Re: Looks Like Kimi Is Surely Out Now

Surely Ferrari fans will welcome the signing of arguably the best all round driver in F1? If I were a Ferrari fan, I would want Alonso in the team, as I know he would deliver the goods if he were to have a good car. I'm not a fan of Raikkonen's at all, and I really do think he is a big morale sapper...

Re: Support for Luca Badoer - for upcoming podcast!

I've always felt that Luca Badoer was up there with some of the best Minardi drivers, and of course he was robbed in 1999 on two counts, first by not standing in for Schumacher at Ferrari, and second because of the gearbox failure in the Minardi at the Nurburgring. I'm absolutely delighted that Ferr...

Re: The reject youtube thread

About 1999 standings interesting note is that if Ferrari's disqualification from Malaysian GP had stood, Minardi would have finished ahead of Arrows. Gene was 9th in Malaysian GP and would have then been 7th. They both would have had one sixth place (de la Rosa/AUS, Gene/EUR) and one seventh place ...

I actually think that Sutil could well remain at Force India, since the rumours continue to circulate that Fisichella is going to retire, and the team may want some continuity. What's more, if they continue to improve, he may well want to stay. I think Sutil has improved quite a bit this year, but h...

I disagree with the idea of having a development team in Formula One. Toro Rosso should be allowed every opportunity to succeed, not simply give drivers some experience so that they can be upgraded to the Red Bull factory race seats when they start showing potential. A team like Toro Rosso would be...

I remember Bruni very easily, although I am a Minardi fan though, so I remember all their drivers without too much trouble. That said, anyone who manages to be out qualified and out raced by Zsolt Baumgartner tends to be memorable in my book, albeit for all the wrong reasons ;) .

The decision doesn't surprise me in the slightest, since the body language between Bourdais and the team after he had retired revealed far more than any words could have. A better race than most of the events this year, but it still could have done with some rain. I won't make my usual complaint about excessive reliability on this occasion, as the Nurburgring has never traditionally been a car breaker, in part due to the low temperatures, so I'm actually amazed that ...

BMW haven't had many engine failures in races though, and this is the most crucial thing. I've read that Cosworth have done quite a bit of work on the engines, so while they may be based on the 2006 unit, they are different in terms of their power output, and I suspect that reliability will have been very much improved since 2006.

I rather tend to agree with Captain Hammer's theory, but the fact that Prodrive didn't honour (in the eyes of the FIA) its 2008 commitment to join the grid may well have counted against it too, so I suspect it was a combination of both of these factors which led to their entry being turned down.
