Re: Reject of the Race - Great Britain

19 July edit: I've had some time to sleep on it, so here's my revised picks:
  1. David Croft, please just bathplug off to Merc's marketing department.
  2. Red Bull, for sacrificing Checo and a handful of WCC points just to deny Lewis a fastest lap point.

Re: The Gravel Trap: Formula E

Here's the thing though - everyone I've spoken to who works with EVs and e-mobility thinks that FE is a waste of time. Sure, it's driving efficiency to some extent - but motor development is pretty much frozen up to a certain power level and there's no battery development at all. That's why you hav...

What's the point of a restart, we've got >90% of the race done FFS! Hamilton making a mistake was the point of it. It ain't over till the chequered flag waves. Yeah, I guess that'll teach me to shoot my mouth off. You could tell I was a tad salty about witnessing a potential deciding point in an 8t...

  1. Lewis Hamilton for the OMEGACHOKE. You said it yourself, this is a marathon, you could've settled for 18 points and instead you've finished behind Bottas.
  2. Pirelli, for living up to the meme of Italian unreliability.

EDIT because of this: m ⋅  Ferrari. OK, if Leclerc's driveshaft was actually checked for damage, it'd probably need replacing and incur a penalty. Maybe he'd get the jump on Gasly with some heroics into Sainte-Devote, but if not he'd still be on for 10 points after Bottas's luck struck aga...

Formula 5000 was cool back in the day. Better than F3000. Very different intent as well. Formula 3000 was a stepping stone formula whereas Formula 5000 was intended as an alternative series to Formula 1. Speaking of alternatives to F1, I often wonder why one didn't spring up during Japan's 80s boom...

If it doesn't have any bigger naturally-aspirated engines involved, then sure. I was just outlining a lore for a universe where F5000 survived. I blame Polyphony Digital, for introducing the term "Formula GT" way back in GT3 and sticking in my head for years.
