Re: Can Vettel set new record for most wins in a season in 2
Vettel really shouldn't have won the last two races, and the Red Bull, while still quick, is vulnerable to McLaren on strategy and with DRS and KERS. Hamilton should have 2 wins and Button should've picked up a win also. That would leave things on 129-92 with Vettel and Hamilton. Oh well. If you loo...

Why the clamour for Senna? How about the chap who outperformed him last year, Sakhon Yamamoto? Or that other chap who outperformed him- Narun Chandhok? Or that other chap who outperformed him- Christian Klien?

Hamilton deserves the award, but his eventual position was mainly because of the McLaren letting him down.
He and Di Resta get the "How is that thing still running" award. If we were doing that award.

For the future of CFD as the primary design tool in F1 I am a little sad. I found it infinitely improbable, for a number of reasons. I understand the concept of the thread, and at the end of the day that is my opinion. To be fair I didn't think Heidfeld or Kobayashi's races were pretty surprising, despite the quality of their drives. So I chose Lewis and Seb 'at the end ...

Sort of, though they were on weird strategies by that position and out of sequence with the pit stops. The end result was one crashed out quite badly and the other one ended up driving very slowly and getting in the way as usual. Which isn't so improbable. But a better suggestion than Vettel and Ham...

I guess freeing up the regulations in terms of development to have different solutions, many of which may be unreliable, and putting limits on components with finite lifespans would be ways of increasing attrition without making it too obvious that's what they were doing it for. Linked maybe, but a serious contender? I don't know about that. For the Merc seat both Di Resta and Hülkenberg are ahead of him. Specially after Di Resta matching his pace. I think Magny-Cours would be quite exciting under new rules. I'm not sure why but I always seemed to have exciting races on Grand Prix 2 at Magny-Cours, maybe I just have a skewed perspective.

How can Sutil have been a has-been for the past 2 years?
What had he done in the years preceding that?
They were the most successful period in his career and has it in him to be up at the front, no doubt.

I don't think Vettel was really developed and ready to go. I think he had pure speed (perhaps more than Alguersuari) but he did his stupid mistakes too and that led to him being called "crashkid". In his 4th season, when he won the championship, and he nearly could've won the championship...

People say Alesi was unlucky for how many podiums he got without winning, but to look at it another way, he never looked to have the cutting edge and consistency to win regularly. I agree with the above. The direction constantly failed to recognise points of excitement, almost as if they were supposed to be routine or uninteresting. There was no sense of narrative to what they chose to focus on and that too left me feeling pretty clueless about anything below the top 8.

Consistent, or boring, or mediocre, or what? The bloke has now been in 31 races and every finish of his has been between 9th and 16th place.
