Re: Submitted article: Review of Psygnosis' "Formula 1"

A quick note: Grand Prix 2 had the official Formula 1 license, and it was 3D as well. It also predates this one IIRC. It did, although (and my mind/age may be playing tricks on me) I vaguely remember it being pulled from shelves (here in the UK anyway) due to some sort of dispute over licencing. It...

Re: The Sportscar and Endurance Thread

Seeing on other forums that he's in an ambulance and the car on the back of a truck already, but haven't found any word on his condition. Hopefully the whole "more wrecked a car is the more energy has been dissipated" etc. applies here.

Re: F1 Teams' Junior Teams

Been getting into Euro F3 this year - fair play to the series for making all the (full) races available on YouTube on their official YT channel with decent picture quality and full commentary, light years ahead of F1 and even GP2/GP3/WSR in that respect. That Ocon looks both quick and very consisten...

Re: The Sportscar and Endurance Thread

My favourite weekend of the year coming up! Fridge fully stocked, Monday booked off work for obligatory recovery time, I never managed to watch the full 24 hours in one sitting last year as sleep intervened but was able to watch the remainder on Sky+ delay, will try to at least get a little bit furt...

Re: Haas planning to enter F1 in 2016

Seems to have abandoned the Dallara plans and seems to want to take the latest customer/shared parts rules to their limit in order to get a car on the grid, as per Autosport, with the tub, bodywork and other mandated-proprietary bits done in-house. In favour of the relaxation on appendix 6/listed pa...

Re: Rantbox

Can we Please have less shots of folk in the pit garages and to those folk who say ooooh it adds tension.... to which I say is b#llsh|t! There are occasional moments when I don't mind it, i.e if a close member of family is a particular character (who didn't like Jenson's father?), but for the most ...

Re: Hello everyone! New members' check in desk

Stupid (newbie) question!

In the predictions threads, what do "DBTMOTR" "MLP" stand for? ROTR is obvious and IIDOTR I've figured out from lurking in the forums but can't for the life of me work out the other two, bet they're really obvious as well but I'm crap at acronyms!

Re: Unpopular F1 opinions

By 2014, drivers are degraded into one of the many variables of the car. They can only determine which car of the team will finish ahead of the another but they can't make a real difference any more (like Alonso did many times in the past, with his mediocre Ferrari). I'd say drivers have always bee...

Re: What rule changes would you make in F1?

Ideas rolling around in my head (apologies for the length of this post) - obviously some may not be workable, some may even conflict with each other in some way, but here goes: Entries: -No limit on number of teams, with the pre-qualifying system of 1988-1992 to be used if ever necessary. -Abolish p...

Re: Ponderbox

The tobacco ads do not influence non-smokers to start smoking (unless you are a brain dead fool), but merely persuade already existing smokers to change brands. Most people, I would presume, start smoking as a teenager for whatever reason, not because 'I saw it on a Ferrari and Ferrari's are fast s...

Re: RIP Sir Jack Brabham

Just woke up to this news, came as a bit of a shock, I'd completely forgotten that he was 88, probably because he was racing as "recently" as 1970 (in itself probably a testament to how quick he was at 44). RIP It is important that as many stories, memories and anecdotes from the older gen...
