel KERS? Crank it up by hand?!? I'd hate to have that job! I would imagine they would be able to charge it on the lap to the grid and the wamup lap. May not get enough power from that however as I doubt they do much heavy breaking in that time. I wonde...
